According to the new Games Masters feature we will be able to pick a backstory during CC. What kinds of options do you think well get? What options do you want? And how much content will there be for each backstory? A full side mission? A mini mission like in ME1? Or just casual mentions like in ME 2 and 3?

I think it is more likely that we just can decide how we interact with our family, ex. was you close to your sibling or did you hate each other? Or ididi Dadryder like you more than your sibling. Maybe something that relate to Momryder?
I wouldn't be against any missions but I don't think it is anything big.

Well since there isn't going to be any Paragon or Renegade, hopefully there won't be any clear cut, good backstory, bad backstory, something a little more grey and interesting perhaps.
It will be interesting since Alec and the other sibling will be taken into account as well I'd have thought. I would also like a full side mission regarding our backstory. ALong the lines of what ME1 did, but fleshed out better.

I expect it will set up your position in the family, giving you a degree of estrangement if you so wish from Sara/Scott and Dad.

I like this idea I can see my Canon Ryder that is estranged from his father but is real close with his sister.

I like this idea I can see my Canon Ryder that is estranged from his father but is real close with his sister. I hope that I can be estranged from the family as a clever way for BioWARE to let the player to go with the more common "unattached hero" gaming convention. I am not fond of a sim-family I saw in Dragon Age:O for Cosuland/Dwarves and in Dragon Age 2, but I know a lot of players love it, so this way we all can have sort of what we like.

I expect it will set up your position in the family, giving you a degree of estrangement if you so wish from Sara/Scott and Dad. That would be great. Something like: -Blessed You never had a serious falling out with your family and they were always there for you when you needed them. (This option, while seemingly without a downside would make any serious plot related family conflict that much more devastating.) -Daddys favourite Your father has always been proud of his offspring...Well, one of them at least. No matter what, you, your needs and your problems always came first. Is it any wonder that your sibling looks at you with resentment? - Black Sheep For whatever reason you could never quite live up to your fathers expectations. Your grades werent good enough, your friends were beneath you, and even the news that you had been accepted for the AI barely elicited a reaction. Despite this you could always depend on your sibling to have your back. I would choose the latter of course. Yay for daddy issues!

You've moved away to another planet/colony at an early age and gradually lost contact with your family. Always little more than strangers, over just a few short years they become a distant memory, so you were really surprised when your Father contacted you to be recruited into Andromeda.

Bio, it seems, was not ready to reveal the Backstory feature of ME:A. At least not in January.
As to a possible mini-backstory as in DA:O, I'm not sure how that would work. Dad is a N7 soldier with a wife and two offspring. The writers need to find a way to tell each sibling's story painted on the same canvas. There is no Origin story for them. Their individual paths that lead them to the Ai is an interesting story exercise for the writers, imo.

I'd probably use all 3 at one point or another but of the 3 m ycannon would likely be the blessed one as I'm pretty close to my family especially my mum who doubles up as my carer because of my disability.

I posted something a loooong time ago, but I can't find it. I was thinking your backstory can be a mix between your family relationship and the reason why you are in Andromeda's Initiative, something like:
Family Project You are in good terms with your father and your sibling. Since you were children, you and your sibling saw how your parents work hard in Andromeda Initiative. That's why at your 18 birthday you two are part of the Andromeda Initiative. It's like a family project for you.
Sibling Bond You are in good terms with your sibling but you always had problems with your father. That's why when you became an adult you left home to explore the galaxy outside your family ties. However, you kept talking with your sibling. After working in private security in Noveria and a couple of bodyguarding jobs, your sibling contacted you in order to convince you to join Andromeda Initiative. Although you are not sure about leaving MW behind, you finally join the Project in order to keep not to lose your twin.
Black Sheep You are in bad terms with your family. You always felt like you don't belong to the Ryders. That's why when you became an adult you left home. After working as a merc and make some questionable choices, you end up in jail (Purgatory). Someone paid for you to be released, your father. The catch is regardless of your opinion, you are in Andromeda Initiative now and you will go to another galaxy.

From the very brief snippets of dialogue we got from Sarah from the video trailers, I see her as the more self confident one.

I got that vibe too, but I hope we could have some impact to make a diplomatic Sara or a rough and self confident Scott if we wish. The replayability would be much better

The replayability would be much better I think I'd prefer if they were somewhat different. I don't want Scott to be Sara with a goatee. That'd just be weird. The great thing about Shepard, was that s/he was not a completely blank slate. We make our own Shepard, but she or he is still recognisably Shepard.

Yesss give me all the backstory options. Apart from family what do you think they'd have as options as well? Liek we're pretty green as far as worldly experience goes so I don't see anything like "sole survivor" and "butcher of torfan" being in there but maybe something to do with a significant childhood event? To do with mama Ryder maybe?
Do you think there'll be 2 options again like with shep? Family and career focused?

I'm not sure they'll let us choose amount of family drama there. I think it's more about different kinds of education/lack of it. Some military/scientific/corporate/"street" kinds perhaps. But nice surprise anyway, before it I've already accepted that there might no such choice at all.

I'd like something about the family relationships: good, bad, in-between. Maybe also if you're a spoiled brat, became a merc, was a top engineer in school - something to guide the initial powers/abilities before we start making in-game choices about it all.
