Your ideal Love Interest in Mass Effect Andromeda

I would like a self confident, intelligent person who likes me for for who I am and challenges me, but knows when to back off. I do not need a protector. I can protect myself.

You know, it'd be interesting to romance someone who isn't a super good guy. Someone who perhaps starts that way then messes up later in the game (either through circumstance or evilness), leaving you to decide how to handle it.

Like Anders after act 3, or Loghain, or Solas after the reveal. Give us some angst and drama to work through, and not just 'here's a terrible thing walks off into the sunset without you.

Hmm I'd like a classy blonde girl. Not snobby like, but well mannered and reserved type I guess. Josephine-ish I suppose but with less punctuality and naivety.

Silk hiding knives (niceness hiding knives?) seems to be my favourite. The characters that come across as 'cute', 'innocent', but are 100% capable of gutting you - and will. In Bioware games these characters often go through a crisis of character. Bonus points if their niceness isn't treated as weakness.

E.g, Leliana (Origins), Josephine.. Liara in later games, though she lacks the gentle rounding of niceness at times - not that I'm complaining. I can't think of any male characters that fit this, though.

My ideal LI would probably be a woman who's a mashup of mostly Ashley and Bastila, with a bit of Morrigan/Miranda. Someone who's strong willed, not afraid to speak their mind as it is, and who's willing to take charge now and then. As with Ashley, she's a good hearted person with a spiritual side, which is interesting as well.

Weirdly enough, Cassandra didn't fit the bill for me, despite her seemingly compatible personality. I feel bad explaining it like this, but something about her appearance just didn't click with me.

I personally don't feel any romantic attachment to characters who have a soft and innocent character, like how Leliana and Liara were at the beginning of DAO and ME1. Not that they are bad characters by any means, they have great stories and make good friends. It's just my preference.

Because this game is a clean slate I have no expectations regarding LIs. I know very little about MEA, except where it's going to take place and what possible races will be joining our human PC on the journey. So, maybe an adorable Salarian dude, they have the cutest personalities. Or perhaps a cool Krogan lady! Garrus and Thane were my favorites from the original trilogy so another drell or turian would be good too, maybe female this time. I'm most interested in personality rather than looks. I think they have a different group of writers there in Montreal, so I look forward to seeing what they do with the characters.

Human, female, preferably Japanese. Alien ones seem akin to sex with animals. Not that I'm advocating removing them, but my suspension of disbelief tends to break. Mostly I want them to be interesting or fun. My favorites among Bioware characters are Morrigan, Leliana, Isabel, Sera, and Tali (only because I picture a human...and damn that body.) I find them all appealing for various reasons, but in the real world wouldn't date any of them...well, maybe Morrigan though I don't see that lasting more than a month.

Bluish or purply or pinkish colour.

War paint.

Commando.

Hold the eyebrows.

Hips, please.

Humorous attitude.

Backpack full of explosives.

And some sass to go with her badassery.
