I'd like a tough-talking, swaggering, gal who sweetens and reveals a warm-hearted geek beneath the crust ala Cassandra in DAI.

Would anyone around here want to date an Asari, watch their eyes turn black, and 'embrace eternity'?
Well, not if it means experiencing a grotesque Prothean vision, but if it was a beautiful and erotic dream sequence, I'd certainly try it. I'm hoping there will be some Andromedan vixens and studs that can do better. Adventure lies ahead, not in the past. Still, I'm a bit racist in that I'm more human-centric in the 'that's the stud-muffin I want' pov, but willing to experiment in ME:A.

I have no idea. I could say what my favorites have been in past games and I ultimately have no idea wtf that says. But in order of love interest-types. Annah from PST, Viconica in BG2, Tali, Jack, Merrill, Cassandra in DAI.
Guess I like girls with a personality, quirky and a shotgun?

Wry but not always "on"; capable but not cocky; pragmatic; a little disheveled or rough around the edges.

In terms of personality, a jokester/flirt/badass. Think Varric Tethras with just a drop or two of Sera. And in terms of appearance... well:

Hey girls - Why is it that some women want "to be the one who fixes the bad boy with flaws and rough edges."?
[advice]
1) They never grow up; 2) They don't really respect you and your opinions and preferences; 3) They will always be irresponsible; and 4) You will waste 6-9 years of your life and your kid's lives will be all messed up.
The reality is that you, dear girl, will be the one who is making all the contorted changes to keep up with your guy's selfish behaviors, until you ultimately realize your life has become unrecognizable, angry, and massively depressed while he's having multiple affairs with other women. Who needs that?
Do yourself a big favor: Please be strong, keep your requirements high, don't cave in, don't be afraid of not having a guy in your life, and avoid the inevitable pain and heartbreak!
[/advice] Love ya!

She's my avatar.
Although really, I do like that type of personality that somebody like Kasumi or Tracer from Overwatch have so I'd be going with somebody along those lines.

Drell that is quite different from Thane. Not into serving Hanars and would provide another opinion on Drell's culture, brash. Maybe bounty hunter or tomb raider / adventurer type. Living for himself.
I also like idea of bad-ass Asari commando that is like Aria or Tela Vasir. So opposite of Liara again.

It's escapism, and while most of us make sensible choices when it comes to dedicating time and emotions to people, it's fun to not in a video game. Just like it's fun to play a dwarf who doesn't stop to help people all the time. (And don't date an Anders ever, teehee. He's a fine pick in Dragon Age 2 but seriously, if you find yourself a man like that, run.) That being said, I can forgive a lot for a nice voice. I'd like something with a bit less fixing and a bit more mutual dependence. I want LI asking my character how they're doing and have my character able to reciprocate.

I'd like a male Quarian as romance, and for personality...I'd love a grumpy man. Better if a medic/scientist, anything but not the usual (for ME, at least) soldier. I have a thing for grumpy characters with a good heart under the snark and gruffyness. Basically, I'd like a Quarian McCoy. Or, in alternative, as personality goes, a Han Solo type. I'd like a rogue type.

I'm still bummed I never got to romance Joker :'( For one moment I thought you were talking about The Batman's Joker Yea, I feel you. Joker would have been a fun and lovely romance However he is happy making love with the ship (remember that moment when Jacob says: No, Shepard, the Normandy is your real love? EDI says something like: naaah, I'm already with Joker?)

I have that in real life, and yes it is fantastic. So in fiction I want it rough dirty and twisted with a large helping of drama and angst.

Cassandra is just...awesome with an extra helping of awesome sauce. (Get out of the gutter, ya'll). If I ever get around to playing a character that romances women, she'll be my first choice. Cassandra was that character I hoped to see in a Bioware game since I started with Baldur's Gate back in 1998. I was really happy when they did it in DA:I, she was amazing. Bioware has a history of reusing many character types in their games, I hope this is true with Cassandra. <<<<<<<<<<(0)>>>>>>>>> Cass was my love in DA:I. The romance was short , tho. What I'm really hoping is that romances in ME:A are not written like quests. Once done, it's over.

how about just being available when you want, not just at the last possible moment while heading off to the final battle. Ideally she's strong willed, opinionated, intelligent and has a personality, not the boring shy silent type...

I personally want a bad-ass Asari commando who is either a hatemance or "equal" romance. For hatemance, I LOVED a noble Hawke with Isabela, that respect, lust, and begrudging love was well played, to me.
As for an equal-mance, Elara Dorne from SWTOR is my example; it's never about power, but a flirtation where both parties give and take. Elara was level headed, and while she had her background and associated drama, she had no angst. She could be bubbly, flirty, and hit just as hard. I always felt that, in the field you were her commander, but alone there was never a more equal pairing. I didn't feel like I chased her, or 'won' her. I felt that I was attracted in character, as was she, and the characters got to know who the other person was, morally. Granted, a lot of that has changed with the later additions to companion quests, but still, nothing but fond memories.
But I love Asari, so that's my number one archetype and race combo. It'd be nice to see a different type of Asari in length, compared to Liara and Zen Samara.
