Kal Reegar was awesome. Before Tali/Garrus happened in ME3 (also awesome) Kal was my number one match up I had in mind for Tali. You just know something kinky happened on Haestrom.

Reegar acted rash and impulsive. Mind, I had no use for J either.

Better hars and impulsive (like basically 3/4 of the Normandy crew and many times Shepard herself) than non acting at all   and Reegar was a soldier, in a situation not that much different from Garrus. He would act as his commander would have told him to do.

Tbh, I'm really not into the dorky, awkward "virginal" personality types. And that seems to be the mainstay of BW's LI offerings.

My ideal LI is a roguish personality. Comfortable in their sexuality. Confident without being conceited. Protective without being domineering/controlling. Knows his own mind, yet is open to other insights and opinions. Great humor that does not veer into mean-spiritedness, because I will ditch him in a second if he turns out to be mean and petty.

Sexy! Takes charge in the romance without being a Creeper about it.

Maybe it's easier to write the dork romance. Idk.

No doormats, but no azzholes, either. No one that I need to talk into a romance because...really?

Passionate personality. Intense, yet has learned self discipline.

I mean, if the BW writers; animators and voice actors can come together to create an alchemical formula that makes me blush while I play the game...well...then..I'm yours.

Well, I'd really like a female Knight in Shining Armour who's available to females. That's the TL;DR version.

I've really liked Kaidan, Alistair, and Cullen, and for whatever reason, Bioware's style of writing when it comes to straight female romance options has been the most appealing to me, with the obvious exception of the LIs being male So if they just made a romance like that, but made the LI in question female instead, I'd be a happy Banshee. Call me boring, but I like the fluffy, romantic, not overly dramatic romances. Some drama is fine, I just want the majority of the romance to be about just that. So Cullen's romance was about perfect for me in that sense, but I still couldn't fully relate to it on account of Cullen being a guy. Sorry Cullen

I don't think that's really too much to ask after so many games of not having anyone like that, but I still don't expect it to happen Bioware just doesn't seem interested in making someone like that.

Anyway, if I'm going to be more specific about what I'd like to see, I'd like someone who is a good person at their core, that's essential. They can be hopeful or a bit cynical, but they still help people because it's the right thing to do. Perhaps that's even their character arc, going from hopeful to cynical or vice versa. They should be fluffy and romantic on the inside, whether on the outside they're laid-back and dorky like Alistair or stern and focused like Cullen or Cass. The other thing I find (almost) essential is that they be awkward about the romance. I find it adorable. That can slowly disappear as the romance goes on and they get more comfortable with you, but it's great at the start.

Past that, it would be awesome if they were witty and dry. Not necessarily all the time, but sometimes. I'd really like them to be intellectual, as well. I don't think we've seen enough of that in our options. Being amazed and interested in the wonders of the universe would fit quite nicely in ME:A, too. Perhaps they can be an Engineer, or maybe a Soldier, for contrast? "Smart muscle", as it were. Being loyal and protective while not undermining your own competence would be good.

Now, for non-personality things. I'd like her to be a squadmate, simply so I can hear her banter and comments, and because the krogan/dwarf part of me finds being a Battle Couple oddly romantic However, if she were someone like the pilot of the Tempest, that would give her an excuse to use the radio frequently on-mission. I agree with the others here who've stated that they'd like their LI to express interest first. That would be a welcome change, especially if we're given the option to respond awkwardly

I'm not picky when it comes to appearance. Although I do have preferences, the personality is most important. But I would like her to be human, for relatability. Finally, the romance needs hugs. Lots of hugs A wedding at some point (say, the epilogue) would also be great Don't say it won't happen, they did it in Dragon Age! Besides, I'd find it unrealistic if this is another trilogy (or long game) and we can spend years together but can't get married

I was always torn between Miranda and Jack on my playthroughs, but my Male Shep always romanced one of them.

Sadly, I don't know that either character would have been created as is under modern BioWare. And that's the one area where I'm worried about MEA.

I know it's not a 1:1 comparison, but none of the DA:I characters were very memorable to me. I hope MEA turns out different.

There better be a vorcha LI or I'm not buying this game! Hmph!
