>The Andromeda Initiative is a cover for attempts to harvest energy from a strange and massive celestial body comprised of more than 80% Eezo, and is actually run by various proxy organizations backed by the Council. >The celestial bodt is dubbed the "Anomalous Eezo Body". >Three of the largest colonist ships are actually designed to harvest vast amounts of Eezo emissions from the Anomalous Eezo Body and to then project it to an undisclosed location in the Milky Way for storage via an experimental pseudo-relay. >Cerberus has operatives as part of the project who become your tenuous allies regardless of your decisions, though how friendly your relationship is varies depending on your choices. They're a tiny minority of the human colonists but occupy significant positions and have numerous robotic forces. >Your father sabotages one of the harvesting ship to explode and take out the other two out of the belief that the Anomalous Eezo Body being harvested for military use will lead to an imbalance of power and the establishment of an authoritarian regime by the Council over non-Council species both in the Milky Way; obviously including mankind. >He was not a Cerberus operative but assisted their infiltration out of paranoia over the project and belief that he needed them to find out what was going on. >His sabotage was unsanctioned by them, and it's implied they had plans of their own for disrupting or hijacking the harvesting project. >Your Ryder dies in the end during the self-destruct sequence of the harvesting ship (the other two can be saved by your team if you do well) since it cannot be stopped regardless of what actions you take and their sibling seems to be setup as the protagonist for the sequel in the epilogue, giving an official statement on the incident determined by you.

Written by some anonymous in /v/. Might be real, might be fake. You never know. More info: Ending stuff - >>366920093 (OP) # If you claim that the Harvesting ship(s) being destroyed was caused by an oversight by the heads of the project that led to a critical malfunction: >Relations degrade between the Turian/Asari/Salarians and humanity. Only the command and high ranking members of their research teams/military detachments were aware of the project's real purpose, but their colonists now scorn eachother while trying to shift the blame - with war seeming possible. >Cerberus approves of this for how it leverages humanity into a more powerful position and the remnants of the AI leadership are implied to be plotting against you. If you blame your father: >Humanity occupies the same position as the Council races would, being scorned for his actions. >Cerberus disapproves and turns against you, but the remainder of the AI leadership are privately grateful and promise you will be rewarded for your loyalty to the harmony of the colonists. The Kett worship the AEB as a sacred gift as it powers most of their technology and plays an important role in their religion. They oppose the AI colonists early on since they see them as an imperialistic threat, and then later for the project's attempted harvesting of the AEB. A stalemate with them is reached by the end regardless of which choices you make. Also, for those theorising Cora is related to TIM, it isn't clarified in the game if she is or not - but she is nitably amicable towards the Cerberus agents you come in contact with.

One reason why I'm inclined to think that this is fake, is because it's concocted out of themes/questions already debated on the forums, youtube, etc.
- what's that huge black-hole like thing in the middle of the cluster? - do we find out that there's a hidden objective behind AI? - could papa Ryder be a traitor? does he go rogue at some point? - is Cerberus involved? if so, to what extent?
None of this is new. I somehow think that a 'leak' which confirms a set of suspicions based on very little info is likely to be forged. But then again you never know.

I am averting my eyes as I post this.
To anyone who wants to read dutch's post, whether the info is true or not, please do not start talking about any of it outside of this thread. The last thing I need is to be innocently perusing the forum and have a bomb dropped in my face.
Yikes. I may have to go dark sooner than expected.

Hi, Dutch. And since Crutch already has asked for where you get your information. So I pretty much am only left with.... Hi, Dutch.
Though based on developer tweets and comments about Cerberus being in Andromeda, that it is unlikely they will be in Andromeda, I doubt this theory holds a lot of weight.
However, I think the rest of it is pretty solid based on what we have seen from the game and it might not be right or even very right, but there might also be a couple of kernals of truth in there.

Can't exactly do that if you kill them off.

This leak gives us a real purpose of why the hell people are actually going to andromeda. Honestly it seems real to me. The only part I find not believable is the part where your Ryder dies and the sequel forces you to play the sibling if you import a save file, im assuming.

I don't think it's real. You're supposed to be able to continue to play after the end game. Can't do that if you don't survive it.

Edit: And to your second point, forcing people to play the opposite gender of their chosen protagonist? Nope.

The only part I find not believable is the part where your Ryder dies and the sequel forces you to play the sibling if you import a save file, im assuming. We should assume that there is a 'real' reason for going tot he Andromeda Galaxy and the 'leak' only expands on the reason given by the devs. Establishing a presence in the Andromeda Galaxy in order to get more resources. If the devs are being shady on the details its because they do not want to spoil anything. And, given the frequence the 'thing' in the center of the Heleus Cluster has shown up...has shown up...then I assume it is/ becomes a major reason for the Andromeda Iniative to be there and hence a big part of the plot. Now what 'it' is I don't think has been settled yet. That part of the 'leak' I doubt. But, the part that is accurate is that it does have something to do with the plot. Though Lance Ryder is right. It does seem like this 'leak' is just a regurgitation of several fan theories with a twist. A perfectly legitimate fan theory, but not an actual leak.

Besides they actually might not even have a sequel if sales are low and if they do who's to say they just won't bring your hero back like they did with Shepard?

Both that and it would pretty much force into one or the other gender in one of the games which, since this is bioware, find very unlikely. Also, why would Rydad think council is trying to oppress humanity if humanity IS on the council? And he knows about it, since we leave between ME2 and 3. (Also, N7 working with Cerberus? I find that highly unlikely, remember how Jacob says that Alliance people automatically assume Cerberus = bad...unless he died and they Lazarused him too )

What I also noticed is that the "leak" didn't mention anything about the remenant. Perhaps the giant celestial body of eezo was their doing and the kett also worship them as forebearers.

It's not bad, so it's hard to believe it's true!
Although I'd still think the AI is a big rupture with the know Mass Effect lore, a seemingly infinite source of Eezo is not a bad reason why many races would come together to go to another galaxy. It's certainly infinitely better than "exploration!".
