Mass Effect - HBO or Netflix

Honestly given the lack of new space based sci-fi shows (there have been plenty of time travel and/or robots/cyberpunk sci-fi shows) made for mostly for the US, I would welcome it, only because I'm not going to be able to watch Star Trek: Discovery because I'm not paying money for one new show any digital platform (and I'm not sold on ST:D as a series because I'm a bigger fan of TNG/DS9/Voyager shows than of TOS and Enterprise and the problems that this show is having isn't helping)  and I'm not paying for cable to watch The Expanse on the Syfy Channel.

Netflix needs a live action space based sci-fi show I like both Sense 8 and Voltron: Legendary Defender but I'm craving something new, fun, exciting, and challenging. I've watched Dark Matter which is Canadian sci-fi show that Netflix streams and it's OK but it's basically feels like a pitch for Firefly/Serenity comic book mini-series and the characters aren't as cool as they think are.

No, I don't trust them to get it right. HBO less than Netflix. HBO's penchant for throwing in sex/violence/swearing where none was needed is pretty juvenile. Netflix has shown to be more judicious in its use of those things. They're content to let their shows just... be themselves.

But still... I can't see ME being adapted well to the screen.

If it is unrelated to the trilogy...and if it IS about the trilogy they better fucking retcon the ending and post a disclaimer afterwards like "yeah we were not gonna go with that nonsense...enjoy a proper ending"

Also, people have this very wrong idea that a film or a TV series with Shepard would somehow make thing canon. That's not true at all. It would be an adaptation, based but different from the games. Just like Game of Thrones. 

That's true, however that's utterly different from make it canon. 

It's the same thing with books and TV shows, only that each one of us read a somewhat different book.

Honestly say any of this did happen, they wouldn't even have to start with the Shepard trilogy. They could go as far back as discovery of the Prothean Ruins on Mars, going through the Relay, or First Contact War. That's about 3 seasons of material right there

Contact.
War.
The best TV series ever made for ME Universe. 
The better way to attract new audience into Mass Effect Universe.
To show them the races for the very first time.
The only problem I see, all the CGI for all the aliens.

So much this.  It's 2017.  People have the money and technology.  It doesn't have to look like a AAA movie, but slightly better than the love action commercials you see for games.

Honestly with all of the superhero shows on TV and netflix, I'm surprised no one has thought to do the same with video games.  

Judging by what they're doing with the Expanse, SyFy might be a good choice. As long as you can stomach the fight scenes being done on a smaller budget than HBO would. For Netflix you'd have to steal some of the people who choreographed the Daredevil fight scenes.
