i'd only go with hbo under one condition: the show would have to be utter perfection, like the wire, and not ultimate trash like game of thrones. that is the worst show that has ever been created...but then again, mass effect is the worst game that has ever been created, so it might be fitting for the tv show to be complete trash too Right, that's why it's become a widely beloved show, won a lot of emmies, and continues to hit new highs with it's ratings. Any book purists or snobs can piss right off. Yeah the show has flaws and it's moments of questionable writing, but the positives continue to outweigh it's negatives, and it has delivered some of the best television moments in history. I get that the show is not everyone's cup of tea, but it's these "Game of Thrones is a bad show" type posts that get on my nerves. I can sit here and say I don't like Seinfeld, but I'd be ignorant to say it's a bad show, because I'd be ignoring the huge success and cultural impact it had during it's time.

I can sit here and say I don't like Seinfeld, but I'd be ignorant to say it's a bad show, because I'd be ignoring the huge success and cultural impact it had during it's time. Popularity, ratings, financial success and cultural impact mean absolutely nothing when it comes to evaluating the quality of tv shows, video games, novels, music etc. Most of the time, the worst shows of all time (eg game of thrones is the single worst TV show of all time) will be the ones that are the most highly regarded, the most highly praised and the most critically acclaimed. Not because they're good, but because the people who praise such trash are either trolls or completely retarded. Practically everyone who views TV shows and plays video games is a full-fledged retard (except for that rare 0.0001% of them who actually aren't retards), and it is these very same retards who continue to sing high praise for the trash that they love so much. And it is nothing more than trash. The exact same thing happened with mass effect - it's the single worst game of all time, yet it's one of the most highly praised games of all time, because a very large group of retards came together and decided to praise this trash. It happens all the time. The only praise that's worth anything is that which comes from those who are capable of evaluating things on the basis of their true quality and value. I love many things, almost all of which are pure trash, but I'd never claim these things to be anything other than trash, no matter how much I love them. If something is objectively trash, then it's actual trash, regardless of how much people enjoy it. It's okay to like trash, but it's bad form to label it as anything better than what it is. That creates very big problems, as it did with mass effect and as it did with game of thrones because it misleads people and gives the wrong impression.

Hmm. Does mixing zany hyperbole and rational discussion actually work for you? I'd think it would just cause the argument to be written off with the nonsense. Of course, you're kind of locked into this persona now, so I guess the question is moot.

Actually, it's the opposite of hectic. Everyone watching their own screens makes for a very quiet room. No conversations, even, because everyone's using headphones. I am referring to do this all on one or on the outskirts two machines -also I don't use headphones -they never stay in. Plus I like audio noise... IT.IS.TOO Quiet here. You'd only need that if you really were going to watch 25 different streams simultaneously. For six or seven Cat5 should work just fine. As the saying goes, the best is the enemy of the good; it seems silly to stick with your rotten connection just because you can't afford gigabit everything. Exactly my point. THAT is what I would want. As to being silly to stick with what I got... the most I can afford right now is the 0.50Mbs. I for one -if I am going to upgrade; I must be able to upgrade EVERYTHING at once... otherwise I see the items that I don't upgrade staring me in the face. Example: I built a computer a while back but could only get one =or rarely two parts a month: Month #1: Case Month #2: Motherboard Month #3: CPU Month #4: 3rd Party Heatsink and so on. After nearly a year had all parts and then finally put it together. Same philosophy when I upgrade/build anything: all at once or not at all.... sure I can stock up and get what is needed but when the time comes it all must get upgraded/built in 4 hours or less. IF I DO NOT do this my mind looks at the items that I don't upgrade till this happens: Must. Upgrade. Everything. Or nothing at all. This build drove me crazy for a while. You can actually find multiple shows worth watching simultaneously? On broadcast TV? I'm lucky to find one in a given time slot, which is why I find Netflix useful. Yes. We get some good local channels here NOT INCLUDING CBS, ABC, NBC, FOX or PBS...though most wouldn't care: Cozi and FETV -got my classics. And though I may get hurt to say it... if all else fails I can fallback on three cable channels: DYI, ID and Science Channel. Something I didn't realize earlier: since you'd be watching HBO, hypothetically, on computers, it's stupid to think of it as a bunch of channels. The channels only exist when using a cable box; over the Internet it's just a big blob of content. Not hypothetically for me. Also the conglomeration is what makes picking through the strata again annoying.

So you're saying it will be successful and great in many people's eyes. Adopting a trash video game to make a trash tv show or trash movie will ultimately gather the attention and love of retards who love trash. I'll take it. It's settled.
