Rate The Marketing

In terms of getting people hyped but it might fail to deliver. Thats why the marketing reminds me of NMS. All the pre-made stuff has been pretty to look at but I want to see whats under the hood, so to speak.

Can't say that the marketing atm is that successfull.

I'm the only one of my friends who follows ME:A via this Forum though we are all fans of the franchise - and not in a casual way. But the rest just knows the content of the trailers. The thing here is that my friends didn't really understand the content of the trailers. It was too fast, too varied with all the scenes. They didn't even know who Ryder was or what the context of the trailers was. Who did they see? What is the story? Where was Shepard or the rest of the team? They didn't know about trailer breakdowns or came across the articles from Gameinformer, IGN and what not. They could just rely on mini articles published here where we live and these articles were partly so missinterpreted or misstranslated that I had to clear a lot of confusion.

They knew one thing: it looked bautifull and so overwhelming that they felt more confused than excited. They weren't that sure to buy the game. The content didn't transport that well.

The only one they really understood was the last one with the companions (though they definetly just understood that we have a krogan in our team ).

So I gave my best friend the link to the mission briefing site a few days ago which helped a lot in grasping lost information. They just didn't know that the site existed in the first place.

And I'm atm something like the informationbroker and answer the questions they have about the game because they are not forum fans and don't want to read books of lore. They don't want to know everything but they have very clear visions how the game should play out and try to grasp all the missed things now. Lots of work for me because thanks to the marketing my Steamchat is more spam then everything else

Garbage. I would have voted could be better, but the last video of them gleefully telling us how they're bribing 6 youtubers with a space camp in the ESA Astronaut Centre further lowered my impression of it.

We should have had long (20+ minutes) gameplay footage at least a year before release. Multiplayer Open Beta at least 3 months before release.

That is the bare minimum one can expect from a triple-A title.

Meh, could be better. But at this point, almost a month to go. Time is a ticking.

38 days away for us Canadians (sincere apologies Europe) and yet we're still in the dark about sooooo much! I mean where's the meat? The trailers? The gameplay? The only videos that really got me hyped were the VGA trailer, AI Pathfinder team trailer, and that last cinematic trailer. The rest are fairly forgettable in my opinion. And that "Become the Pathfinder" trailer is the only BioWare video I've ever disliked. Sorry, didn't mean to rant. Just growing impatient...

It's WHAT it shows, not how much it shows it or how loud it says it

And so far, its on the weak side.

Oh...  Well in that case I'm not alarmed by anything that was shown.

I think we could see more but, honestly, if we did I'd just have to wade through even more nitpicking.

Remains to be seen. Here's to hoping they blow us out of the water in the few weeks leading up to launch.

Dragon Age Inquisition had released a 30 min gameplay video 14 months before the game came out. Big Multiplayer games like Overwatch, Titanfall and Battlefield have beta (either closed or open) 3-6 months before release.



Loyal fanboys (like me) not being able to play it at all till release is secondary. What truly matters is the game being able to sell by the millions, especially if the multiplayer mode is to succeed. And in order to do that, they need to market it like a triple-A game, not like an indie game.
