I've ascended to 900p/30FPS. Get on my xbox level suckers I may grab a scorpio after it releases if reviews are solid and they offer upgrades to games I care about. If not, I'll stick with my current xbox.

I think my PC can run the game just fine. I need a new mouse at some point but unfortunately there is no good replacement for the one I have when it comes to its shape. I totally love the button layout on mine and the huge area on the right for the ring finger and the pinky. I'd also love to have a bigger monitor at some point, because an 34" ultrawide is basically just a 27" with additional space at the sides. So it could be a bit bigger with the same resolution of 3440x1440 though which already needs quite some GPU horsepower in some titles. I'd also like to have some really huge 21:9 monitor (like 75") for some couch-gaming. Unfortunately there are none available...
Anyways, here's my basic hardware setup for Andromeda: MBO Asus ROG Maximus VIII Ranger CPU Intel Core i7 6700K with Noctua NH-U12S GPU Palit GeForce GTX 1080 Super JetStream RAM Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB DDR4-2400 SSD Crucial MX200 1000GB PSU Be Quiet Straight Power 10-CM 600W LCD Dell U3415W

I can probably run it okay on a GeForce 660, we'll see.

I should be OK, I can run Dishonored 2 at about 30 fps on medium resolution without major frame drops. But I might get a new video card although my 760GTX should be generally OKish.

I'll be ascending from five-year-old hardware, if that counts. Not specifically for Andromeda, but it will be happening at about the same time.

I sometimes look at 2nd hand gaming rigs, as i dont care being on the frontier performance wise. But i m a bit lost and a hardware noob. Most of them second hand are 18 month old or more and look not even 20% cheaper... I thought there wld be a big market for those, but i havent found it.

Yeah you're not really going to find many "2nd hand gaming PCs" because most gaming PCs simply get upgraded. I won't have to buy/build another PC for a while, if I do anything it will just be little component parts like bigger RAM or newer Nvidia Card. If you don't yet have a gaming pc, you might ask around your real life friends if some are knowledgable enough to help you put one together. If you know someone, then having them help you pick out parts on a site like newegg.com or tigerdirect.com, and then putting it all together, is a lot cheaper than going to Best Buy and paying retail. You can put together something x4 as powerful for half the cost. And then once it's built, it's all smooth upgrades from there. But that first step is the biggest one.

I can even pay a bit for some small shop to mount it for me.

Asus z170a, i5 6600k, gtx 1070, 16gb gskill ripjaws v ram, samsung 850 evo ssd, hyper 212 evo cpu cooler, aoc g2460pg monitor...think I'm good. If the game is too intense or un-optimized that I can't run with this, I'll be disappointed.

newegg.com has the 6GB EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 for around $260. I might go ahead and get one of these, assuming it will fit in my case. I'll take the measurements later. I'm supposed to be in bed now!

Zotac makes a smaller size 1060 with 6Gb. www.microcenter.com/product/467582/GeForce_GTX_1060_Mini_6GB_GDDR5_Super_Compact_Video_CardThe prices go down though, so you might want to first try it with the old card and see how it goes. And buy something that will surely be better in April or May. I was considering to buy exactly the same thing recently.

And buy something that will surely be better in April or May. I was considering to buy exactly the same thing recently. Yeah that one's got the 6-pin power connection. There are like 2 or 3 variations of the EVGA which have 6-pins, though the vast majority have 8-pins. So will definitely be comparing with the one you posted, though end of the day they're all extremely similar. EVGA does have one 6-pin that's a fullsize card, as opposed to these little halfsize diddies, atm I'm researching if there's an advantage to this (noise/heat levels, etc) UPDATED: www.evga.com/products/Specs/GPU.aspx?pn=06bfa9bd-e2a8-4e5b-9e0c-b76be8756515This is fullsize model. The little ones just have a fan on them, which could mean higher noise and heat levels. This fullsize one has the blower out the port in the back of your PC, meaning hot air is actually circulated out of the pc, making the card not run as hot and the fan not run as much. It would be a really tight fit though, but it should work. UPDATED AGAIN: Here's a post on EVGA forums to beware of cards with ACX 2.0 fans, such as the halfsize cards we're considering. I think the fullsize EVGA with the blower is the best option for 6-pin power connections, especially in light of this. forums.evga.com/CAUTION-Please-think-CAREFULLY-before-buying-cards-with-ACX-ACX-20-cooling-m2219406.aspxThe post refers to dual-fan cards specifically, but EVGAs website details the cooling systems of each model, and the halfsize 6-pins are using ACX 2.0. www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=06G-P4-5161-KRThat said, it looks from the pictures that EVGAs cards have clear vents. I'm not entirely sure what I'm looking at when I view that area of the Zotac.

This is literally not an issue if you have halfway decent airflow inside your case. Now if you're putting it inside a microscopic case, or don't have any case fans at all (in which case what are you doing), then it's something to keep in mind.

I already ascended a long time ago.
I wont be upgrading specifically for ME:A though, so it's 1440p for me rather than glorious 4k.

1070 is a bit pricey for my retired ass, maybe I'll wait until the end of the month and see how much I have leftover.
My case has a huge 12 inch LED fan on the wall opposite the motherboard, so airflow isn't an issue. There's like 5 or 6 fans in here, and I've even got a few more in the box that aren't even installed. I wanted to install them anyway but Rak said I already had enough. Now that he's not looking, I might go ahead and put them in.
He just told me blowers can sometimes be a bit noisey, so that's something to consider. I'm good at tuning out white noise, but I suppose some people aren't and that might matter to them.

For anyone thinking about upgrading, keep an eye on the /r/buildapcsales subreddit, which exists solely to share sales on PC components and other hardware such as mice, keyboards, and monitors. Do your research before pulling the trigger, though. For example, on the first page of the subreddit is this R9 Fury Nitro for $259, or $239 after a mail-in rebate, which puts it in the same price range as most 1060s currently on Amazon US. The Fury is a faster card, but it also draws considerably more power (~270w vs the 120ish of the 1060), so you would need to check to make sure your power supply can handle it.

Not me. Consoles are amazing, i love them, they're better than pc. Games on console have amazing graphics, amazing controls and amazing frame rates. I love using a controller instead of a mouse to aim because it's better, easier, more fun and offers a far superior gaming experience compared to using a mouse on a pc. Console all the way, that's the best way to enjoy games.
