I still haven't decided, so I decided to come here to see what people think. Although I'm kinda half afraid to ask, having read the last 20 or so pages... I'm not judging anyone or saying who is right or wrong about the various issues raised! I'd just like to ask the question: leaving all these issues aside, if possible: if you romanced Suvi and enjoyed it, what made you choose her? I honestly hope I'm not offending anyone, by the way, just sticking my head in asking questions. I read a fair bit of the thread and can see passions are running high on all sides, with relatable points. I'm just interested in the actual romance itself.

I rolled a SisRyder, and while I don't usually plan romance much, I'd thought I'd go for Jaal. Then I heard Suvi I kinda felt a lot of sudden empathy for Sam Traynor's crush on EDI.

Interestingly enough, Suvi is the only romanceable female character on the Tempest with a non-North American accent of some kind.

Agreed. Interestingly enough, Suvi is the only romanceable female character on the Tempest with a non-North American accent of some kind. Also interestingly enough, every lesbian in a BioWare game has been voiced by someone from the British Isles. The fatigue is real. You know, combined with 2/3 of the characters in SWTOR, and most of the characters in Dragon Age (especially since they decided to change city elves after Origins). I will say that I'd much rather hear an Irish or Scottish voice than an English one out of a BioWare character at this point. I am disappointed that Suvi is soft-spoken because I naturally associate the whole Gorbals/Motherwell/various Glaswegian regional accents with swearing loudly and creatively and being really angry.

It'd be cool to have a f/f option with a Pakistani accent, tbh.

It'd be cool to have a f/f option with a Pakistani accent, tbh. Yeah. Bringing in Kumail Nanjiani was rad for a bunch of reasons, but variety was pretty high up there. I also liked what they did with Voeld angara and Havarl angara. If only they weren't all, y'know, straight.

Well, Voeld angara (e.g. Evfra) mostly have Strayan accents, or something close to it. I think the name of the city Estraaja and the way they pronounce it is a joke about that. Other than Miri, we haven't had much Straya in the series so it's kinda nice. And Havarl angara (e.g. Jaal) mostly have southern and central African accents (Nyasha Hatendi being Zimbabwe-descent and living in the US and UK). Again, a nice bit of variety.

Haven't posted on here in quite a while (and only posted a few times since the great migration from the original BSN!), and this is my first time posting in the ME threads. I'm currently about 20 hours in and am torn about who to romance. I was all set on finally getting in on that Hot Turian Action, but I'm weak for Scots women - and Ryder devolving into a complete dork when trying to flirt with Suvi is just hilarious and adorable. For me, there are two things that made me choose Suvi. First is just her character. I love her personality and really loved how they handled her being a person of faith and science. Second is how the romance was done. I love how there is finally a LI in Mass Effect with a bunch of content that has a romance that can be interpreted as not involving sex instead of forcing that on you.

Lol, I just like to bone women. This thread has gone too many places. So have Suvi and Ryder in their quest to fuck in as many places as possible. Have they managed the Tempest bridge yet? Or the escape pod. Airlock? Nomad? Kitchen? Engineering (Top Shepard/Miranda!)? Research room? A cutscene of Suvi licking a rock, wasted opportunity is wasted Bioware. Still cute as fuck, though. Haven't posted on here in quite a while (and only posted a few times since the great migration from the original BSN!), and this is my first time posting in the ME threads. Can verify, Liam's "I'm interested" line equally goofy, but I don't think it's as cute. May be biased in Suvi's favor, however. As much as I like Liam, this is the perfect woman we're talking about.

Have they managed the Tempest bridge yet? "H-hey, Suvi..." "Hey yourself! What can we do for you up here?" "Haaahhh...oh, right. Kallo...uh...I heard Gil say he was just going to yolo the drive core repairs with, um, a blowtorch and...a digging bar?" "That asshole! Why didn't you stop him???...Never mind, I need to get down there before there's any permanent damage!" [...] "Dammit, Ryder...Ryder? RYDER! RYDER THIS DOOR ISN'T SOUNDPROOF. WE CAN HEAR BOTH OF YOU!...I HOPE YOU AREN'T IN MY CHAIR!" still holds up even though we had this conversation before release

Multiple people including Katy and Sheryl herself had to speak up and confirm that Suvi is a lesbian bc of this I'd be nice not to continue spreading it around.

I was wondering if it was just something personal like that or if it was going to be brought up on Twitter or in one of your Youtube videos or something.
