I probably should post this in the Sara thread but I have my own reasons for not posting there. So anyway just once in a BioWare game it would be nice to have the ability to actually speak to a character without being handicapped by the responses that don't fit the sexuality of my character. Mostly I'm speaking of the conversations with Gil, just once I'd like to be able to pick an option that I might actually say. Instead of always having two options that never fit. And I must also say I'm getting really tired of having Liam and Jaal walking around naked. Damned SINJW always shoving hetero down my throat. Just had to say that just once in my life. Lol I know dat feel sis, so does my Sara... negative infinity, I don't like it. Jaal's body, bleurgh.

I've been putting off going to Liam's room but I guess I have no choice if I want to do his loyalty mission. lol
But I don't wanna go! *Whine*
I guess the scene could have been worse, they could have included Drack, oh crap now I know I'm going to have nightmares. Lol

Whenever I try to google this question I end up with HOW to romance any character. She has given Ida Ryder tea and there are no more conversation options. Have gotten the snacks for her. With Gil, I had to wait until post mission 6 to consummate the romance, but I don't even know where I am with Suvi. The next in line was another cup o' tea and a kiss. How long must I wait?? Is there something I'm missing??

If you mean getting it on in the sheets, I think that's just implied for Suvi.

After that you have to go to the science labs on the Nexus which is on the second floor of the Docking Area next to the Cultural Center. That triggers the romance culmination scene.

Have done the Khi Tasral (?) and dropped all three probes. We've talked about the angarans and their conception. Ah well. I'm heading for home on this one. Maybe try another day to win Suvi's heart. Thank you Hanako Ikezawa. If I can still scrounge this romance, lemme know?

During my nice triangle playthrough, Suvi invited Sara to have a break with her, which is when she asked if they're "really doing this" to which I could answer with an interrupt (kiss) a yes, or let her down (which meant Sara said something about meaning a close friends relationship or something). Since in that PT I went for Liam, I did not actually finish the romance. Doing it now in NG+ (I'm actually doing the exact same triangle, just with a different outcome)

I'm doing a different run through now (romance Liam) and if I have flamingoed up with Suvi and Ida, I can try again with Electricboogaloo Ryder. Although now that I am going Liam's way, the Suvimance will probably work. Thanks Serza.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's posted about how annoying that is! Ugh! Both options sound like an outsider looking in rather than someone who could relate to Gil (and both kind of suck in general, which makes it even worse). Why is the only way for our characters to show their orientation to do a romance? Other characters show it all the time, just not the PC. And moments like these are a natural way for it to be brought up. We had the same problem in DA:I with Dorian's conversation about his situation, and no way to relate to him as a gay woman. It makes it hard to do the convo, because it seems like such an obvious thing to bring up. You could even have different responses to describe your family's stance, like earlier when talking to Josephine. For example "I'm sorry Dorian, my parents put my happiness over political alliances. I wish yours did too" or "That probably would have happened to me too if I didn't have four older siblings" (I'm not a writer, just spit-balling general sentiments). But nope, can't have things like that. Your character is Straight Until Proven Otherwise™, and the only way to prove otherwise is do a romance (which I didn't do with my canon in DA:I). Not quite related, but I had to side-eye the codex after talking to Gil about his baby. I literally said his idea was "insane" (because I hate Jill on a meta-level), but the codex said Ryder supported his idea But yeah, I agree on the dialogue thing. Having only two dialogue options all the time is extremely limiting. *Holds back urge to do an epic rant about only having 2 options the vast majority of the time, even in situations that really need more* And I must also say I'm getting really tired of having Liam and Jaal walking around naked. Damned SINJW always shoving hetero down my throat. Just had to say that just once in my life. Lol I know dat feel sis, so does my Sara... negative infinity, I don't like it. Jaal's body, bleurgh. Not really adding anything, just echoing you If you mean getting it on in the sheets, I think that's just implied for Suvi. But how do you actually lock in the romance? By this time Gil was considered Ryder's LI as is Cora. You'll know you locked in the romance if you immediately talk to SAM and are asked about your partner, or if you get an email from Suvi (both of which you can do directly after the tea scene in the same room), or by asking Lexi how Suvi's doing, or going to the bridge and hearing Suvi and Kallo discuss her relationship. There are a lot of ways, now that I think about it However, I'm pretty sure you have to take the kissherupt™ to lock-in, even if you say "Yes, this is happening", because I tried that and didn't get any of the above indicators. I'm still confused about that.

Okay guys, I'm on my 2nd playthrough as Fryder and I'm stuck on who to romance this time (my 1st one was a guy who romanced Peebee).
The choices are Jaal, Vetra and Suvi.
Now convince me why I should romance Suvi.

I wish the dialogue options would disappear once they're played out. It's also really easy to miss stuff and have missions and things not trigger. But, you know, I really wanted to romance someone who licks rocks.

Hopefully there haven't been too many entitled straight guys.BANSHEE!!! *glomp* Oh and btw, I'm stealing your Drack gif, it's just too damn awesome not too. Heeeeeeeey! Not that I haven't seen you recently Awesome, glad you like it! Thanks! Suvi is awesome. Random Suvi gif. Suvi and Kallo as notoriously gay best friends. :amirite: Kallo was the perfect opportunity to have an explicitly asexual romance... To quote Harbinger: Potential wasted.Okay guys, I'm on my 2nd playthrough as Fryder and I'm stuck on who to romance this time (my 1st one was a guy who romanced Peebee). The choices are Jaal, Vetra and Suvi. Now convince me why I should romance Suvi. Well, what kind of character do you want to play? If you try to play Sara as even more of a wondrous explorer than she always is, she has great chemistry with Suvi (Jaal too, though). Her romance is sweet, and unique in Bioware games in that it focuses on her mind as the primary source of attraction for Sara, and common interests are a big part of it. She's a mildly-socially-inept dork who often zones out, and Sara is pretty awkward and adorable as well. If you like that, you should try it. If not, don't bother. And I won't lie, she doesn't have nearly as much total content as the squad, so that sucks a lot However, I'm pretty sure you have to take the kissherupt™ to lock-in, even if you say "Yes, this is happening", because I tried that and didn't get any of the above indicators. I'm still confused about that. I haven't even had the kissrupt. sigh. And I don't want to keep having the same dialogue just to chat with her. I wish the dialogue options would disappear once they're played out. It's also really easy to miss stuff and have missions and things not trigger. But, you know, I really wanted to romance someone who licks rocks. The Kissherupt™ is in the scene where you drink tea, and you should get it if you've taken all (most?) of her flirts. It's after Hunting the Archon. Ha, you have no idea how many times I tried talking to her, just in case, without anything new to talk about. Some characters say new things even if you click on greyed-out lines, but I never had that happen with Suvi, so you shouldn't need to bother. I always enjoy hearing her say "Ry-dur" and "Sounds good!" though. That voice.Anyway, hope you get it figured out! The best girls are the ones who lick rocks

Now convince me why I should romance Suvi. That is an easy choice. Suvi is the Perfect Woman. Jaal is an alien... and Vetra, while awesome herself, simply isn't the Perfect Woman. Sorry, Vetra, but there's simply someone... better. Suvi is awkward, cute, clever, and I could go on here. She has basically all of the qualities. Plus the voice. Yup. That accent. Sara mentions exactly that, too. (And this is my thing, but towards the end of the game, you find out Suvi voluntarily takes up firearm training, in case the Tempest gets boarded or she has to defend herself for whatever reason, which makes her all the better. You can rush to the rescue in a relative peace of mind, because you know your girl can handle herself.)

That, combined with her telling Sara that she might let her train her when things are settled (between games), makes me foolishly hope that she'll be a squadmate in the next game. I doubt it'll actually happen, but I think it would be so cool! We've had a lot of squadmates become NPCs, but almost never the opposite. I think it would be really cool to see her grow as a character, and do her character justice. We'd get to hear her banter on missions, and be a battle couple if applicable. She'd get a loyalty mission and more scenes (can you tell I'm pissed about the handling of the crew in ME:A yet?) She'd be a support Engineer with a focus on omnitool abilities, like elemental attacks and melees. It's been ages since we had an elemental Engineer (Mordin), and we didn't even have an Engineer in ME:A. I think it would be cool if she used a Remnant weapon of some kind - something ranged. I'm imagining standard but modified Initiative armour, with plenty of lights for a techy feel, and her standard science officer colour scheme (which is what I originally went with in my playthrough): And before anyone says it, we've had plenty of squadmates before who weren't soldiers, like Tali or Kasumi. I don't think it would be out of place. In addition, I thought it was kind of dumb that we didn't have any scientists in the squad to begin with. Like, isn't that the point of the Initiative? Not to mention the fact that all personnel apparently have basic combat training, for defense. You'd think a Pathfinder team would include experts in various fields, not just combat specialists. And she could still fill the role of Science Officer aboard the Tempest. Peebee managed to do projects and be in the squad at once, so why not Suvi? Not like you actually saw her work on much anyway.Yeah, I've given this a lot of thought Don't mind me, I'm just fangirling

(And this is my thing, but towards the end of the game, you find out Suvi voluntarily takes up firearm training, in case the Tempest gets boarded or she has to defend herself for whatever reason, which makes her all the better. You can rush to the rescue in a relative peace of mind, because you know your girl can handle herself.) That, combined with her telling Sara that she might let her train her when things are settled (between games), makes me foolishly hope that she'll be a squadmate in the next game. Not like you actually saw her work on much anyway.Yeah, I've given this a lot of thought Don't mind me, I'm just fangirling I would love if some of our crewmates became squadmates in MEA2 if we continue as Ryder. Bioware has never done anything like before, but there is a first time for everything. I agree with you about her loadout, though instead of a Remnant weapon I see her using a Milky Way weapon that has been modified with Remnant tech, so for example it shoots lasers rather than bullets. Yeah, the old games like KOTOR had everyone on your ship be able to go out in the field as squadmates while still take care of the stuff they did on the ship. I don't see Kallo ever being an option since he needs to fly the ship but I can see the others like Operative Suvi or Medic Lexi(to use ME1 specializations as class names).

I'd absolutely LOVE to have Suvi in the squad in MEA2. I especially liked her learning to shoot towards the end of the game (definite tie-in to Ryder offering to teach her at the beginning), and it'd be cool as hell to have her along later. The ONLY reason Suvi isn't my favorite romance is the relative lack of content comparative to crew romances. She's my favorite CHARACTER for a LI, I just wanted more content. Peebee is quite awesome too, and Suvi unfortunately suffers from less content syndrome. If Suvi had more content, she'd definitely be my canon LI. Oh, btw, BansheeOwnage seeing as how I'm a male who is comfortable in his heterosexuality, can I be allowed to fangirl about Suvi too? Edit: I hope that last bit doesn't come out creepy sounding. That was certainly not my intent. You can ask my wife, she tells me all the time that I've got a way of seeing the world and people that's atypical for a male, almost feminine, but I'm not a trans. I'm comfortable in my own body, I just have a bit more innate empathy than alot of guys.

I'm comfortable in my own body, I just have a bit more innate empathy than alot of guys. Eh, at least you've got some empathy. We could do with more of that in these forums, honestly. But back on topic, Suvi definitely needed more content, though I feel she's in a better place than Gil in that her story is more intrinsic and not having to do with some lady telling her she needs to reproduce. So basically, it's not really the kind of story that's bad, they just needed to explore more of it. Maybe see her struggle a bit more, since that'd make her story about faith a little more...relatable, I guess? Anyways, if they have her return, I hope they don't just have more of the same and give us some kind of logical conclusion to her arc. That might depend on her writer staying on though, and we don't know right now if Chee intends on writing for a sequel to ME. Or even if they'll continue with the same cast.
