Hope they give Suvi more content in DLC.
I really liked her character interactions with Sara and the rest of the crew, but it felt less than what the squad got.
Though quality over quantity right? I know Jaal had lots and lots of dialogue but I don't remember half the stuff that happened with him, lol.
I need to replay the game and pay attention to more of the story.

We've had a lot of squadmates become NPCs, but almost never the opposite. Don't mind me, I'm just fangirling I would love if some of our crewmates became squadmates in MEA2 if we continue as Ryder. Bioware has never done anything like before, but there is a first time for everything. I agree with you about her loadout, though instead of a Remnant weapon I see her using a Milky Way weapon that has been modified with Remnant tech, so for example it shoots lasers rather than bullets. Yeah, the old games like KOTOR had everyone on your ship be able to go out in the field as squadmates while still take care of the stuff they did on the ship. I don't see Kallo ever being an option since he needs to fly the ship but I can see the others like Operative Suvi or Medic Lexi(to use ME1 specializations as class names). Actually, not quite never. They did it with EDI! NPC in ME2, squadmate in ME3 Good idea about the weapon. I wanted to use a beam Avenger myself, but sadly it was so bad that I couldn't justify it. Hope they patch that augmentation. Visually, a new weapon that crossed the Remnant and MW aesthetics would be pretty cool, too. Need to draw it. Oh, btw, BansheeOwnage seeing as how I'm a male who is comfortable in his heterosexuality, can I be allowed to fangirl about Suvi too? Sure, let's have all the fangirling. Can't sustain this thread on my own! ...Or can I? Hi Suvi thread! I brought you a present~ I feel like Suvi is the kind of girl who is adept at unhooking a bra one-handed, so ... Maybe because she was like SAM and pretty much a squadmate in ME2 just didn't take up a slot. They've never done it with a flesh and blood organic then. I can see them doing weapons that are visually a hybrid of designs. They've done that with the Heleus Defender Armor(speaking of I could see an unique version of the light or medium version being her armor). What do you think her three powers would be?

Suvi is awkward, cute, clever, and I could go on here. She has basically all of the qualities. Plus the voice. Yup. That accent. Sara mentions exactly that, too. (And this is my thing, but towards the end of the game, you find out Suvi voluntarily takes up firearm training, in case the Tempest gets boarded or she has to defend herself for whatever reason, which makes her all the better. You can rush to the rescue in a relative peace of mind, because you know your girl can handle herself.) That, combined with her telling Sara that she might let her train her when things are settled (between games), makes me foolishly hope that she'll be a squadmate in the next game. I doubt it'll actually happen, but I think it would be so cool! We've had a lot of squadmates become NPCs, but almost never the opposite. I think it would be really cool to see her grow as a character, and do her character justice. We'd get to hear her banter on missions, and be a battle couple if applicable. She'd get a loyalty mission and more scenes (can you tell I'm pissed about the handling of the crew in ME:A yet?) She'd be a support Engineer with a focus on omnitool abilities, like elemental attacks and melees. It's been ages since we had an elemental Engineer (Mordin), and we didn't even have an Engineer in ME:A. I think it would be cool if she used a Remnant weapon of some kind - something ranged. I'm imagining standard but modified Initiative armour, with plenty of lights for a techy feel, and her standard science officer colour scheme (which is what I originally went with in my playthrough): And before anyone says it, we've had plenty of squadmates before who weren't soldiers, like Tali or Kasumi. I don't think it would be out of place. In addition, I thought it was kind of dumb that we didn't have any scientists in the squad to begin with. Like, isn't that the point of the Initiative? Not to mention the fact that all personnel apparently have basic combat training, for defense. You'd think a Pathfinder team would include experts in various fields, not just combat specialists. And she could still fill the role of Science Officer aboard the Tempest. Peebee managed to do projects and be in the squad at once, so why not Suvi? Not like you actually saw her work on much anyway.Yeah, I've given this a lot of thought Don't mind me, I'm just fangirling I dunno, you can ask (as a flirt when she's introducing you to the bridge) if she's headed out with you on missions and her response is rather on the "God, no, I'm too scared of that to do it" ...and you might think "Wait what, did this guy really say that?" but that actually adds to her with me. Anyway, it means that I can't see her as a squadmate. Definitely could be temporary, think... Ugh, Drack when you fight Kett at future-Prodromos, before setting the place up for real. He's not a squadmate but he's in that fight. Also I'm not sure whether she'd be an Engie, can definitely imagine her having to go places to do stuff and you're simply covering her, but she has just armor, PDW (that's for Personal Defence Weapon, think something with punch but light, she's not there to fight, so Hurricane or the like) and, funnily enough, soldier abilities. She's a clever scientist, but Cora only trains her with weapons, and while she has Shield Boost, her main thing are Biotics, which Suvi doesn't have. So unless you have a Techie Sara who actually teaches her between games, Suvi only has weapons training. Weaker than the squad though, think Ryder's current strength -15-20 levels. Also hanging back, shooting at targets of opportunity. She's not a combatant to me, just someone who is willing to do what's necessary. I would love if some of our crewmates became squadmates in MEA2 if we continue as Ryder. I'd absolutely LOVE to have Suvi in the squad in MEA2. I especially liked her learning to shoot towards the end of the game (definite tie-in to Ryder offering to teach her at the beginning), and it'd be cool as hell to have her along later. The ONLY reason Suvi isn't my favorite romance is the relative lack of content comparative to crew romances. She's my favorite CHARACTER for a LI, I just wanted more content. Peebee is quite awesome too, and Suvi unfortunately suffers from less content syndrome. If Suvi had more content, she'd definitely be my canon LI. Oh, btw, BansheeOwnage seeing as how I'm a male who is comfortable in his heterosexuality, can I be allowed to fangirl about Suvi too? Edit: I hope that last bit doesn't come out creepy sounding. That was certainly not my intent. You can ask my wife, she tells me all the time that I've got a way of seeing the world and people that's atypical for a male, almost feminine, but I'm not a trans. I'm comfortable in my own body, I just have a bit more innate empathy than alot of guys. We better be let. Perfect Woman, yeah.

It's too bad I took so long to finish the game; I missed all of the discussion about my favourite character So in order to generate discussion, let's talk about... music! (I'm going somewhere relevant with this, I promise ) The ME:A soundtrack was disappointing to me. Other than a few tracks ( A Better Beginning - the main theme, A Trail of Hope - Basically the Tempest's theme, and Heleus, which is a remix of the original Uncharted Worlds), I didn't find a lot of it memorable, especially compared to the trilogy's OSTs, which makes it all the more disappointing. Why they didn't get any composers who worked on the OT to return is beyond me. I'm sure they were more than capable of making something Mass Effect-y yet still new. It would have sounded right, and judging from their work, been better. Or they could have at least hired Trevor Morris, since he's worked with Bioware recently. Even worse than being bland, though, a lot of the time it's simply... absent. There's a general lack of music in the game. DA:I had the same problem in zones, but other than that it had a strong soundtrack that played appropriately. I'm a musical person (play piano, woo), and I value soundtracks and the impact they have on storytelling when used correctly. That means emotions. Amplifying them, even playing with them sometimes, setting the tone, etc. Good music can make up for sub-par dialogue, or vice versa of course. A lot of the movies and games I think of as classics have memorable soundtracks that got you into the scenes - making you sad, pumping you up. I feel life it's not insignificant, and the overall reaction to ME:A would have been slightly better if it had a better, more used, score. Imagine how much worse the Suicide Mission would be without, well, Suicide Mission playing in it. Conversely, imagine how awesome ME:A would have been if it had something like that. And so I come to my point. For the first time in a Bioware game, I played a romance without any music. Because it simply didn't have any. There is no real romance theme in ME:A*, and it's really bizarre. Even though I wasn't a fan of DA:I's Thedas Love Theme (the only track I didn't like), at least it existed. And you have memorable ones from DA:O (Don't know about DA2), ME1, ME2, and of course the Gold Standard of I Was Lost Without You from ME3, and like everything else, it really added to the experience. Not having one in Suvi's culmination scene also adds to the feeling that there's still more to come, if you've played other Bioware romances. It would come on, and you'd think "This is it." But there isn't anything, so it's a little jarring. Although I suppose I shouldn't say there is no music... the drowned-out bass of the Vortex lounge is audible during the scene Which is totally counterproductive to emotion-setting, ha Well, unless you're the kind of person who plays music while you... you know. Hey, no judgements Sad thing is, even if you disable music in settings, it still plays (since it's not part of the soundtrack, but rather in-world music), so there's nothing you can do. *Upon searching for the ME:A Expanded Soundtrack (all of the stuff that isn't in the official soundtrack for... reasons - don't know why they always leave stuff out ), I discovered that there is, in fact, a romance suite. It's... not much, though, ambient at best. Don't know why it wasn't used in Suvi's scene, though. Anyway, after thinking about what a shame it is that there's no appropriate music in Suvi's scene, I did what Banshee often does. I said: So I experimented with a few things in both the tea scene and culmination scene, with varying degrees of success. I saw that I Was Lost Without You was almost exactly the same length as the scene, so I tried putting it in, and it fit surprisingly well! A little sad - since, you know, ME3 - but even the timing in the track was great. If anyone's interested, I can upload the video. My posts always turn out longer than I plan Thoughts on any of that, thread?

Haha, amazing use of that gif, Hanako And lauratsoni you thought my Ryder was cute in my avatar, here's the scene it's from Okey doke, here it goes: As I mentioned, the tone is a little sadder than it should be, but overall I think it works wonders. The timing is great. And it helps drown out the drowned-out bass, though not completely

I can't explain it either, but it is charming. Is it bad that I get mildly disappointed if Kallo greets me instead? I also like how she says my name... for obvious reasons. Ry-dur. And the "Sounds good!" too. Means I talk to her a lot just to hear that greeting. I really like Suvi. I'm not sure what it is, but the way she says "hello" when Ryder returns to the Tempest is charming. And saying Welcome back To be honest, is there anything she says that doesn't sound cool/charming? Most huggable character in MEA? Definitely! Too bad even in her romance you can't hug her. Not even once. There's even a hug tease! Sara: Aww, do you need a hug? This is the closest you get. It's very nice, but not a hug.

When is the shy hug refusal?
(Seriously, girl can be shy, too? Twist the blade more, BioWare. I dare you.)
And yes, Kallo greeting you is disappointing. I don't know why, but I swear that in the cockpit, there's a lot more women's voices than men's. Mostly because I don't really talk to Kallo nearly as much as Suvi, eh...

When is the shy hug refusal? (Seriously, girl can be shy, too? Twist the blade more, BioWare. I dare you.) As Hanako said, on Meridian. Here's the scene. No, Suvi, it's not even a tad embarrassing. And I'm like, the most awkward person ever. It wouldn't annoy me so much if she had other hugs. I've been spoiled by Cullen's romance, since it has plenty of them. And they're one of the best things in life! If she won't even give you a hug when the people around aren't even paying attention to you, imagine how embarrassed she must have been when this happened! Oops? Although, it's sort of inconsistent. She's fine with flirting with you in front of Kallo, or cuddling during Movie Night while everyone's there. Maybe I'll just headcanon that Sara just goes ahead and hugs her instead of asking if she needs one

Remember in DA2 when Hawke locks in with a LI, that LI attire changes? Maybe Suvi wears the same, but the color is different. Maybe that will happen in the next game or one of the dlc's.

When is the shy hug refusal? (Seriously, girl can be shy, too? Twist the blade more, BioWare. I dare you.) As Hanako said, on Meridian. Here's the scene. (Video was here) No, Suvi, it's not even a tad embarrassing. Maybe I'll just headcanon that Sara just goes ahead and hugs her instead of asking if she needs one Maybe Suvi is just more comfortable being affectionate with Ryder around the Tempest crew? But, there should have been a narrative interrupt to hug her.

I was called Ryder before it was cool... ...I'd love to, you know, be social and things.

Suvi's new look! She doesn't have a new look (besides the oily hair everyone's been cursed with), she just looks hugely different depending on the lighting. All characters do, and you'll probably notice it the most with Ryder simply because of screentime, but Suvi in particular gets stuck with some really weird and/or bad lighting in the game. For instance, take a look at the above picture (where she looks kind of derpy), and compare it to these: In this scene, the lighting seems to be doing everything it can to highlight her skin's wrinkles and blemishes, making her look older (not that we know how old she even is). Her blush is really obvious, too. Here she just looks... orange Orange is my favourite colour. Here, it's almost like the image has been desaturated somewhat, removing the intensity of the colour. Not just her face, but her hair, (dead, pre-patch) eyes, and clothes as well. This kind of lighting on the bridge is why some people thought she was blonde before launch. Whereas here it's basically the opposite, there's a lot of colour. Her face is fairly red, like the blood is rushing there. Actually, considering what's going on, it probably is. This image looks the most balanced to me, and she doesn't look strange at all, which is why it's probably the best shot of her I have. There's my unwanted, overly-long explanation No, Suvi, it's not even a tad embarrassing. And I'm like, the most awkward person ever. It wouldn't annoy me so much if she had other hugs. I've been spoiled by Cullen's romance, since it has plenty of them. And they're one of the best things in life! But, there should have been a narrative interrupt to hug her. I guess. A hug just seems like such a... tame thing to get embarrassed about. Everyone hugs, it doesn't even have to be romantic. Agreed. Again, I probably wouldn't have made this post if you could hug her at least once otherwise.
