Interestingly, although I'm a straight man and so theoretically I'm catered for everywhere, I'm a tall-ish man with a narrow build and I don't really identify with or aspire to be the "gruff musclebound male military hero with a buzzcut" archetype, so I also take the opportunity to step away from it whenever I can. I think that's part of the reason why I have actually tended to prefer to play as women in recent BioWare games. I've played as both genders in all the games but my canon has lately been female, and I do tend to prefer it if I actually fancy the love interest so they've all ended up being lesbians. My recent canons are Femshep and Liara, sarcastic female Hawke and Isabela, and an Elven mage with Sera (yes that last one needed a very particular world view to work.) Only in DAO is my canon hero male, a circle mage who romanced Morrigan. I think that could actually change with this game, as I do find myself liking both VAs pretty much equally, and the Ryders don't seem like such typical military-style protagonists. I'm actually not sure which gender I'll choose for my first playthrough...Well for me it goes like this... ME Trilogy: Femshep/Liara is my OTP DA: Dalish SheElf/Leliana is my OTP ^ Those two characters, Leliana and Liara have yet to be equaled for me when it comes to god tier waifu status. I'm hoping ME:A will be the game that can give me another character that comes close or even equals this personal standard. DA2: Sarcastic FemHawke and Izzy, for lolz and feels. DAI: Non-religious and lordy I need to stress this, non-devout Dalish mage with Sera. Y'all know why. Makes me curious now yourfunnyuncle you'll probably have to go out of your preferred game style with Cora, yes? Seeing as I'm pretty certain she'll be yet another straight starting human companion. #the salt is real

It felt like there was some chemistry between her and Scott in those opening scenes, but that was probably just wishful thinking on my part...

Interesting that some of you liked the Cullen romance. Do you generally find it easier to RP as your own gender and romance someone you wouldn't normally find attractive or to RP a different gender in order to romance someone you fancy who has a different sexual orientation? I personally find it easier to play as a woman and do a lesbian romance than to RP as a gay man, although I did like Dorian's romance. In my case with Bioware games I have one rule, my canon characters are going to be always queer because is my way to swim against the heteronormative mainstream wave, I've never had a problem playing as straight character because that is pretty much the norm in the mainstream media and I'm used to it, but when a game gives me the power to choose is a no-brainer for me. It has a lot of influence too if I like the character or not as LI, if I hadn't liked Iron Bull as LI I would have chosen Josie as canon LI because I don't like Dorian as LI, but just as friend, same with Isabela, I liked her romance equally to those of Fenris and Anders, but she's the only romance in DA2 who is "angst free" because is a chick who doesn't give a damn about anything and I love melting her cold heart I'm planning a straight Cass romance with a dwarf, I could ever not do that with a male human because of the heteronormative thing, but with a dwarf? Bring it on! i'm chuckling because i JUST started a cadash with that same intention. i adore cassandra, and if i can't be gay/bi with her, well at least i can indulge my love of height differences, hehe.

I thought Samantha and Cortez looked good. Better than Ashley and Kaidan. They both look good. Some folks posted that it was unfortunate that Sam didn't look like her VA, Alix Wilton Regan. Ashley and Kaidan looked fine. My only problem with Ashley is her hair. I would have it tied up in a bun like in ME1/2

Suvi Anwar is a member of the Nexus’ science team, and holds advanced degrees in astrophysics and molecular biology. In a screening interview, she stated that she was from a “large, rather boisterous family” of five children. Her neuroscientist mother and mathematician father exposed her and her siblings to science from a young age, which sparked a lifelong love of the subject. Suvi declares that there was no hesitation on her part in signing up for the Andromeda Initiative, once she learned of its existence, owing to a desire to see and experience more than one small corner of this vast universe. [x]not sure if we knew this before, but it's the first time i've seen this info at least!
