It's probably her in this shot Maybe she underwent change in appearance since the time of shot in the OP's post. Wouldn't be the first NPC. I don't think that is her. Why would our science officer be going out into the field in full combat gear? Meanwhile the character on the first page is literally sitting in the seat Bioware stated was the science officer's station. Unless Suvi had a color change very recently, it's very unlikely that image in the OP is her. For all we know, that could be her assistant or an intern (joking slightly). There could be all sorts of reasons for why she may have to go into the field, considering she is a scientist. It's too early to know, but the redhead in this image is far more likely to be Suvi than the one in the OP.

That would be wonderful, I love Cait in FO4, but I don't know if I am prepared to hear "meself" and "shite" in two games. Cait was Irish, Suvi is Scottish. I haven't hear a Scottish person sound like Cait. It might also be worth noting that Cait spoke fairly improperly, whereas Suvi is a scientist (which suggests but doesn't confirm that she'll be slightly more eloquent).

Meanwhile the character on the first page is literally sitting in the seat Bioware stated was the science officer's station. Why is it hard to believe she would be wearing combat gear? Maybe she's going on a mission that requires her talents. Ryder and squadmates escort her to whatever location and keep an eye out for any enemies in the area while she does whatever needs to be done. Normally in cases such as that the combat people go in first, secure the area, and then the scientists are brought in. So it's not so much her wearing combat gear, but that person also being outfitted with weapons that seems off. I think that person could be a major character, but not Suvi.

Interesting info about Suvi: Aboard the Tempest--the ship that players will use to travel around Andromeda's Helius Cluster--I encountered one such person: Suvi. She's staring out into the the depths of space and admiring the view. To her, the distant stars and majestic planetary bodies are "a constant reminder of the divine intelligence behind all of creation."
Like Thane, Suvi reconciles two parts of her that, to outsiders, seem contradictory: she's a woman of science, but also of faith. During our conversation she reveals science brings her closer to something greater than herself. She's lived her life having to justify these beliefs and needing to prove that her faith in the divine doesn't diminish her work as a scientist. ...Oh. And it started off so well, too. I can see the appeal of exploring a religious scientist as a character, but not sure how I'd like them as a romance option (and I know we don't know if she even is one yet). Being religious wouldn't necessarily be a deal-breaker in a relationship for me, but I have a hard time seeing such disparate worldviews working in tandem. Ingame, it'll depend heavily on what kind of dialogue options Sara has, too. That's a strange leap to make. Someone being religious isn't mutually exclusive with enjoying sex. Ashley Williams, for example, is pretty into sex. I don't see why Suvi wouldn't. If she is romanceable. Especially considering her religion is probably not a real-world one; there isn't much logic in transposing current religious ideas onto it ( ideas that are becoming superannuated even by the standards of most religious people anyway).

And she can't wait in the shuttle for that to happen? Even if the area is secured, doesn't mean an enemy won't show up, right? As far as the weapons go, she may have some training to use them.

I'm hoping she looks like the OP's pic. Not because of hair color but because we can see her super serious face if we squint. I like that she looks a little less feminine.

My interest in this character has now increased. This is a damn fine combination. And, her Irish accent in FO4 was pretty terrible.

Curious how Scottish she'll be? The "not Scottish enough" lilt she jokes cost her a job in this interview, or the full-on Scots she sports in this demo reel.(Incidentally, why does Hollywood never hire actual Irish people to play Irish characters? They know Irish actors exist, right?)

BTW, I'm also curious why they can't hire one dude out of millions Russian immigrants instead of using some awful pseudo-Russian language like on Bourne's passport in Bourne Identity.

I've done some research and it turns out that so far only people who played Sara flirted with Suvi. The source which said she flirted with Scott as well is based on blatant lack of reading comprehension, because it gets the idea from this sentence:
Someone apparently didn't figure out that the flirting remark applies only to the last person listed, meaning Gil.
I asked Ryan King (who wrote preview for godisageek.com, the one that mentioned Suvi falling for Ryder fairly quickly) who he played as and he replied saying it was Sara. So far Sara semi-confirmation only then.

I think it'd be hilarious if Suvi has all the intensity of an angsty guy from some anime. She dramatically turns to the window, talking about the meaning of existence with all the prose of a 19th century poet.

I mean, Solas was pretty angsty and tortured, if there was a female Solas I would have jumped that, yunno, minus the betrayal tho.

Yeah, we've never really had a stoic, serious, angsty kind of f/f love interest. Most of them had some angst, but it wasn't related to their personality, tbh.

Not that there is anything wrong with being a butch, everyone has their place. Like you, some variety in queer women would be nice yup. As for me, not sure where I fall, perhaps leaning towards androgynous trash with tattoos but with a love for make-up so... I don't know. Bah, labels.

I think that they won't do that for fear of being "stereotypical" despite the fact that there is nothing wrong with stereotypes if they are just part of the landscape. If every f/f option was butch, yeah, I'd side eye them. But it's not any better to have no butch options either. I want full-on bull dyke butch personally, but I'd settle for a soft butch gal!
