It's not like that is your only option. PeeBee certainly isn't that, Vetra isn't that. That's only one in three romances like that. You have options, and those who want that have an option. Nah, there's enough naive, young girl characters in media, imo. You're free to what you want, but I desperately do not want them continue the trend of the young, naive f/f options. So you want to deprive people of options they like? Hypocrite.

Please don't take it personally, and I have no control over what she's going to be like anyways.

You know, I didn't see anything in there about what religion she follows. I'm curious if it's not even a conventional religion we have in our time but some new space age-y religion. I seem to remember seeing a codex in the first game on how after the Prothean ruins were discovered on Mars, the religious world kind of went topsy-turvy, and in the aftermath, the Big Three of Christianity, Judaism, and Islam sort of blended together. I could be wrong about that, though, and they could decide to retcon it. After all, Ashley was rather vague about what religion she believed in; and I believe Mordin didn't really name any religions by name when talking about his time after modifying the Genophage, those the choice of having him sing Amazing Grace is a bit telling. Fun fact, in the Eden Prime section of ME1, someone actually name drops "the Maker" as a religious deity. I'm not sure if Dragon Age taking that divine figure and making it a huge part of their lore makes it more or less likely they'll keep with that here. Anyway I hope Suvi is a lesbian and if she is my f!Ryder will totally make her see god when she comes What a way to combine religion and science! Maybe she'll give us some concrete answers on the lore re: human religions in Mass Effect. Also, yes. Lots of rope.

Apparently she enjoys flirting from male Ryder. That's what some of the reviews have suggested. Of course, Traynor also arguably enjoyed flirting with male Shepard. She just wouldn't go all the way and would cut you off right as you are about to get to the best part. There's also Yeoman Chambers, and she was nothing but a big flirt and would go all the way, provided you weren't already in a relationship.

I could see that being the case -- especially since in these sort of dire situations, I'm sure a lof of people from all the MW species is reexamining their faith if only to find the smallest bit of comfort in these troubling times.

At this point/place the excursion of the opening mission ends and we load a far advanced save game file.
We start out on the Tempest, the spaceship of the protagonist. Here we can talk with squad members and the crew of the Tempest. For example we chat with the redhead science officer Suvi on the bridge and we try a little flirt. Similar to DAI additional dialogue options show up with secondary NPCs. After a nice chat, our Sara had an invitation for a drink with Suvi, when we’re on the Nexus the next time.
(Sorry for the quick Translation, but I'm doing it at work)

She'll probably end up being my 2nd RO after Cora, maybe even first if I somehow end up liking her more. The more human ROs the better for me and I'll gladly take Scottish accent.

Voiced by Cait from Fallout 4? Yep, she definitely on the "to romance" list now... She looks more blonde than redhead in OP's post. It is a little blurry. Maybe she's more of a strawberry blonde? Or maybe it's just a cock-up on the author's part -- so many things they experienced, little details like that are bound to blur.

I was skeptical if the OP's image was Suvi or not. I was under the impression it wasn't and likely someone else entirely. Based on your image, I'm more inclined to believe that's Suvi as she's clearly a redhead.

I don't think that is her. Why would our science officer be going out into the field in full combat gear? Meanwhile the character on the first page is literally sitting in the seat Bioware stated was the science officer's station.

Maybe she's going on a mission that requires her talents. Ryder and squadmates escort her to whatever location and keep an eye out for any enemies in the area while she does whatever needs to be done.

It's possible that things will be more lax in Andromeda though, with the societal pressures present in the Milky Way no longer a factor. Salarian females were rare and mostly stayed on their homeworld only because it was what their culture dictated. Much like our female Krogan engineer, female Salarians who wanted more than what the Milky Way offered may have joined the initiative as a means of escaping those pressures. If that's the case, I hope they brought a lot of females. As I understand it, females are only about 10% of the Salarian population. At least, they are prior to Andromeda. So, if they didn't bring a lot of females and yet let them go and explore, they could find themselves in trouble if too many females are killed. Salarian male/female imbalance is a cultural imposition rather than a biological phenomenon. Fertilized eggs produce female offspring, while non-fertilized eggs produce males. If they wanted a more even spread, which would not only be highly practical for an expedition such as the Andromeda Initiative but would also give more freedom-of-opportunity to both females and males of the species, all they would need to do would be to fertilize half the eggs. Personally, it seems pretty obvious to me that the reasons for not seeing many females of various species in the original trilogy were thought of because Bioware didn't want to make female models*, rather than the other way around. This is a new start and a fresh chance to fix that, both in-universe and without, so I hope we see more female salarians and krogan (although it looks like we still won't have a female salarian as a main character). *Which ended up being completely backwards anyway, since salarians seem to have zero external sexual dimorphism and krogan have very little, so it wouldn't have actually been very hard at all to include them in the first game. It's also backwards for turians, but in a different way: They are not a sexist species on paper, but we still ended up seeing 99.9999% males of their species. Only humans and quarians have had much diversity so far. Anyway, on to the topic. Do we know for sure that's a woman? Maybe they just have really bad hair. You know, that hair looks exactly like the bob cut from DA:I to me. Sweet mercy, bioware is re-using the terrible hair we got in inquisition... oh well, as long as it's just the npcs that have to suffer through hair purgatory, I guess I can live with it It's not the same bob. Here they both are: They are similar; both swept under and to the left, but not the same. Also, they look more different from the side/back where you can see that ME:A's bob has more loose strands, which might look like bedhead to some but I rather like it Anyway, I would actually be 100% okay with them porting over all of DA:I's hair... as long as they also make a lot of nice new styles (and remove the sideburns from them). I'd encourage that, even, since it would mean more options for us without much effort from them. Doesn't look like they did, though. Lastly, the DA:I bob is almost the only one I actually like, so I wouldn't consider it part of DA:I's terrible hair. a Jenkins, that is bad luck. His sacrifice will be honored in the coming empire. Poor Cullen Suvi has a Scottish accent? Love those! And when I hear them it's usually from men, so that's cool. *Interest increases*Interesting info about Suvi: Aboard the Tempest--the ship that players will use to travel around Andromeda's Helius Cluster--I encountered one such person: Suvi. She's staring out into the the depths of space and admiring the view. To her, the distant stars and majestic planetary bodies are "a constant reminder of the divine intelligence behind all of creation."
Like Thane, Suvi reconciles two parts of her that, to outsiders, seem contradictory: she's a woman of science, but also of faith. During our conversation she reveals science brings her closer to something greater than herself. She's lived her life having to justify these beliefs and needing to prove that her faith in the divine doesn't diminish her work as a scientist. ...Oh. And it started off so well, too. I can see the appeal of exploring a religious scientist as a character, but not sure how I'd like them as a romance option (and I know we don't know if she even is one yet). Being religious wouldn't necessarily be a deal-breaker in a relationship for me, but I have a hard time seeing such disparate worldviews working in tandem. Ingame, it'll depend heavily on what kind of dialogue options Sara has, too. Yeah, already she has shot up to be among the characters I'm most interested in. Considering that she is religious, I wonder if she will be one of the nonsexual romances. That's a strange leap to make. Someone being religious isn't mutually exclusive with enjoying sex. Ashley Williams, for example, is pretty into sex. I don't see why Suvi wouldn't. If she is romanceable. Especially considering her religion is probably not a real-world one; there isn't much logic in transposing current religious ideas onto it ( ideas that are becoming superannuated even by the standards of most religious people anyway). Found information regarding Suvi from this website: www.pcgamesn.com/mass-effect-andromeda/mass-effect-andromeda-character-guideSuvi Anwar Suvi is a young Scottish lady with ginger hair, and serves as the Tempest's science officer. She sits across the bridge from Kallo, gazing at the stars, and in one conversation during our hands-on, she spoke openly about her faith in an airy Scots' brogue. She sees science and religion as complementary, with the former as a means of understanding "the divine intelligence behind all of creation." Gamespot have a cool piece discussing her character's place in Mass Effect's tradition of philosophical discussions - it seems Andromeda will continue this, which is reassuring. For whatever reason, reading "the divine intelligence behind all of creation" made me think of her as being part of a Reaper cult Although, could you imagine if that was the case, on a meta-level? We as a player would be horrified since we know all about the Reapers, but Ryder wouldn't.

I know I might be the odd-one-out since I'm a non-alcoholic (and I also know you wouldn't personally have to get alcohol if you went out for drinks), but I would find it much more interesting if they did something else to get to know each other. Even just gazing into space and discussing the universe would not only intrigue me much more, but fit very nicely into her character, it would seem. Also really hoping this doesn't mean (if she's a romance) that she just instantly falls for Ryder and/or that the romance might be more of a casual fling type of deal. I currently expect to romance nobody, but I can't help but hope there's someone cool. Voiced by Cait from Fallout 4? Yep, she definitely on the "to romance" list now... Huh, this'll be the first time hearing her in something else for me. Will be interesting to hear her do a Scottish accent rather than Irish.
