That makes no sense. We shouldn't be able to wear N7 if we aren't N7. Does it matter in Andromeda? They might not follow Alliance programs. Meh. It just seems pointless and an appeasement to people who want to be an N7 if we aren't. I'm a firm believer that N7 should remain special and not attainable for most people.

It was an interesting video. I'm bummed(but totally called) that all the videos in this series is going to be about combat stuff though. "MASS EFFECT™: ANDROMEDA – Gameplay Series #1: Combat" <--- I think that means that there will be a series of GAMEPLAY videos that the first one was about combat. Next one was about profiles and favorite loadouts, I think. Who knows what else will be the theme. I'm all "Ooh, shiny!" *hype* This has been pointed out about 40 times. It's like pissing into the wind.

Anyone else bothered with the excessive use of the jetpack? No, I think they are just showcasing how dynamic the combat is from previous ME games. It looks fun to me, but I certainly won't be using it all the time.

I'll join too and can bring blood sacrifice. Did anyone notice Sara's C8 insignia where N7 used to be? Maybe this was covered pages ago *sigh* The numbers are only supposed to go up to 7. For SpecOps, at least. We never really got a look at any other designations. This would be a case of expanding lore, rather than rewriting it.

Personally, I don't mind some N7 fanservice, but I agree it would have more weight if it didn't seem like just anyone would sport it on their gear.

The Codex tells us. Systems Alliance: N7 The Alliance Military Vocational Code system classifies the career path of all serving personnel. The MVC consists of one letter and one number. A soldier's MVC indicates proficiency, not rank. The letter notes career path; the number indicates level of experience, as indicated by service record, technical scores, and commendations. All 26 letters are used, and numbers run from 1 to 7. N is the letter code for Special Forces personnel.

Well, that was a certainly interesting combat trailer. I look forward to all the analysis videos on it. Pretty sure BioFan's video would end up around half an hour... there was a lot covered in that.

But neither Ryder is going to be "most people." Anyway, has there been a Bio game since NWN where the PC didn't eventually attain the highest possible level of combat proficiency? All of our Ryders are going to end up deserving the N7 at some point.

I wouldn't assume that N is higher than C. Hopefully, this gets explained in-game. I think it's pretty safe to assume that, after all the lore itself says N7 is the highest possible rank, and that's why Sheppard was N7. And I sincerely doubt that a pathfinder with not much military training can get such a rank. I don't know if this has been addressed yet, since I'm playing catch-up... This is definitely not what the lore says. That's not how the system works. N7 is a Systems Alliance Military Vocational Code. "N" designates the Special Operations vocation. Different letters designate different vocations. If "C" is also an Alliance vocational code, we'll maybe learn which one it is, soon. The number designation is the proficiency rating. "7" is the highest proficiency rating in the SpecOps vocation. I guess many of us had always assumed that 7 was the highest proficiency rating across all vocations, but that doesn't necessarily have to be true. Shepard's N7 designation was not his rank. It was his vocation and proficiency rating. He was SpecOps of the highest proficiency rating. (David Anderson had also earned N7 designation, and was the first ever to do so.) Shepard's rank was Commander. Make sense?

It may sure look annoying and "show-off" in the videos, but you all will be glad as hell its in the game when actualy playing and having to move around, in or out of combat. Shepard's feet being plastered to the ground was not much fun

My point is more of why the N7 ranking will be used when it seems the AI is unrelated to the Alliance and other military organizations.

Another aspect of the combat gameplay, is to me at least, the replayability factor of it all. The sheer variety and options to choose from in how we play is wonderful. Also I know its combat focused, but there isn't near enough praise for the gorgeous looking planets the gameplay is set on

If watch briefly at 1:17 when Ryder covers behind the Nomad, you'll see the pilot door to the Nomad open.
No more mysteriously appearing and disappearing out of vehicles!!!! Looks like we can actually enter the vehicle via animation.

I'm well aware of the codex. Like I said, they can expand the lore in tiny ways without crashing the franchise. A system with nonuniform numbers really doesn't make sense, to be honest, but I'm trying to make it palatable. It's entirely possible that C8 is not an official Alliance vocational designation. The AI is not Alliance, even if they mimic it in certain ways, methods and structures.

Well, and that pretty much the entirety of its leaders are from the Alliance. And the fact there is an Alliance fleet that guards the Nexus and Arks during construction and while in the Milky Way. Yeah, I'm not sure the Alliance is involved at all in the AI.

I think the gameplay looks fluid, the interface seems intuitive, and progression options are elaborate. Looks awesome really. Is it just me or did Cora look confused a few times? Here's hoping the AI is decent in non-corridor maps. The confusion was to be expected on a companion equipped with Biotic Charge. That was never going to work ideally. I noticed, too, that feet still sink into the "hard terrain" textures, as they did in the OT. It makes it look like our team is standing ankle deep in stone, more times than not. I saw a lot of small issues, and noticed some things that seemed lacking, but it looks pretty cool, nonetheless.

We get to save favorites to switch on the fly. Sure, it's not a power menu, but it's an acceptable tradeoff. I wonder how it works on KB/M.
