My first Ryder is going to use maybe powers tactical cloak plus maybe Pistols. And then close in with tech armor and assault rifles to finish them off.

I'm really thinking of going with a good soldier/tech hybrid build. My male Ryder's weapons of choice are going to be a Omni-Blade and N7 Valkyrie (assault rifle, milky way galaxy).
When it comes to battle, I'll fight back with steady gunfire, melee combat and sticky grenades. When outgunned I'll fall back on the flamethrower, barricade and assault turret abilities. - Wolf

I didn't read the comments on it yet, but I realized my mistake. In that same video with Reyes, one of the big Roekarr evidence you uncover is Angaran blood. This means the Roekarr are some Angaran criminal group, NOT a brand new species. Whoops

I prefer ranged combat to all others. From what I have seen so far, not sure if pure ranged with no melee is going to be possible. Might be, but hard to tell with one short clip. I tried all spec in the series, but always fell back on Biotic and infiltrator. Will be interesting to see how a hybrid mix of that will work. Being limited to only 3 powers at a time, sounds a lot like stance dancing in some games, which I hate.

I'm hoping to play more as a scientist with basic training and light weapons. the equivalent to my Shepard who was a hardend experienced soldier. He will rely more on his intelect and be an asset to the team by providing cover while the soldiers and biotics in the team will take the lead.

I've always felt that the Sentinel was the best experience, so a mix of tech & biotic. Infiltrator--specifically, Tactical Cloak--is just straight up EZ Mode.
I'm curious to see how this "Swapping on the fly" for the Favorites system works. Didn't seem like an on-the-fly swap to me; you had to pause, enter the main menu, enter the profiles menu, enter the favorites menu, etc. I was hoping for a Power Wheel type system that would let you access the Favorites. Also, how does it work with cooldowns: can we swap to a different favorite setup if we have any powers currently on cooldown?

You want a cover shooter like the old games? Yes. Jumping around like a clown looks stupid as hell. Nuts to that noise. Everything will be sent to hell in a biotic handbasket and it will be glorious. But seriously though, the only difference between this and the old games is the extra axis of movement. Anyone who played ME3 is used to sometimes having everything obscured behind big ass combo explosions.

I have been thinking about things, and the combat system in Andromeda, and a few questions have occured to me. First off, what does everyone plan on running in terms of weapons? And what do people plan on focusing on first for their abilities and spending their skill points?
For me my bro Ryder will probbaly run an Assault Rifle, Pistol, and two Sniper Rifles eventually. And work on his combat abilities especially the weapon passives first. Maybe to the point where I won't open another ability until I max out my weapon trees.
My Sis Ryder will run a simple Pistol, AR combination. Not sure yet what she will unlock first but likely overload and Tac cloak will be her two main focuses.

I think I'll focus my Scott Ryder on a sniper rifle, primarily, maybe pistols as a backup weapon. In terms of power I think i'll mix biotics and techs, but at the moment I'm still not sure on the powers/

My armor will likewise be designed around improving recharge times, and to a lesser extent improving power damage. One detail bears mentioning here: From what the video shows, we can't improve our cool downs by going lighter this time. We can only maintain it at 100%. As evidence, watch the cooldown/weight meter at the top of the equipment menu as the dev swaps his gear. He drops below 100%, but never goes above it, no matter how light the loadout. This could be because he was carrying 150+/50 items, most of the time, so take this with a grain of salt. Eliminating cooldown abuse, especially with individual cooldowns, is probably a good idea.

Watch for it when the dev swaps weapons during combat. We'll get a much better look at the system, soon.

When it comes to paths, I'm going to go the Soldier and Tech routes.
Weapon wise, I'm thinking my Scott Ryder will use a assault rifle (ranged weapon), pistol (backup weapon) and also shotgun (used to get real up close and personal).
For combat abilities, I'm going to start focusing on 3 weapon passives first. When I'm maxed out in them I will then branch into the assault turret for added fire support.
Finally plan to put points into tactical cloak so I can get in real close with the shotgun. End goal is soften them with assault rifle fire then finish them off with the shotgun. - Wolf

I was also taking into consideration the brief view we saw of armor crafting in an earlier trailer. I'm reasonably sure that any recharge bonuses from that will be distinct from the weapon weight system. As I said, everything is subject to change as I learn more about my options.

Yeah, there are lots of bonuses to be had; equipment, profiles, and who knows what else? As a lover of biotics, I'll be looking to optimize cooldowns, as well.

Never cared for the biotics in the game and won't be using them this time also.

I mostly played as an infiltrator in the first three games, so this time I'm gonna try to avoid sniper rifles.
I'm thinking a couple of my favorites will be pure caster biotics and another will be melee oriented biotics.

I know I'll go Biotics, first. That said, the Tech powers look equally amazing, and I always intended to beef up with Combat skills. It's too early to say which individual skills, though I tend to optimize. I'll likely go for effect over flash, despite the joy flash can provide. Being able to retrain (supposedly) and build multiple Favorites is going to really help add variety and fun. My weapon loadout will fit my build. I tend to enjoy assault rifles most. I also enjoyed the Indra (AR/SR hybrid) immensely. We'll see what works, though. I really enjoy cooldown mechanics on weapons, so I'll enjoy remnant tech and modded MW tech, I suspect. I manage my ammo count well, so overheating is not really an issue for me. I'm not generally a crafter, but the MEA crafting system allows for some crazy stuff, so I'm psyched, now. My initial build? An "Aggressive Adept" who will likely unlock the Adept and Vanguard Profiles fairly early. If it's not that, maybe an Aggressive Pyro-Infiltrator. That's on my mind a lot, too.

Charge, Nova, and some tech skill to take armor. My primary goal is to maximize combat fitness and barrier, so I can be a tank and run crazy in open field.

We're not limited to 3 powers, we can swap profiles quite easily, it seems.

So in Mass Effect I was an infiltrator because they get incinerate and sniper rifles, but truly I'm the worst sniper ever. I just like that they take baddies out in one shot.
I take a bunch of health ans shield bonuses, and stand out in the open because cover gets in the way of my scope, and take out as many enemies as I can before ducking to the side to recover my shields.
I'll likely do the same here; I like the look of the sniper rifle. But man, the jumpjet is going to be my best pal!
