Dezra Brosca, in The Lovers tarot card with Zevran. I wanted something similar to Blackwall's romance card, because Brosca's had a hard life and she deserves something soft and sappy. Art by Daphne Hutcheson.

My current playthrough is Eneya Surana, romancing Leliana. I am nearing the end of the game. I will miss this character, I like playing as her.

Hareas Mahariel. Warrior Dual-Wielder/Archer hybrid. -Bit of a snarky, contrary whiner, but capable enough in battle. -Hates when people are too vague and hyperbolic when he wants or needs to know something. Tends to ask a lot of questions. -Would have preferred to take his chances with the Taint over joining Duncan. -Misses his clan, and hates being a Grey Warden. -Is annoyed at being surrounded by shemlen who expect him to care that they're being slaughtered by darkspawn, even though he knows that he kind of probably should. -Thought shemlen women were way too tall and broad-shouldered and clumsy, until he saw Morrigan in her witch robes in the Korcari Wilds for the first time. Is currently reconsidering the matter.

How I love this vallaslin. Use it almost all the time with my GWs. Do not look through all images of PCs to be honest, but do not rememeber this vallaslin to be used by other players in great numbers. Prefer deeper color with my GWs, but it is really very nice to see this vallaslin on other GWs. IMO it has special "charm" and GW looks more war-like, with dignity, ready to fight back (with words or weapon) if somebody decides to insult such GW. "Snarky" suits very well here. At least I have such feeling when look at GWs with this vallaslin.

At least I have such feeling when look at GWs with this vallaslin. Yup, it's my favorite too. This, and the one that covers the right left half of the face, although that one sets some limitations to skin color and complexion to pull off with any kind of grace. I prefer the dark goldish color variant that's just one click to the right of the true black at the leftmost side of the bar, and then only at around 60% opacity depending on skin hue. Dalish NPCs rarely have darker Vallaslin than that, and I want my character to fit in in that regard, even though he has darker skin from his father's original clan. And if you make it too bold and colorful then it just looks like permanent marker to me. I feel like the tattoos are supposed to look like they could be shadows of branches and leaves from the sun shining through the forest roof. Clear enough that they catch the eye, but soft enough to frame and accentuate the natural contours of the face without totally overshadowing them. After all, the difference between making an impression and making a caricature is being able to tone it down to the essentials. ...I think?

After all, the difference between making an impression and making a caricature is being able to tone it down to the essentials. ...I think? ...Maybe? If need to compare them at all or think of universal definitions of some terms and phrases suitable for everyone.

I may or may not have made a new Amell Warden...again Gave her the same name as my elfy Warden (Raelyn), will be specializing her as a druid shape-shifter/keeper Her origin story look... Which I switched for this look after the Joining (I head canon she cut her hair after this to start her new life...also it mostly hides her signature head marking), will keep it for the rest or Origins, and might switch it out for another one for Awakening and the dlc's
to be fair, the short hair does make her look very cute imo. (plus less clipping with her cheekbones )

I've recently (well as recent as 2 years ago) played DAO on XBOX One...aaand with XBONE's in-game ability to take and save screenshots, I've finally got a good little collection of (one of) my favorite warden(s): Daylen Amell

My Hawke went from cropped hair and thick sideburns as a young refugee and mercenary to a full curtained do and chin strap beard to add to his dignity as a nobleman in Act 2, to cropped hair again and a full beard in Act 3 as he approaches 40 and stops messing around. Also have like four different looks planned for my Trevelyan Inquisitor as he goes from Marcher noble out of his depth to brash Inquisition agent to hardened Inquisitor to Thedas' Nick Fury by the time of Trespasser. Thank God for the Black Emporium. Unfortunately DAO doesn't allow anything like that on consoles.

I've only done so once before (also on an Amell), but only after Origins was done...so giving her a different style in Awakening+Witch Hunt I generally don't change the hair if I can't do so, but at the time I found it more interesting to do so

Origins proper only spans about a year, after all, compared to the other games spanning several at least. And unlike Hawke or the Inquisitor the Warden pretty much spends the entire time on the road.

in Origins as you say it spans a year, with Awakening taking place 6 months after the Archdemon's defeat Inquisition's time is also somewhat harder to place, but imo. also takes place within a year, starting after the Conclave and ending when Corypheus is defeated, Trespasser takes place 3 years afterwards
at present I'm remaking the Warden from above, I thought it'd be nice to take some inspiration from Disney Princesses (at least appearance wise)...she'll be based on my favorite Belle from Beauty and the Beast (so my Warden will have brown hair and hazel eyes (according to the wiki Belle has hazel-green eyes (at least in the original animation) I intend to do the same for my Hawke and Inquisitor, though I've yet to decide which ones I'll go with for them

According to official timeline, Inquisition starts seemingly early in 9.41 and ends with Corypheus' defeat after the Jaws of Hakkon and The Descent in seemingly late 9.42, so to me that suggests almost two years. And even that feels like way too little considering that you move back and forth between two nations like crazy, lead a mass pilgrimage through the mountains, restore a huge fortress and build a continent-spanning network of allies and agents in that time. Like, if it were up to me, and if I were to decide to headcanon it, I would have said five years at the least and preferred seven or eight. And yes, one does note a certain Disney Princess vibe from your Wardens. I usually just aim to make my characters unique and characterful while still looking normal and natural between the NPC models.

From my most recent playthrough, here's Navani Surana - Blood Mage, Spirit Healer, and 100% done with everyone's bullshit. She's very dry and blunt to the point of being insensitive, but not intentionally so; she's just terrible at reading the room/understanding social cues. (Kind of like Morrigan, in a way.) Though she's not the best at expressing her feelings, she's compassionate and fiercely protective of her friends, mages, and other elves. Romanced Leliana bc Leli is my canon divine and I love the idea of the pope being married to an elven blood mage. suck it, Chantry
