Why would it be offensive to you? Are you the person after who Sara was modelled? I don't get people pulling the whole ''I'm offended'' card when the criticism isn't even aimed at them. Now personally I think Sara looks fine, she isn't a supermodel and not every character needs to be. She fits well with the default look of male Ryder and thus I have no problem with the way she looks. But people will always nitpick and complain if they don't like something, luckily we have the opportunity to change the appearance of these characters to our liking so complaining about it makes no sense either. Basically this whole argument is just absolutely pointless. The side criticizing her should just realize already that you're not forced to keep her this way and the other side of people should learn how to grow a thicker skin and ignore the other people, if you think she looks fine then there's no problem. No reason to start getting ''offended'' because a fictional characters appearance is being insulted. I think people might be offended because some people make specific complaints (lips too big, nose too wide, etc) and so people with those same features or people who just think the model is more attractive than them now have a multitude of people indirectly saying how unattractive they are. Like if I shared traits with, I dunno, Clark Gregg and people were writing whole threads on how he's a dog I might feel offended because they are also saying my traits are ugly.

Way to just ignore all the valid criticism, which isn't just about her face, but the animations that can cause some dorky shots. BSN 101. Sorry for not having the time to read through 14 pages about complaints of a characters face and some animations which comes down to simple nitpicking. I'm sorry for you to criticize something you have no clue about, and willingly admitting the lack of knowledge. Props to you.

Now in this final (polish) version looks Sara Ryder so much better and gorgeous !!! Sadly, this isn't representative of in-game experience. It's more character kit magic.

I think it is in-game experience! It's maybe Sara and Scott Ryder's final gameplay magic! But this gorgeous Picture from Sara is definitely in-game magic experience! And I love it!

4K Sara Ryder PictureYeah, this one is, and she looks great. They look good when they aren't emoting. Hopefully, they're able to tune up the animations well enough that they aren't a distraction.

For me, it's just kind of funny that all the conversation has been about how ugly she is when Scott is around here looking like the most boring piece of stale bread I have ever seen.
The discussion about the animation is a valid one, but unfortunately I have barely seen that in contrast to people just going on about how ugly she is.
I find Sara to be cute, animation flaws aside. I gasped when I saw her latest close-up screenshot because she looks so pretty and cute. It's just so sad that as progressive as BioWare games are, there's clearly a good amount of misogyny in the fandom. Like I can't believe so many people are obsessed with talking about how ugly she is while ignoring Scott. Gee, I wonder why...

It was on the wider web, right? (It's definitely out of control, out there in the drek.) It's hardly come up here on the BSN, in comparison to the animations.

I've seen A LOT on Twitter and the ME subreddit. From what I've seen, BSN is relatively tame compared to those places, especially Reddit.

😂 Oh, wow. What type of news does The Sun generally report, for those of us not familiar? This is getting ridiculous, some people are so up in arms because Bioware made female characters that are not "bangable" to them to the point that they come up with crazy reasons why is that the case. This is why I don't take gamer opinions seriously as much as I did because of the hyperbole.

Seeing even an avid feminist critic like Lianna K weigh in is unexpected, though... To be fair, the Sarah we got is quite a ways off from that...

It seems obvious to me. I've said as much a couple of times, respectfully, without being attacked; but I was "uneasy" about doing so. Instead of "othering" their female models, as Lianna creatively puts it, they could just stop using such "sexy" models. If you're trying to project more average/"realistic" body and image standards, Jayde might not be the best starting point. Meanwhile, many BioWare fans are cracking on poor Steve for Scott's "boring, whitebread" appearance. He's a very good-looking dude, and doesn't have the typical buzz-cut soldier look. People make me laugh. I'm not sure what they want. I just want BioWare to figure out how to animate humans in MEA. Ultimately, maybe we'll get a bit of extra exposure for VG/MEA out of this. Most people are probably thinking, "Damn. I didn't know they use models. They can do that?"

Maybe you're in the minority, that's why, or maybe not. You kind of missed the point of the post but alright. Obviously, there are people who won't find her attractive -- there's no one person/character/being in the world that everyone will find to be attractive because taste/opinion is subjective. Just as there will be people who will find Scott to be attractive. My point is that there's so much discussion around Sara's looks while there's barely any about Scott's. There's people accusing BioWare of purposely making ugly female characters, yelling that they are being attacked because there aren't any women they deem worthy enough to fictionally have sex with. I have seen literally no one doing this for Scott. That was my point. There's nowhere near as much discussion about Scott's looks as there is about Sara's. I'm with OP; the massive complaining about Sara's looks is tiresome and annoying. It borders on offensive for some because of reasons already mentioned by people in the thread. But it's not surprising, considering sexism is a big thing and all.

Nobody would accuse BW of sexualizing men by using a pretty boy like Steven Brewis. Frankly, I doubt anybody cares about him in the first place... but a sexy girl!? NO! We can't have that... so much for female marginalization.

Not that that counts for much if all they do is compile what other people said on twitter etc. No pristine journalistic cred needed for that...
