There was nothing insulting in my post. Now you're really being touchy. Also that's the third time you brought up gender politics, because of one sentence. For someone who doesn't want to bring up gender politics in this thread, you do seem keen on wanting me to discuss it with you. One sentence is enough to judge that you not looking to discuss but to make a hit statement, and i wrote borderline insulted note borderline. It was aggravated hit post on people who think differently and you know it. Well that worked out great for you didn't it? Trying talking to people in the future for a little bit to gain a better grasp of there position before you start verbally swinging.

I don't really see what's offensive about having and voicing the opinion the characters look bad. It's not like Bioware has ever been the best in that department.
Remember Sera? I love that girl but damn, she kinda looked like melted butter.
I mean, ok...I guess if you're seeing people legit mad that they don't want to bang a character, then that's pretty crap. I just haven't seen much of that myself
P.S. Coras hair is bad, and I will die on this hill

Women obsessing over looks in large an evolutionary trait to attract a mate and has nothing to do with people complaining about default character look in video game. But hey you found another thing to cram gender politics in, good job there. Sara and some other characters look mediocre, people have every right to complain about product they spend their hard earned money on. You being offended is a most irrelevant thing. But there are women who may read these complaints about Sara and Cora who might think, "If this is what they think about the look of a pixel woman, what do they say about real women and how they look?" The line between game and reality can become blurred when insults of ugly and man jaw seem to be casually thrown about. Then you add the photoshopped versions of these characters others create to 'fix' their appearance and it's disheartening as a woman to see that. "That is what a woman should look like" Really? I don't care if someone doesn't like Sara's default look, that's cool, you (general not specific) don't have to. But vehemently slandering her appearance is a reflection on how women in real life are treated for their appearance. Then they need to grow a thicker skin and learn to not be a special snowflake. Just as i leaned that girls lusting over hot studs on bioware forums do not represent how males should or should not look like. People that can't distinguish reality from fiction should not be on the internet.

I happen to be a woman with looks like that (square jaw, short hair) and yes, it's very offensive, but everything on the net is because people cowardly voice their thoughts behind a computer screen. Just have one of these shallow guys here say that to a woman in real life. They won't be getting anything but an ice pack down there. I think the reason why this one was frustrating to me, is because she really looks fine, but there are so many people acting like she's an offense to the eyes. Like really? I think that's half the reason I'm annoyed with these complaints. It's the exaggeration of it all. The only real constructive criticism I've seen towards Sara's face, was about her animations when she talked. Which I think is totally fair, and I agree.

I'm pretty sure gender politics came into this when people started accusing Bioware of intentionally making female companions ugly as part of some nefarious "agenda".

I actually had that stuff said to my face most of my life, so it's harder to just let it go, but I'm just glad I don't go near guys like that irl. Heck I've yet to meet any guy irl nowadays that knows how to treat real women right. I like gentlemen, old fashioned ones who hold the door for me and stuff, but now I find I'm always holding the door for them LOL But yeah even if this wasn't personal, I'd feel like you do because this is becoming so regular and it's pretty sad. But so is everything about the net nowadays right? Haha

I'm pretty sure gender politics came into this when people started accusing Bioware of intentionally making female companions ugly as part of some nefarious "agenda". They do that anytime Bioware does anything they don't like. Gay characters? Agenda. Women that don't look exactly to their specifications? Agenda. Less buff male characters? Agenda. Everything to them is some kind of agenda unless it specifically caters to them.

Oh no, how dare people agree with me. The posts you liked. They were telling indeed. You know what's telling to me. You're a hypocrite. You tell people to grow thicker skin, and then you behave the way you do in this thread. You accuse my OP of being borderline insulting, and then you accuse lynroy of having a very sheltered life. So like I said, you judging that one sentence in my post really worked out well for you, cause all you've accomplished is making yourself look foolish.

Then they need to grow a thinker skin and learn to not be a special snowflake. Just as i leaned that girls lusting over hot studs on bioware forums do not represent how males should or should not look like. People that can't distinguish reality from fiction should not be on the internet. But we're not talking about guys lusting over hot women on a Bioware forum. I wouldn't really be bothered by that. No more than I was by all the fangirl drooling over Cullen anyway. It's annoying when it gets excessive, but I can ignore it. We're talking about guys calling female characters hideous because of this or that flaw that real life women have. I don't see that happening for male characters. Go into Liam's thread and find me one post (other than the one obvious troll) where someone is picking apart his eyes/jaw shape/cheekbones/etc. Find me one meme in there where someone has 'fixed' his looks. Now go into Cora's or PeeBee's. It goes on for pages and gets brought up again and again. Go back to Inquisition, and yeah, there was some critique over Solas because he was bald and had pointy ears. But it was nothing compared to the enraged backlash over Cassandra that continues even now, long after whatever qualms people had over Solas' looks were replaced by people talking about his actual character and place in the story instead.

I remember in the trilogy, we couldn't actually modify default Shepard's face. We could create a new face, but we couldn't for example, give Sheploo green eyes and thicker hair. I'm wondering if we'll be able to do that for Ryder.
