I've seen a few different "skins" of the Fiend monster and I can honestly say I really hope MEA isn't using this template to be copied to world after world after world. And I say that with it not really bugging me that we will see a lot of Kett in combat and a lot of them may be the same. I just don't want my monsters to be "same-y" to the point where they are virtually identical.

If there are Fiends on multiple planets, I suspect there will be a reason for it. For example one version has them covered in the same bone structures that the Kett are covered in, so perhaps the Kett took them from their homeworld, grafted the bone armor onto them, and use them as war beasts. Sort of like how the Blood Pack and some batarians have done with the varren. We've seen other creatures on the planets so I'm sure it won't just be Fiends every single time.

There will probably be more aliens that fit the "Giant Space Gorilla" type. Can't let that animation rig go to waste on a single enemy type now.

Haha ..."Fiend" is kinda lame, they couldn't come up with similar names in how they named creatures in terms of "Brute"..."Banshees"..etc....fiend sounds like some dastardly villain twirling his mustache....

I think it'd be kinda funny if we find Thresher Maws in Andromeda for some reason
You think their random appearances on far-off planets were confined to the Milky Way? Pah!

I want to clarify something because Hanako Ikezawa brought up a good point about there being an explanation. If there are Fiends on more than 1 planet WITH and explanation that is totally fine. What is not fine is if Fiends are on EVERY planet WITHOUT an explanation. That would just not be cool.

Those adhi whatevers basically look like varren with a fin attached.Again I don't have my hopes up, if inquisition is anything to go by it'll just be tons of reskins with zero combat diversity.

What is not fine is if Fiends are on EVERY planet WITHOUT an explanation. That would just not be cool. Though I don't really care for it. In my opinion I see it as these Fiends could be a Remnant genetic crazy experiments that were left to guard planets that these Remnant have vacated so mysteriously. So when we do something that ends up finishing off a planet quest line -where remnant are involved -it unleashes one... would get old fast though but at least there is a reason for them on every planet with an explanation.

Sadly, I think this going to be the case. And regardless of "reasons," it really amounts to lazy design choice. It's this sort of lack of going the "extra mile" that gives TW3 fans ammunition in attacking all things Bioware. People can complain or defend all they want, but only Bio can change this dynamic. They have to create a game that rivals or exceeds TW3 to shut people up. And hopefully MEA can somehow pull it off.

If We have several planets with different species, then 2-3 where we have fiends, but in two they're variants modified by the Kett, I don't see a problem. Granted, if the kett thing is used to have fiends in almost every planet, it'd be lazy.

It's this sort of lack of going the "extra mile" that gives TW3 fans ammunition in attacking all things Bioware. No one gives a crap about Witcher fanboys desperately trying to convince themselves that the games they mindlessly worship are better than BioWare's games. ME:A could be the greatest game ever made and those people will only double-down in their pathetic vendetta. Most of them are only obsessed with screeching about The Witcher solely because they can't stand the fact that BioWare doesn't do exactly what they want and BioWare's games are hugely popular and successful regardless. Of course, this is already "make complete assumptions and then whine about the game based on those complete assumptions" so anyone who judges BioWare on this complete assumption isn't worth caring about.

I'm bracing myself for the worst so I can be pleasantly surprised. It should only be native to one world, e.g. found in the wild. If observed on worlds 2 and 3, they should be as suggested Kett equivalent to attack dogs.

'Fiend' isn't a bad name. Who knows, maybe we'll have an R-Blaster; so, shooting 'R's onto 'Fiends', we'll turn them into FRIENDS, and ....... OK, I'll see myself out now.

Certainly there are those types, but there are many more that can objectively enjoy and evaluate both as games independently of one another. Not many can objectively claim DAI is better than TW3. But I also realize it's not for everyone. Are Bioware games hugely popular and successful? Or is the fan base particularly devoted and vocal? If we look at Bioware games sales, they are not all that impressive. I don't think the collective ME games equal the sales of best sellers by other developers.

Not many can objectively claim DAI is better than TW3. Anyone who wants to claim a game is objectively better or worse than a different game, especially one of a completely different genre, either doesn't understand what an "opinion" is or is self-centered to a glaring degree.

Regardless of the first part (on which I might agree with), both games are action rpgs. They're not from different genres.

Personally I suspect that the fiends are going to be the Andromeda version of the thresher maws like we got in ME1. They'll pop up a trandom intervals and we'll have to defend ourselves against them. Much like we had to against the thresher maws. Th best thing to do is be cautious when entering wide open spaces as that's where the thresher maws tended to show up most in ME 1 and I suspect most of the fiends will likely be found in similar areas.

If Fiends are encountered on more than one planet, I'm sure there will be a lore reason behind it.
