It's possible that this just means enemy wildlife. I hope that most other life forms will be benign background decoration, like that flying thing that we see a couple of times in some old videos.

It's this sort of lack of going the "extra mile" that gives TW3 fans ammunition in attacking all things Bioware. No one gives a crap about Witcher fanboys desperately trying to convince themselves that the games they mindlessly worship are better than BioWare's games. ME:A could be the greatest game ever made and those people will only double-down in their pathetic vendetta. Most of them are only obsessed with screeching about The Witcher solely because they can't stand the fact that BioWare doesn't do exactly what they want and BioWare's games are hugely popular and successful regardless. Of course, this is already "make complete assumptions and then whine about the game based on those complete assumptions" so anyone who judges BioWare on this complete assumption isn't worth caring about. If the poster is a Witcher Fanboy then only the Maker knows what you are, some sort of... Bio Squad? The hypocrisy is strong with this one.

Well being it's 2017 and it's been confirmed there is no entering and exiting animations for the nomad. I'm pretty sure these fiends will be everywhere also. As I said before small details aren't EAware strong suit. Where was that confirmed about the nomad???

Haha. I'm actually in the midst of reviewing the vids to double-check my count, now. We have the big red guy who chews on Sara. I'll call him "Chewie". We also have the ossified dudes from Elaaden. I'll call him "Boner", but I understand if others prefer a different name. I may have mistaken Boner for more than one type of fiend, so I'm reviewing the vids. Final Conclusion: I'm only seeing two types of fiend: the big red guys, and the kett-modified Elaaden variety. I think I might've mistook the Elaaden fiend in the most recent vid for a third variety. That's my best guess for my miscount. LOL, great names. LMAO.

People need to accept there's gonna be some degree of repetition found in a game where you can explore dozens of planets. If every planet had totally different wildlife unique to that one planet, that would be amazing, but probably time consuming and costly.

Those are the only ones we known from the trailers, it doesn't the represent the number of wildlifes present in the whole game.

There will probably be more aliens that fit the "Giant Space Gorilla" type. Can't let that animation rig go to waste on a single enemy type now. Yup; Inquisition had like five different enemies on the wolf and bear rigs. I'm sure this will be no different. Besides, random enemy palette swaps are a staple of RPGs.

Even fan favorite Witcher 3: Wild Hunt regularly reuses animation rigs and palette swaps of enemies. I should know, I just finished the game plus DLC a few weeks ago. Personally, I don't mind.

I don't mind some repetition and swaps, at least if there's clear story reason (and ideally story INVOLVEMENT) about it!
But I do mind if there isn't variety for a type. Cerberus in ME3 wouldn't have bothered me so much if there were also other indoctrinated or evil enemy forces occasionally, especially good if they had some alternate attack styles (I appreciated this aspect of Citadel DLC, with CAT6). Reaper forces in ME3 wouldn't have bothered me so much if there was even more variety added over time than what we got, but I was kinda OK with what we got. Merc forces in ME2 were great - if I'm gonna fight mercs over half the time of the game, you damn well better have them in different gangs with different mechanics involved!
Beasts, however, haven't been Mass Effect's strong suit. They're either 'everywhere' (varren, thresher maws), or rare and special unique things. AKA not a focus of the design. But I might like if they become a bigger deal! It'd be cool if one long major mission map involved a unique species you fight throughout, and if other sidemission locations had not just one but a few types of beast enemies!
I'm... not expecting this for MEA. But I'll be a little disappointed if we just get these Fiend/whatever things in a couple forms and that's it. Give me my alien (and not just cybernetic, btw) beasts if I'm going to an unknown world that supports life!

I always chuckle when I see "Fiend" in games... When I was playing Heroes 3 with my friends, we would joke about the names and translations for everything, and "Fiend" was an obvious "Friend". "Oh look a group of Pit Friends" This one just stuck with me over the years... so now it makes it a bit hard for me to take anything named "fiend" too seriously... Big bad hideous monster coming (me: *ooooo*), it's called a "Fiend" (me: *chuckle*)

When you say "no one" it already discredits your argument from the beginning and shows your post being rather emotional than a well thought opinion. A large portion did not become Witcher fanboys until witcher 3 because it was the first to come to both PlayStation consoles and microsoft platforms. That large portion uses Witcher 3 as precedent for excellent open world RPG adventure games because it set a benchmark in quality in both story telling (Main and side quest) and atmosphere/world design. It was also the first game in a while that many people felt the devs placed a ton of love and care into their games going the extra mile. I would say that many of the witcher fanboys and fangirls are cautiously optimistic about Mass Effect: Andromeda because they see that same potential with this game series. The pessimism comes from what seems to be EA's influence restricting Bioware from adding too many in depth mechanics that fans would love to see. Will there be some who are overly critical after ME releases? Absolutely Summary: Many Witcher fanboys/girls became fans because there was a certain level of quality and they see that same potential of quality with the direction that ME:A is going. Side note: Just because Bioware's previous games were successful doesn't mean keeping that same formula will continue to make them successful. Adapt or die

It is possible to like both IPs.
Mass Effect is my favorite series, full stop. That said, TW3 is a better game than anything BioWare has made in many years, in my opinion. I'm hoping that TW3 ,and games like it, are a source of both challenge and inspiration to the BioWare team to do more and better. I believe that's exactly the case.
It was fun getting to see Geralt and his friends, the novel characters, brought to VG life. The team at CDPR did and incredible job giving him and his family an epic, three-part finale to their story. It ended a hell of a lot more satisfyingly than the books did! When I see BioWare fans get so huffy about The Witcher and CDPR, I just sigh and shake my head. It's not healthy to invest so much emotion in this, nor to take it so personally.
I hope that MEA will be the ME game that makes us say, "Wow, BioWare really brought their A game!" We shall see. At the very least, we get to play more Mass Effect.

Where was that confirmed about the nomad??? In one of the devs tweets. I actually found it in a Biofan video. It's unfortunate. aarynflynn said it took too long and slightly annoying. I wish they could keep it in there and we had the option in the menus to switch the animation on and off. Or have it to where it zooms in on Ryder getting in. As it zooms out, the other squad mates are already in the Nomad via the other door. same for getting out. I never minded the animations for FFXV with the car so I would rather have the immersion than shortcuts in ME:A.

They can't connect everything to a menu toggle; especially things like this that happen in gameplay. They'd sooner have made it skippable, I'd think, if possible. The fact that it looked cool, yet still got cut, suggests that it really was both too long and annoying. I'm sure they made the right call. If they'd have left it in, we'd have had threads complaining about its intrusiveness, soon enough.
