So....a bunch of guys from a predominant galactic power travel to uncharted locations to build colonies, mine resources, and kill the native population. Gee, why does that sound familiar?
It sounds very much like empire-building when the Europeans decided to conquer the world by invading other nations, ultimately impoverishing them, and building settlements all over. It was a race for these countries on who can build the most and who can build the fastest. Conquest wasn't always military-based; trade-embargoes, political sabotage, and cultural/religious dominance was also the name of the game.
As a radical Marxist, I find it unsettling to find a game celebrating themes of dominance, invasion, and conquest. All because the Galactic council supports and promotes the idea of colonization and capitalism, now the entire universe will be enslaved.
Do you believe that Mass Effect promotes capitalism?

The devs have specifically stated that this is not a game about colonialism, but about cooperation and hope. So nope, I'm not too concerned about the game having a dark tone. Even if they'd not outright clarified this point, I'd have expected as much. BioWare's games tend toward optimism and cooperation. I'd say these are two types of thinking, if anything, that they promote.

Who cares if it does? When a species is about to be wiped out by the impending Reaper invasion I would imagine any species would go to any length to survive. Simple really survival of the fittest. Snowflake feelings don't get you anywhere in the real world and certainly won't in my idea and understanding of the mass effect universe.
just like the real world it's all about your own perspective.

Well we need to mine those supplies so we can conquer the new galaxy and then loot it.
I suppose I could try just skipping straight to the looting part.

Who says imperialism can't be about hope and cooperation? The species of the Milky Way get some planets for living space, and we cooperate with the Angara. It'll be just like the Spanish and the Tlaxcala (with the Kett being the Aztecs).

All because the Galactic council supports and promotes the idea of colonization and capitalism, now the entire universe will be enslaved. Do you believe that Mass Effect promotes capitalism? This one feels like a stretch, so a couple things to keep in mind.
1) The Andromeda Initiative did not come to "kill the native population." In fact, I can't think of a way it could have known there would even be a native population.
2) The empire-building Europeans analogy doesn't quite hold water when you consider the fact that, unless the Andromeda Initiative has some way to dramatically shorten the 600 year trip between galaxies and the resources to make said trip multiple times, there will be no material connection between the Milky Way and Andromeda. At most they would have a handful of QECs that may not even work anymore. This was a one way trip. Difficult to build an empire on that foundation.
3) I can't remember the exact number of people involved with the Andromeda Initiative (my brain is saying around 100,000), but I have a hard time believing that the amount of people involved could conquer anything. Let alone an already somewhat established and colonized star cluster.
So, yes, Mass Effect obviously promotes the SJWCapitalist Agenda.

... yeah, I'm also calling troll on this one.
We don't really know 'how the economy works' in the ME universe--at least with respect to humans. It's probably not a 'post-scarcity' era like Star Trek, but neither does it look like the triumph of predatory capitalism. There are private corporations and such, but it looks like some authority keeps them in check, so that they don't snowball into monopolies.
The AI on the other hand, is a 'private enterprise', but based on what we know so far, it's so utterly irrational, that one can't really say they're up to enslaving new planets and exploit their resources.
ME is really too much of a fluffy space opera to incorporate such considerations; 'the economy' is just hand-waved away.

Considering we saw a native species of Andromeda whooping our ass several times, I don't think the confrontation will be that one-sided, even IF (i highly doubt it) we'll go off invading their worlds.

I thought it was more akin to a Pocahontas-esque love story.
But seriously, it is a one way trip without backup and warships. Any attempt at " conquering " the new cluster would be doomed from the start. Especially since we cannot leave the cluster ( yet ).
Better to extend our hand in friendship and work with any present friendly spacefaring species.

As a radical Marxist(...) Do you believe that Mass Effect promotes capitalism? This is clearly bait but I kind of want to believe it is not. State your country of origin, age and gender! Also, explain how true marxism and socialism were never implemented if you're for real.

America would be a third world country without all those nasty genocidal imperialist warmongers aka 'founding fathers' and their 'cargo'. Americans conveniently forget Americans committed genocide against the native Americans not Europeans. Americans by far and above were the ones who enslaved Africans. It's easy for people from former colonies to hanwave responsibility and poke the finger at the European nations and blame them for their own nation's atrocities committed by their countryman's ancestors rather than present day Europeans who's ancestors clearly never left Europe.
I'm team milky way - I never asked for this. But now we're here the way I see it - there's plenty of space rock to go around. If Andromedans are prepared to fight and die for every inch of soil then so be it but that's not going to end well for them. They'll see soon enough like the natives always do that in the long run that we have good ideas and will buy their goods and services and before you know it - best friends forever. Capitalism, baby!

Well Bioware's long been implicitly racist(see kai leng, jacob, emily wong, al jalani, volus etc). So i'm going to say that they probably wouldn't call it that but their unchecked, unconscious privilege will cause them to insert offensive crap anyway,
