Yas! Great to finally see the favourites at work, now what was my single biggest concern is no more, it looked absolutely fine. I would have liked a more in-depth explanation on how squadmates work though, it seems that we'll need to rely on their AI for proper combos, so I hope there was an improvement from DA:I.

Looks good to me.
I hope theres a way to tell your squadmates not to just charge in and detonate your combo everytime you cast a singularity though. Sometimes I might wanna let those guys dangle there for a bit before I decide how I want to apply my coup de grace.
Edit - I've watched the video a few times now. It looks like the player manually tells Cora to jump in and detonate those combos, so all in all i'm pretty happy with what i've seen today.
4x favourites though, interchangeable on the fly, each with actives and passives, plus weapon skills for each build... There's gonna need to be a lot of skill points floating around.

While I'm not a fan of having all skills cooldown when switching profiles (I don't really use guns in MET, playing as a Sentinel), this video is so much hype! I was literally clapping chanting "Mass effect, mass effect" when I saw it pop up on YouTube.
Slightly wondering why squadmates only have 3 actives and 2 passives. Pathfinder has like 10,000 skills and poor squadmate only five. But meh.

I was waiting to see how they balance being able to switch between sets of abilities. Putting powers on cooldown when switching seems like a good way to manage that. I also figured that, since they removed the ability to command squadmates to use specific powers, that the AI will automatically use powers on targets you designate if they can detonate a combo. Good to see that confirmed. A bit disappointed that squadmates only have three powers (and I was hoping there'd be a secret seventh squadmate) but given individual cooldowns, I can understand. Also, new info: - Adept profile gives increases to Biotic Force, Biotic Area of Effect Damage, Biotic Area of Effect Radius, Biotic Effect Duration, and Biotic Combo Radius. The unique passive of Adepts is "Biotic Echoes: Biotic combos can set off additional explosions on each enemy they touch." It seems like biotics for manoeuvrability is based on your current profile.
- Explorer profile gives increases to Weapon Damage, Damage Resistance, Tech Recharge Speed, Biotic Power Damage, Power Restoration & Defense. Its unique passive is "Biotic Blink: Evades allow you to quickly traverse a short distance, even seemingly passing through solid matter."
- Your party member "classes": Cora is a "Biotic Commando", Jaal is a "Rrsistance Fighter", Vetra is a "Drifter Mercenary", Drack is a "Veteran Warrior", Peebee is a "Rogue Academic", and Liam is a "Crisis Specialist".
- Cora's skills are Charge, Nova, and Shield Boost. Her passives are Asari Commando and Defensive Training.
- Drack's skills are Blood Rage, Incinerate, and Flak Cannon. His passives are Krogan Warrior and Grizzled Veteran.
- Blood Rage increases Melee Damage, Damage Resistance, Regeneration Delay Reduction. It appears that it can be evolved for increased Damage vs. Armor, Movement Speed, and greater Melee Damage and Damage Resistance boosts.
So Liam and Drack both have powers that are apparently not available by default to Ryder (Shield Boost and Blood Rage). They could be loyalty powers.

So... is Pathfinder every class at once? No and Yes. No, in that to unlock profiles you have to spend points in skills in that tree (Combat/Biotics/Tech), then the more you spend in that tree, the more specialised the profile buffs become, making you more specialised all the time (unless you are evenly spreading your points for a Jack of All Trades type Pathfinder - The Explorer). Yes, in that you aren't locked into one type of role (aka Vanguard, Engineer etc), but have access to all the choosable skills from the get go: you still gotta earn those skill points though, and specialising should, by the rule of RPGs since forever, yield a more potent character than just picking a bit of everything (this is speculation). Personally, I love it - and the combo system seems legit enough for me to not worry about the fact we can't assign squadmates to do 'skill A' or 'skill B', all is rosy folks: can't wait

With the limited number of abilities available to them, that shouldn't be too hard. In Mass Effect 2 and 3, Squadmates were already quite intelligent about using their abilities in conjunction with the simple "attack" command. For example, against Synthetics and Shields, Miranda would use Overload, against Armor, Health and Barriers, she would use warp.

I like that you can set your squad mates' roles to "primer" or "detonator" (not sure what expressions they used, I could only watch the video without sounds but with german subtitles). That way you can make sure that tech/biotic explosions happen without a need to specifically request the appropriate actions from your team mates.
I kinda feel sorry for the enemies in that video. The Pathfinder seems to be the only agile character on the battlefield - everyone else seems to move at walking speed, and the big brute wanders around like it's lost.

hmmm... Are 'Chosen' and 'Anointed' names for common types of footsoldier?
The Kett must be using those terms in a very broad sense, then. I'd say that we'll mow down the 'chosen' and the 'anointed' by the thousands through the game.
So, many are called, and even more are chosen in Kett society; good to know.
(Maybe there's a plot twist at some point, where an 'anointed one' resurrects after three days?)

What's with Canadians and the word "Out"?
Not sure how i feel about the gameplay yet. I just want my standard classes, bah! I like making that choice at character creation, call me old and slow. The AI still looks a bit wonky, but better in this clip. The enemies actually reacted to Ryder shooting at them, one even dodged like a pro.

The point of the video is to showcase profiles and abilities. The player is probably playing at the lowest possible difficulty setting with some tweaks.

The combat looked very fluid and fast. I liked it! Damn shame that I can watch it only from my phone's tiny screen :/ Can't wait to get home and take some screenshots
