Honestly I'd be annoyed if his purpose was self discovery of sexuality, but would still prefer that to his purpose being to leave Scott to go back to the Milky way for some super dramatic important reason (yeah unlikely but I'm terrible at coming up with plausible scenarios on the fly). Oh that would be ridiculous. In that day and age? No way.  I'd be more than annoyed! |

I would like to think that since they got someone from a popular show to do his voice that they would put some amount of effort into him. Why pay all that money if you weren't going to make the most of it? But I also don't know much about voice-acting and typical pay scales so who knows. Honestly, for all we know, the VA could be a fan of the ME franchise and asked to be in the game, and the developers figured they'd exploit his namesake a bit. It is possible. I don't want to be pessimistic here, but the ME team doesn't have the great track record for happy gaymers. You never know. Maybe by this time next month, we'll all be frustrated because we can't choose between Jaal, Gil, or Reyes  Hope springs eternal |

I'm not sure how much of it is because he could be a fan. Unlike with Kumail Nanjiani, I don't recall Natalie Dormer expressing that much interest in the series in her main video - though I haven't watched the other ones so I can't say for sure. |

I don't think they'll rehash Kaidan's gaymance with Gil. He probably either hasn't been in relationships much in general or has been just/mostly with men and is comfortable with being gay. Besides, they know how much some fans hated Kaidan realizing he was bi, so, if they are playing it safe, they won't go that route.

It would dangerous to rehash Kaidan simply because he's the main M/M from the previous series. It would also be dangerous to rehash Dorian, but we'll have to see how it goes. We have very little information on Gil, but if BW did listen to their feedback on Bull and Dorian (and I really hope they do, because the stereotyping of non-straight characters as perverts peeves me off) he should be something new indeed. |

I really liked Dorian and Bull's romance, so much so I stopped romancing either of them in my playthroughs once I found out it was a thing. So I'd like some gay singles and couples among the AI. The main issue with, say, Skyrim is that yeah you can marry someone of the same gender, but it's like you're the lone gay in a sea of het because pretty much every flirting, relationship, marriage between the NPCs is hetero. I appreciate that Peebee has an ex-girlfriend, but it'd be great to see some gay relationships in ME:A between NPCs that are stable and happy. |
