I understand that these things are out of your hands but I hope you understand that this has left a sour taste for many of us. We were told that m/m romances couldnt be discussed and to wait and see during prerelease with the straight romances featured in trailers. We were told devs were happy with the specifics of the romance and were presented with a very disparate spread.
Many of us are very passionate about the character of Gil, he did capture hearts as I'm sure was intended but there is a feeling of being neglected.
As I said I know this isnt your call, I'm not asking you to break the rules just for your understanding of the current mood.

Can you please at least confirm that the team is aware of the issues with Gil's romance arc that are unaffected by the Jaal patch? I do appreciate that patch by the way, even if I ultimately decide not to make the option my personal canon.

I advise being specific about Jill's homophobic treatment of Gil ruining the romance. I mean that is the major issue that needs mending. (at least in my mind)

I'm extremely sorry to burst into here, but does this mean the dev team is aware of the Reyes/Scott dance clipping issue? Just in case you aren't, it looks really bad and it takes place during the romance finale, i.e. the last place where you'd want your character to suddenly get possessed by Pazuzu and start reeling his head around. I've been hoping that this would get fixed from the very first patch, but now I'm afraid it will slip all notice forever. I wish it could be looked into, if there are any more resources allotted for fixes.

The shitty Gil romance doesn't seem to be something BioWare is going to fix. I'm not really into the alien romances, though I'm happy Scott gets a male squadmate to romance. If Gil (or Reyes) had some significant content, it'd be something to draw me in. Fact of the matter is that I first came to ME in general because it's an RPG and I heard a male Shepard could romance a male squadmate. It got the full romance treatment. It's made me happy enough that I still enjoy it. This, though? The Gil romance is insulting and Reyes one is only nominally better (still too short).

To be fair, that is addressed directly in the game by Gil himself. I think the idea behind it was just to have a sort of cute happenstance that a person named Gil and a person named Jill would become close friends. You could have the same thing with another guy named Bill, or Will. I once had a friend that had my same birthday.
Unfortunately in this case, the intention is lost amidst all of the other terrible stuff about Jill, so it seems like a forced, cloying sweetness that instead leaves a bitter aftertaste.
I think Gil is a swell guy, and the romance does have some nice scenes that don't have anything to do with Jill.
