Gamespot: "Playing ME:A left us conflicted"

Honestly, a team of toddlers could make a more coherent and compelling game than this action shooter pretending to be an RPG. Really, did BioWare learn nothing?

Anyway, the guys whole video/article is 'everything about it was amazing, but theres bugs in the old build so I think it'll be terrible'. He praised literally everything about it. Combat, the crafting, the enviroments, the way the Nomad feels good to drive. His only complaint was bugs and the fear it will ruin the game on release.

Which is a totally valid fear, but that'll just make for a shitty launch, not a shitty game. Hopefully they get any major bad bugs squared away though, as im sure many of them where already fixed in the non-cut up old version the press played. No idea WHY they played an old cut up version (except for that's 'how things are done'), but thats what happened.

edit: Oh and he also had the point about how it wont be as new or impactful as the original Mass Effect was... which i mean yeah? It's not the start of a new franchise, it's a continuation. I mean that's kinda how that goes.

didnt complete it yet. i dont need to complete it to be able to confirm just how terrible the game is.

I can't help but be a bit wary of the "feels like" argument, when I consider that the 3 games prior are very different from one another.

i dont think i hate it. i quite like it actually. well, when i say "it", im really only talking about the multiplayer portion.

You'd think these other people would see a train wreck waiting to happen right in front of them. It's clear as day! Have gaming standards really dropped that low? Between the terrible performance, infinite amount of bugs, and reused assets from DAI, I'm surprised this game will even load without crashing upon startup.

Seriously, I don't even know how the employees at BioWare can even live with themselves. Going to work everyday knowing you are selling trash at a whopping $60 a piece? They are either terrible individuals or financial geniuses! I've got to give BioWare credit, though, they always find a way to lower the bar farther than I thought was feasibly possible.

Bananas? That's ingenious! If anything could create an engrossing story with memorable characters that will stand the test of time, they'd certainly do a better job than the "talent" at BioWare! Honestly, BioWare should place both of us on their employment hiring board. Clearly, we would know where to find the freshest bananas that would offer the freshest ideas for an RPG nobody on this forum would even be able to conceive in a million years. The game would be so good it would be a crime to sell.

@op: All the DAI comparisons worry me as well, but none of them have really talked about why. I'm waiting for more information on exploration before I get pessimistic.

If it's at all comforting to you, no, this won't be DAI. For one, it's made by an entirely different studio. There is no overlap between the team at Edmonton and Montreal. I'd take any review you get from any of the "credible gaming media sites" with a grain of salt, or sugar, whatever you prefer.

There are some nice things they can take from DA, like a bigger focus on companions and thicker lore, but he probably means "vast open spaces filled with only discarded optimism" which is not a good thing.

i hope they send them to a bad prison.
