Fair point. But that just illustrates the problem with hetero while males acting like crybabies. Everyone remembers the crybaby part rather than any substantive point you might have had. It won't really matter if you're not planning to hang around on this board, of course. It all comes down to your precious identity politics, eh? I wonder what would be your response to a similar post complaining about, say, black non-hetero gender-fluid otherkin. Hmmm... hadn't thought of it, but I guess I am engaging in a kind of identity politics here. While I'd still be arguing against the idiocy of the position, same as I'd argue against a similar post from someone complaining about the portrayal of "black non-hetero gender-fluid otherkin" -- assuming we ever saw such a post -- I'm personally implicated in hetero white male idiocy in a way that I'm not for other flavors of idiocy.

But what racism are we actually talking about here? I haven't seen any. Worrying about a hate fest against hetero white makes is idiotic, but not racist.
We also need to maintain a distinction between racism which is backed by power and racism which isn't. The latter is deplorable but not particularly harmful.

This is a very simple thread. For the past week or so there has been a constant downpour of doom, gloom, and apocalyptic posting. I figure, why not have something a bit more positive? Does anyone here actually think MEA will be a good game? I do! I hope I'm not alone, but everything I've seen is looking really promising! Is it going to be the greatest thing ever since sliced bread? Probably not. I'm sure, at the very least, it will provide me with hundreds of hours of joy in one of my favorite video game franchises! Honestly, if I can just wear N7 armor, I'll squeal like a five year old! I'm not ashamed! Don't worry, you are certainly not alone to be excited about MEA. I have loved every bioware games since 2007, all of the three mass effect, all of the dragon ages (except DA 2) and even SWTOR. So there is no reason for me to not be hyped for this new release, I have to restrain myself to not watch the two videos of IGN that contains spoiler. I just can't wait anymore. only 16 days left

Racism whether backed by power or not is stupid and should never be a thing due to the fact that different skin pigments are a thing due to science. Hating science is stupid. Even if it starts out harmless, it can eventually grow into something very harmful. Allowing it to continue to grow is something that should not happen. Back on topic, Mass Effect Andromeda looks like it'll be a giant step up from the trilogy. Looking forward to it.

The video was heavily edited so it's hard to understand what's actually happening. I haven't watched the latest one that shows the first 13 minutes of the game. I'm planning on keeping that absolutely fresh and new when I load up the game for the first time! Unless you are playing on a PS4, you can get Origin/EA Access on PC or X1 and start playing in 10 days!

I know its not that spoiler heavy but I want discover the game by really knowing the bare minimum, I remember the disaster that was the ME 2 marketing campaign where they of course had to spoil that garrus was archangel, and that grunt would be our krogan companion and not warlord okeer. I may be in the minority but I would say it : outside of the 2 IGN videos I think the marketing team did a good job at not spoiling the game before its out, like they did in the past with previous bioware games. And yeah I know for the early access, but even if I would play on xbox one or pc, I would not want that. Because playing 10 hours and then the game is removed from me for a week, I would HATE that its not for me. when ill start to play, I will want to finish it IMMEDIATLY, I want to take as much time as I want finishing side quest and do whatever I want to do without stressing about the 10 hours

I didn't keep up with the ME2 marketing at the time, so nothing about ME2's plot was spoiled for me. One of BioWare's goals with MEA was to try and spoil as little as possible. It's something they were following suit after how BGS handled revealing Fallout 4 with minor spoilers. I think it's a great approach for the sake of marketing and really allows the fans to enjoy the game without too much knowledge ahead of time. Fair enough. I just want to play the game! It's been five years, dammit! I don't mind waiting a few more days after I blow through my 10 hours. Maybe I'll have my Nintendo Switch by then and I can occupy myself with Breath of the Wild until MEA unlocks again. I'll figure out something to do.

I finally had time to sit back and watch all the recent videos in the mass effect youtube channel.
The game looks fantastic. I enjoyed them quite a bit.
Maybe getting all my information from this forum was not the best idea. Today I'm more optimistic about Andromeda.

I canceled both my preorders (PC/PS4). None of the pre-release footage has done much for me besides raise questions I haven't gotten sufficient answers to, and shown me things I'm less than thrilled with.
I'm going to try the free demo for EA access on PC when the game is pre released and see how that goes. If I like it, then I'll just go to Best Buy if I want my PS4 copy and get a PC copy off origin then

I wouldn't worry about characters/settings, generally Bioware always managed to do a great job on that. I do sort of worry about the over-aching story though, especially the end part, considering that the last two Bioware games, Mass Effect 3 and Dragon Age Inquisition, were faltering very badly during the end-segment (star-child and that laughable final boss fight in Inquisition.)
As for gameplay and exploration, I personally am not worried about it. Even when the whole world seemed to hate the gameplay and exploration in Inquisition, for example, I actually quite enjoyed it, lol, so I am sure that whatever they're throwing at us later I will enjoy it regardless.
