Ryder vs Shepard

Shepard, because old age and treachery will always beat enthusiasm and youthful exuberance. or whatever version of that parable you have seen.

Exile is the only protagonist I would seriously pitch against Shepard in my heart.

I can think of a number of protagonists that would wipe the floor with Shep, but most of those aren't fair fights because those characters are written as unstoppable gods of destruction. Kind of like how it's currently not fair to pit Shep against Ryder because Shep's feats are so far beyond anything Ryder has done at the moment on account of Ryder not having done anything(as we don't know the full events of ME:A just yet).

Shepard quite easily. Even before the events of Mass Effect 1, Shepard was already one of, if not the best soldier humanity had to offer. A humanity that includes not only Ryder, but every other N7 designated soldier(including Alec Ryder), Shepard was the best.

Both Scott and Sara, at 22, were the lowest rung on the ladder in the Alliance military, they have very little, if any combat experience and were glorified guards. Pretty much they were no more than your typical C-Sec officer, and perhaps they would have been if their daddy wasn't somebody important.

I'm sure BioWare will do something in the story to make Scott or Sara become super special amazing, but what they can't do, is change the background story of these characters, and that background story says, that unless super special amazing happens, Ryder(both) will never be able to lace the boots of Shepard.

Shepard was on the back of a mini-ship, said "F this", got off, and fought a Reaper one-on-one.

Shepard....obviously.

Hell...we could be still playing as him/her if it wasn't for the dynamic duo.

Considering we have no idea about the Ryder's skills or abilities it's impossible to say.

Even Krogans are afraid of Shepuurd. Seriously, Shep would take out whole Ryder family at once.

Just  Shepard? Or the entire citadel defense force and a large portion of the human systems alliance?

And hundreds of what exactly in ME2? The Geth aren't AI/Organic symbionts, neither are the Collectors. Geth are pure AI, Collectors are heavily genetically modified organics, but none of these are AI/Organic symbionts.

And by ME2 Shepard is just a fragment shy of being a symbiont himself. Only not completely, hence, Ryder wins

Well...Shepard begins Mass Effect as an N7 badass and war hero before the game even starts. So even if we're talking about from their first outing this seems like the most lopsided argument ever considering Ryder is supposed to be untested.

Doesn't matter whether it's Shep or Ryder, mine is callous enough to destroy the shit out of them... the aliens, the bad guys, tentacle monsters, et cetera, et cetera...

TBH I hate it when they write those two words wrong. Correct form: Rider / Shepherd
