Shepard headbutted Krogan.

The most badass and powerful (after wrex ) krogan in the galaxy considers Shepard as his Battlemaster.

Shepard kicked the fuck out of Tela Vasir.

Shepard knocked the hell out of Shadow Broker.

Shepard beat Garruss the space batman at shooting flying bottles!

Shepard is the first human spectre.

Shepard pulled of the quickest interrogation in the history.

Shepard gets all the ladies.

Shepard is faster than leopard.

Shepard solves all the daddy issues.

Shepard has killer dance moves.

Shepard resisted Ardat-Yakshi

Shepard probed uranus.

So, what you got, Ryder?

The Collectors are barely sentient, let alone sapient. Their implants are because of intensive indoctrination, not the reason for their indoctrination.  Pretty much the only reason a Collector can do anything at all is because they have implants.

This is not the case for Ryder, he's fully sapient and sentient, he's just augmented.



And lets be honest here, I'm mostly poking fun at people who can not get over the ME3 endings

Ryder is almost a total greenhorn, Shep was a seasoned soldier by the time we met up with him in ME1.

To be clear:
-Sovereign included an attack by a fleet, and a split consciousness disrupting defenses
-Human Reaper was a 'larvae', aka not on the level of 'main' Reapers
-The Reapers Shepard destroys in ME3 are classified as Destroyers, aka not on the level of 'main' Reapers
-The Tuchanka Reaper included an attack by the biggest known Thresher Maw
-The Rannoch Reaper included a focused bombardment by a heavily armed fleet
-Shepard is almost always in a squad; that is, there's two others canonically responsible for victory along with Shepard


Shepard doesn't really 'fight a Reaper on foot'. Heck, arguably, others have done that instead of Shepard - getting into a Reaper and setting off bombs.

There's a lot that can position Shepard as not just the most powerful, but downright godly. But there's always something that acts as reminder that this is still just a man, who needs allies, technologies, good fortune, rest, and so on.

Ryder may at least technically be more powerful in terms of skillset, and may be tested in potentially bigger direct fights. But whether this translates into being 'better' than Shepard, I dunno.

We can at least insist that a particular characteristic of Shepard as a protagonist is that he's strong willed. I imagine him to be considered to have the strongest will than any possible future ME protagonist. This will translates to the greatest determination, the most focused and aggressive approaches, and a growing reputation for being a nearly unstoppable force (at least his ME2 'New Shepard' form).

So for fun, I can picture in my head an experienced Ryder using all sorts of tricks but Shepard still pushing through that and punching Ryder out. lulz to be had.

Easily Shepard...he is like the John Cena/ Goku /Bruce Lee/ Hulk Hogan/ Roman Reigns/ Neo/ Batman/ Superman of this series.....a far as everybody else?
