Not sure what the deal is here..no way textures and facial animations in ME2 and 3 should be superior to this current effort...those cutscenes with Scott was atrocious. Environments and everything else looks good tho....not sure what the issue is because i have never played Dragon Age I, (and some members here have posted images and vids from that game which look superior to this in terms of facial animations/ character models) and i'm assuming the same folks that worked on that game are also working on this?.... Again maybe this just points back to the Frostbite engine itself....looking back at older games, character models overall just look better....yeah it won't ruin the experience, but those blank stares and plastic look of the characters need to be addressed.

Coming off the the elevator hell in the normandy and skyhold which was way too big, I wonder how many loading screens we have to go through for the nexus, why can't we order research on the tempest?

Alright, I'll say it: Yes, the human facial animations ARE subpar in the video. They might be fixed in the final version, who knows. But honestly, if that will be my only gripe with this game? It'll have succeeded massively.

While watching the Tour of the Nexus, Addison really caught my attention. Her eyes are completely lifeless. I wonder what deal is; do they not want to see the effort to make the eyes more real and lively or is this the best they can currently do with Frostbite. I have no idea. Yes, the facial animations could be better - not so "Hey, I use botox" like but just making more lively eyes would help a long way. Still, I can't wait to play this game, no matter what.

Frostbite likely has nothing to do with animation, armchair devs.

Im getting the impression that our daddy don't die in the opening of the game given that we can visit his room and snoop around his stuff at various points in the game. Unless everything is completely static (aka, never updates) then it points to him still living there. It could be that he's just missing and the game keeps sending you back to his office to find different clues.

They look like they're locked in a thousand yard stare. "Saigon. Shit, I'm still in Saigon. Every minute I stay in this room, I get weaker. And every minute Charlie squats in the bush, he gets stronger."

It'll have succeeded massively. Yeah, the reviewers played (and likely took their footage from) the earlier unpatched build of the game. The devs have already said the animation bug-fix will be included in the Day 1 Patch, which should hopefully sort out many of these issues. Maybe the animations will still be a bit janky in the final game, but it is being worked on. Even if it's not entirely sorted in the Day One patch, they'll keep working on it in future patches. People need to quit bellyaching about this issue, they've heard our complaints and are fixing it as we speak. Cut them some slack, guys.

If you will be playing it in a potato, then maybe Inquisition does look better. Inquisition looks loads better than this. Was he playing it on medium or something? Everything looks flat and lacks shadows. It doesn't. Okay. Move on.

Foster is 34 years older than in that profile picture, remember, that the Nexus arrived decades ahead of Hyperion. What? When was this confirmed? I know Hyperion makes contact late, but it can't take that long. The characters have not aged that much, and how likely is it they wouldn't have ecountered the Kett or Angaara in all that time? Take Foster and Sloane: Foster looks the same age in both shots, she was just redesigned. People don't get brown hair when they age, they get grey hair, and they don't change eye colour. And Sloane looks identical before and after the trip. It was confirmed, Nexus arrived about three decades earlier than Hyperion, Hyperion is a late arrival. Why else do you think they have put up all those outposts, like Kadara? They couldnt have done that if they all arrived the same time, theyd be just starting to set them up. The middle ring wasnt build either before the trip, it would still be incomplete, if we had arrived at the same time. Also the angaran were contacted in some time after that, thats why we know their language, but i dont know how long the ago the kett arrived, they could be relative newcomers like us, maybe couple of years ahead. Also human lifespan has grown to 150 years in ME universe due to the high technology so aging has slown a bit. I suppossed the profiles were taken before the trip, it would make sense, so everyone has aged 34 years. its true that ther might ahve been some character tweaking, who knows.

What's with the fish lips in Andromeda lol. Looks like everyone is a fish trying to get food at the top of the tank. Meh i'm not as caught up on the animations as much as I am the eyes. As you can see here the eyes in Andromeda look so dead compared to ME2. They have no soul! and how did we go from humans with distinctive skin blemishes to humans that look like plastic dolls. How does this happen?

Nice to finally get some hard numbers regarding the physical size of the Nexus, as I think a lot of people were worried about the lore implications of the Andromeda Initiative building a citadel-sized space station within the time frame of the trilogy. 15.47km in length compared to the Citadel's 44.7km, so the Nexus will be just over a third of the size of the Citadel once it's finished. A huge undertaking for the AI, but the Nexus is still dwarfed by the Citadel.

How is it possible for IGN to give an unbiased review at this stage? The same way GI does it, to all the games they have monthly coverage on. IGN preview wasn't one of the most positive either.

Let me guess, the trip takes 600 years but takes us 634 right? More likely 600 is just a rounded number for how long the trip takes to make it easier to say in marketing. In the first 13 minute video, nobody seems to be freaking out that their clocks put the trip at 634 years which means that is probably what was expected, maybe a little longer than expected but not enough for worry.

Re the whole Liara bit, just because we hear her does not mean she is going to be around in the game. That could easily be just some kind if audio book from an authority on other species, etc who just happens to be Liara.

I'm definitely not expecting her in the game, and I think I now know what Shepard's gender will do. Alec probably has research data from Liara and Shepard about certain things. Or maybe we hear a vid conversation between Alec and Shepard.
