Re the whole Liara bit, just because we hear her does not mean she is going to be around in the game. That could easily be just some kind if audio book from an authority on other species, etc who just happens to be Liara. I'm definitely not expecting her in the game, and I think I now know what Shepard's gender will do. Alec probably has research data from Liara and Shepard about certain things. Or maybe we hear a vid conversation between Alec and Shepard. Liara was a xenoarchaelogist, the study of dead alien races. With something called "the Remnant" out there, it would make sense to study the works of such specialists

Is Liara the shadow broker before the Initiative leaves? If so, I would like to think she has her hand in the intuitive at least in terms of funding. Her friendship with Alec would be pretty cool as well.

What's with the fish lips in Andromeda lol. Looks like everyone is a fish trying to get food at the top of the tank. Meh i'm not as caught up on the animations as much as I am the eyes. As you can see here the eyes in Andromeda look so dead compared to ME2. They have no soul! and how did we go from humans with distinctive skin blemishes to humans that look like plastic dolls. How does this happen? I have no idea what happened, but it's baffling.

They surely would have thought to take the entire intellectual output of the galaxy with them on the expedition; which by that time probably could fit on a thumbdrive anyhow. Liara's lectures could be part of that.

I imagine it was intentional. She was a published scholar, it's not too farfetched that Alec would be studying her lectures or notes. Given her important role in MW events. Also, am I the only one underwhelmed by Vortex? Maybe I'm just spoiled after Afterlife in Omega. I hope there are more interesting bars in Andromeda. The thing though, is that if Bioware is going to use one of the voices for a major character like Liara, then it raises chances of one of the following: 1)The character is in somewhere in the rest of the game (would have to be a shocking surprise in MEA's case) 2)The character is planned for future DLC (in this case, we could imagine a epilogue DLC that connects the two galaxies and a return of Liara) 3)The actor is utilized for voicing other characters, and was just asked to voice this bit as well It doesn't prove any of these by a long shot. But it is more likely that one of these things is happening, than Bioware going "Ali, voice these few lines as Liara and nothing more". #3 is most likely until further notice.

Most likely the case, but if she has somehow survived, made it into this game and Bioware kept it from us I will romance that so hard. Sorry Shepard.

No one from ME3 is in this game, people. Y'all are wishful thinking if y'all expect Liara to ever show up. She could technically be dead so don't count on it.

For the sake of argument, she survived ME3, The AI left before ME3 started so unless she has her own personal AI ship hiding somewhere, there's no way for her to even get to Andromeda.

It doesn't. Okay. Move on. I mean if the animations are the only thing that people are harping it must me that the rest of the game look fantastic. XD This. The rest of the game looks great to me so far. Facial animations, the eyes, just the lifelessness in general is my only real complaint. I hope the improvements are noticeable. People can say what they want, but they can't deny that much of the facial animations shown so far have been very bad.

Two things that could help improve the animations would be to sync the upper eyelid movement with the top of the pupil (covering the upper part of the iris) and focus the eyes on a single point when they look at something (rather than having the unfocused "thousand yard stare" look).

Well, I guess if it turns out the game itself makes up for it with good pacing, content, exploration and customization then the animations can stay crappy. The last videos gave me Fallout 4 vibes for some reasons and it's not necessarily a bad thing. I'm starting to feel more curious than skeptical now.

The Nexus looks good and I think I'll spend a lot of time crafting weapons and armor! Cons: the bar looks very bland and boring and the animations and especially facial animations were terrible, they seem way worse than ME3 and Dragon Age Inquisition. Eh. That surprises me the most. It's the same engine, the animations should look better since they already have experiance with Frostbite. How they ended looking worse is beyond me.

I hope making new drinks is a big thing. I never cared for the potion stuff in Witcher or Skyrim but I just love the sound of this drink system.

As you can see here the eyes in Andromeda look so dead compared to ME2. They have no soul! and how did we go from humans with distinctive skin blemishes to humans that look like plastic dolls. How does this happen? I have no idea what happened, but it's baffling. Here's an idea. A lot of the good talent left the company over the last 5 years. The same goes for the story which worries me the most. Part of me is hopeful in that so much of the main talent working on Andromeda in fact never worked on Mass Effect before (aside from DLC and remote work) but I'm especially worried now that it's this soft-reboot that the IP, the setting, the new stuff that isn't just reintroduced or reiterated the way ME2 and ME3 did (becuase ME1 set up the universe so brilliantly in 2007), is not going to be as memorable or well-written and therefore you fail to feel as attatched to Andromeda's Mass Effect universe compared to what ME1 made you feel. Things like, is there enough depth to the new lore for a sequel to flesh it out and keep it interesting? I'm just saying, I was a huge Ace Attorney fan and that series degraded as soon as the main writer was done with his trilogy. It wasn't very noticeable at first but soon enough I just stopped caring and not because it was too much of the same but because you could feel how all it had going for it was the work the original writer had done. His IP conventions, the setting, the implicit rules of the narrative and the cast, but slowly it was bastardized and just going by the last 3 games the script was painfully dull, almost not even re-capturing the characterization of past characters. It got dumbed down and less interesting. I've got this feeling for a long time that this is happening to Mass Effect, if not now, it could happen someday... to any franchise, but Mass Effect is/was so rich and good you just hope it keeps staying that way. Going to Andromeda is a huge risk in terms of recreating whatever wonder or draw the series had to begin with. We're partly covered by the Milky Way species but what about everything that isn't that. Am I really going to care for this less contemporary setting that happens 600 years in the future with Earth nowhere in sight? Part of the applicability and pondering aspects, maybe just part of the "sci-fi" is kinda gone now... unless they do a great job with whatever Andromeda is. However, they said they started by "coming up with characters" and that's not really reassuring to me, because no great plot will ever come of that approach. David Gaider said that the first character he ever inserted into the time and setting of Dragon Age Inquisition was Solas, and that turned out to be the biggest narrative pull that tied the whole game's plot together in many ways. The throughline was created from him. I'm hoping Mac or Schlerf wrote Alec and co. first and then they came up with companions because if they truly started thinking "ME4 guys: Let's create companions, 2 humans, one Krogan, Asari, Turian and an unknown species!" then that's a bit worrying to me in terms of narrative.
