There is another post that says they plan on adding it to the game later on hopefully it's free dlc or a really cheap price Free DLC, from EA? I think we can all keep dreaming. The Black Emporium was free plus the alt appearance packs were always cheap anyway

Free DLC, from EA? I think we can all keep dreaming. Probably will be an alternate appearance pack like the others in previous games if not available in the base game via patch or freeLC. But you still had to pay for them. And they made little to no difference in Combat. I bought them for ME:2 and 3, and Miranda still gets her arse handed to her because she keeps moving from cover.

I don't think it's too big a deal. From a gameplay perspective the only meaningful factor armor provided was it's stats. But now they allow you to affect the character stats in different ways. So armor is not really relevant to gameplay anymore. Different types of weapons also differed by stats. But here they are letting you upgrade the companions default weapon stats instead of making you get the stats by getting different weapons. Since upgrading one weapon over and over should have the same affect as simply buying better ones I don't think that new guns for companions will be relevant to gameplay either.
So the only real downside to this is that players may not be able to make their characters look the way they want which I think is unfortunate. I guess they want the companions in their games to seem more independent than they have in previous games so they don't let you change things that a living, breathing person would be able to change themselves. The problem though is that the characters may not want to change at all which could get a little stale but we'll see.

Man don't get me started on how much I hate profiles. The whole point of biotics is that they're special (crappy special but yeah). Now Ryder can flip from biotic to infiltrator? Fuck outta here. That SAM excuse better be the best. This isn't a huge leap from the ability to select bonus abilities in NG+. I say my Shepard is a Vanguard, but in ME1, she was a soldier that had Throw as her bonus power, basically making a makeshift Vanguard that could use every weapon in the game.

Sad to see this I always enjoyed giving certain squad members cool looking weapons I didn't want to use myself. For instance I always gave garrus the mattock because it looked cool on him and I felt a single shot rifle was more towards his combat style.

Wait what? So you're ALWAYS a biotic? ...I actually think I hate that more because then it begs the question of why you're picking any class that's not biotic based. Least if Sam was pulling space magic out his ass I could sort of jive with it (after all I fully see the Protheans as having a hand in how the Asari are so biotically powerful). Well I don't see how else they could explain the player being able to use biotics without already having implants. However I also don't see how they would explain why someone with implants wouldn't have biotic abilities by default but I guess video game logic wins here. If we had more skill slots it'd be nice to see a Ryder specific tree where you had biotic abilities that complimented your class if you didn't decide to focus biotics (or strengthened them if you did). So at least then it's not "well I have biotics but I don't use them ever for reasons~" but more you'd rather use guns. (We all sentinels now pretty much )

It was far more than 2 armor sets in ME3. (And with DLC it was more in ME2). Like I get it doesn't bother you that's great. Please stop trying to tell me what should bother me. Not to mention in ME3 you could mod their weapons as much as you could Shepard's. Not the type of course but you couldn't do that for Shepard either in ME2 (and doing that in ME1 was an exercise in rage considering the accuracy and sway if you didn't have levels in pistol/whatever) since each class had it's own loadout). K you can stop with the opinion disclaimers. I get that it's your opinion. I'm having an opinion on your opinion. This is a forum not a blog. AGAIN, they didn't say you can't pick between armor sets, just that you can't customize them. They didn't say you can't mod the weapons, just that you can't choose them. You could not modify armors in ME2 and ME3, and you could not change their gun loadout in ME2 and ME3. What he said is consistent with past design patterns. Then I'd appreciate it if you'd stop shoving words in my mouth thanks. And my complaint was about both switching between set armors and set weapon types. And I never said you could do that so your point?

NG+ was always assumed by me to be pure video game extra stat. I don't count that as having anything to do with the lore it was just there for bonuses in combat. (I'm pretty sure said bonus abilities are completely ignored outside of combat and the game goes by the class you chose for bonus dialogue about biotics and whatnot). It's the same thing as picking a new class upon import. Pure game feature and the game pretends you were that all along. (All my adepts magically become infiltrators for ME2 because playing adept in ME2 makes me rage).

It's how I settled on Shepard suddenly being able to biotic charge.

Isabella running around Kirkwall with no pants was a bit strange, but to each their own. Jack running around in nothing but cargo pants and straps in space was... well, it was completely ridiculous, unrealistic, and... just baffling. Me, I prefer having more options. I thought DAI did a great job allowing equipment versatility while maintaining a unique profile for each character. I think that should be the benchmark.

Pretty much reached this conclusion once the game play vids started rolling out. Personally after playing DA:I and doing a recent ME1 play through managing my squad/companion's equipment definitely became a chore at times especially since I am very particular about appearances and the gear I wanted them to wear. This meant constantly browsing the merchants wares or dying gear to be just the right colors. It would have been nice to get some alternative appearance options though admittedly I don't recall using them myself in the previous games.
It is too bad about not being able change weapons though. It looks like there will be a lot of new guns in Andromeda and I definitely would have liked to distribute them to my team mates even if there were weapon type restrictions like in ME2/3.
What really bugs me is that while everyone now has a designated weapon we still have random assault rifles popping up in cutscenes. One of my biggest pet peeves in 2 & 3. Still this isn't a deal breaker for me and I'm still very much looking forward to the game.

There's no real excuse to have weapons change in cutscenes when the character is scripted to only have a specific loadout.

ME3 doesn't even try to pretend to have an excuse either XD That said I try to have my classes make sense with the origin. (So no biotic earthborns for me). I'm Colonist/Sole Survivor Trash. (Well that or Colonist/War Hero I'm so typical). I don't think my adept shepard would be too pleased to realize he was actually an infiltrator (seriously though biotics being worthless against shields and then 90% of enemies having shields was some bullshit. Tali's energy drain was the only reason I could play adept without screaming. I really hope that crap goes away. It should lessen biotics not make them worthless).

Aye, one need only browse the old BSN for a matter of minutes to understand that visual customisation is hugely important to many people, myself included. To have it outright removed, in the manner of the shit show that was DA2, is super disappointing.

One of THE first and most popular MOD's for DA:2 was an Isabella pant's MOD, because almost everyone found her lack of clothing ridiculous. I'd bet my last fiver, that the same thing will happen with this game. Whether EA support MODDING or not.....People will find a way. PS: What a shame that I'll be playing on Xbone.
