it's mostly small men filled with self loathing. most big dudes I've known are really chill about... well everything.

and women do it to other women too you every seen a woman tear into another for not being pretty enough or more likely these days being too girly and feminine.

Could also be that some dudes get super jacked to make up for their lack of height. I know this isn't the case for every short body builder but it is for some.

They just want to put other people down to make them feel better about themselves. This is nothing new.

Humans are hierarchy-focused animals. Determining who is alpha and beta is instinctual, more so in men... but it's in all of us. To a degree we can't help but use some arbitrary visual cue to determine social worth. Men tend to fall back on "size". A larger man is more physically imposing and our subconscious perceives them as dominant. It helps explain why larger men tend to be more calm, they walk through life with their subconscious perceiving other people as less of a threat. Opposite for smaller men, who perceive others as more of a threat in physical terms. I mean... the cliche of the bigger school child picking on the smaller one is pretty universal. That psychology never really leaves us... it just gets put through more social filters as we age.

I don't understand why people are calling Scott a "manlet" or a "beta cuck" (which is literally one of the most ridiculous phrases I've ever heard), when he's 6'1 and likely has a much more muscular build than 90% of the users of these forums.

Even if he was like 5'8, he still has a muscular build. Get out of here with the fragile conceptions of masculinity, you aren't less masculine just because you're 5'8, and being 5'10 doesn't make you more "alpha" (lol) than someone who's 5'8.

I don't like the "alpha" or "beta" terminology because I think it's stupid and reductionist. Does that make me a whiny beta because I don't like it or a big strong alpha because I don't care?
