Over the last few days I played and finished the "Frozen Wilds" DLC of Horizon Zero Dawn at a friend's place. While I was annoyed at times by the bad visibility I mostly enjoyed it because the base game is so good and going on the hunt for some machines somehow never gets old. Also the dialogues at the end revealed some more information about the game as a whole which was nice.

In other news I have basically "finished" Fallout Shelter after ~260 hours (logged in Steam). Meaning: there is basically nothing to do after I'm done with equipping every vault dweller with the best stuff. Amazing how I have put more hours into this game than in all the other Fallout games combined...

I've been exploring labyrinthine corridors of The Darkest Dungeon again... I'm a sucker for Lovecraft and this game manages to capture him quite perfectly. No deaths so far, but I expect that to change soon

Been playing God of War recently, ive been doing side quests and the main journey itself and it felt like i was already through half of the game, but when i check my progress i've only done 15%.... .....that is a sign of great story structure and designs....the side-quests (favors) are interesting and you feel rewarded after finishing them and afterwards you can get right back on the main quest which is interesting in itself. I also love Kratos growth as a character....he's not a raging lunatic as in previous games and he is written amazingly well here......stunning visuals and the dynamic between Kratos and his son are masterfully implemented....

Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion on my PC. Was free on Steam for a day just prior to Christmas. I missed that window but it was on sale for $10 CDN the next day.

Uhm... Anthem...? I'm sorry guys (especially to the ones who want to invite me to ME3MP every now and then) Haha. Well, I see one or two of my old ME3 friends playing Anthem lately as well. They of course obviously see that I'm back playing ME3 MP in the past several months. Hey, I know those guys, they like to jump on the new game t train. They all did it for Andromeda as well. Me, they know that I'm more of a wait and see kind of guy when it comes to these "next greatest game you just HAVE to HAVE". I've seen too much. Far too often these companies (EA, Bethesda, et al) have put out the next game in a beloved series, or a completely new game, and it's a broken mess. Six months later and it's still getting patched. Going on a year and finally people are beginning to complain less and are actually having some fun playing it. May as well wait for the sale by then. Anthem to me is no different. lol, and sure enough as we speak I am also logged onto ME3 MP. About to start a new game.

Recently went back to Borderlands 2. It's such a good game. I haven't played the DLCs yet and upgraded recently to the Handsome Collection for such a cheap price. Probably will be playing Borderlands 1 again as well seeing as an upgrade is around the corner and I have never played the Pre-Sequel which I own now as well.

Just slightly on topic of Sekiro, because I don't think anyone else is gonna bring this up.
Honest to an asari goddess herself I thought Sekiro was gonna be pronounced Sa Keer woah, it reminds me of Shakira and i'm actually so freakin happy I wasn't the only stupid soul on this planet who thought the same thing as soon as I saw the name of this game.
If I did buy Sekiro, I'd prepare a Shakira playlist as I play and mute the game music instead lmao.
But for real though Sekiro is actually pronounced Sekk key woahhh, it's fast and sharp and doesn't sound like the former I mentioned lol.

My PS3 couldn't even handle lolsilver without crashing, so I finally retired from ME3. Or so I thought. I gave my disc a wipe the other day and have managed a dozen or so games without a crash, so I guess I'm back playing the game I love best. I still hate the feckin Geth though, it must be said. In the period when I wasn't playing ME3, I played Red Dead Redemption 2 and Resident Evil 2, which I think almost everyone would agree are both pretty special in their own way. I played the campaign of The Division 2 as a solo experience, which I wouldn't really recommend, although it passed the time competently for a while. If I had friends who also played it I'd be quite happy to engage in some co-op play. The gameplay is very polished - good guns and probably the best cover system I've encountered. Utterly devoid of story though. What might be considered slightly more controversial is my assessment that Days Gone is one of the most enjoyable gaming experiences I've ever had. It may have lacked polish on release, but what game doesn't these days? If I could have imagined a game purely to appeal to my own sense of what I enjoy, I'm not sure I could have done a better job than what Bend Studios came up with. That's not to say it's perfect, as it certainly isn't, but it works for me in all the ways that matter. I've put enough hours into ME3 on PS3 to illustrate that the odd glitch or frame loss here and there isn't a major problem! Days Gone may bring absolutely nothing new to the table, but it cherry picks from The Last of Us, Far Cry and Assassin's Creed and then wraps those elements up in a setting that just works on its own merits. Criticisms beyond the technical aspects seem to be focused on that lack of originality, repetitiveness and a meandering, overlong story. I think the technical term I would use to describe those criticisms would be 'bollocks'. I just played the game as if it was a post-pandemic survival simulator, without using fast travel or chasing the main plot missions, and I think that's the best way to approach it. The idea that 'fast travel' could be in any way superior to riding a motorbike is problematic for me. Since my stroke I've only ridden my bike once and I miss it so much it hurts, but the rumble of Deacon St John's hog thundering through my 7.1 sound system has been an absolute joy. I've only ever achieved Platinum trophies for ME2, ME3 and Fallout 4, but I can now add Days Gone to that list as well. Highly recommended to anyone with a PS4 and a load of time on their hands. Now, after all that I understand there's a Reaper threat, with no time for aerial bombardment....

Now, after all that I understand there's a Reaper threat, with no time for aerial bombardment.... I have to say, I'm pretty hooked on The Division 2 myself right now. Only 28 hours in, but about 26 of those have been entirely solo. I have to agree about the cover system, absolutely perfect. Right up until those goddamned explosive RC cars equipped with Buzz Saws. Easily more evil than even Abominations. Maybe if the Abomination also had a Geth Prime Drone's Staggering Incinerate blast, maybe that would be the same level of evil. Or maybe those absurdly heavily armoured bastards with Sledgehammers. Not sure which is worse. The gun handling is also excellent, and I am totally in love with the Marksman Rifles... all of them, but especially the SRS series. The combination of Marksman Rifle for Sniping, LMG for crowd control (easy enough to ping the cover of 2-4 enemies to toggle them into "Suppressed" mode and calm the situation down for a few seconds), and a Sawn-Off shotgun as a side-arm for dealing with the rushers who get past, has felt to me the best combination of guns that I've had in any game (even without the side-arm), I never feel lacking for firepower, and rarely feel "overpowered". As to solo vs co-op, I find myself enjoying solo more, as I feel free to go at my own pace, and go AFK between skirmishes to do whatever, or pause to loot or let my powers cooldown. I always feel the need to either "keep up" with the action, or "not rush ahead", or basically just keep stuff happening when co-op. The possibilities for Team-play within the game would be pretty good (I wouldn't mind having a friend who specialized in Flamer Turret and Bulwark Shield to give me free potshots with my Marksman Rifle), but at the end of the day, a Healing Drone, with an Assault Turret tends to make solo just comfortable enough that I don't feel the need to try and find people. A surprising addition to my recently enjoyed list was Mad Max, I downloaded it from the Origin Vault a while back for giggles, expecting a totally mediocre experience of bland proportions. Holy hell was I wrong. It might not be a masterpiece, but it IS an excellent open-world game. I'm sure roaming around the badlands sitting atop little more than an engine with wheels, being built up over time, piece by piece, into an epic monstrosity powered by the throaty growl of a V8 (once you finally obtain it) helped the enjoyment factor quite a bit. Much like Assassin's Creed, it seems most of this game is to be found in side activities, rather than the main storyline itself. Personally, I don't have a problem with that if the side content is sufficiently engaging, and while repetitive, I found myself oddly satisfied with filling the map with little green tick marks. For the less surprising, I finally got around to trying Final Fantasy 15, probably more to ensure that the list of Final Fantasies that I haven't played stayed short. It might not be a terrible game, but it was exceptionally bland, and the performance/optimization was... lacking to say the least (although, apparently, this issue only pertains to the Steam version). As sad as it is, I enjoyed soloing the MP Campaign ("Comrades") much, much more than the rest of the game.

I have played through Rage 2 recently and while it was fun at times, it was also boring at the same time... Well, technically not the same time but every now and then in between the fun parts. I had higher hopes for it and expected more but I don't regret playing it or anything. I'm much more excited about Doom Eternal though launching this November. I might also check out Destiny 2 in September as soon as it migrates to Steam and the base game becomes F2P. Other than that I've recently enjoyed playing some Anthem again and also conspiring with a friend about how to end the world in Plague Inc. Quite a fun game even though I prefer sitting on the couch and discussing strategies and have my friend do the mouseclicking

recently found oblivion (+ his DLCs) for PS3 at only 8€ in an little shop, so, since it was a price i could afford to buy, + that i already got an PS3 (that i owned for 59€ about 1 year ago) i bought it.
and i must say oblivion is far more funny than morrowind and skyrim (especially the NPC dialogues, their AI, etc... it allow so much ways of accomplishing some quest in an total akward way)
i ll not post screen here of my character (cuz don't want to start a drama because, just for the lol, i made him similar to an western politician who's quite polemic, i ll not tell here wich. but thoose who are on my discord community probably know if they looked at the photos i posted)
and aside from that, i often log into few F2P tank-related games to farm (world of tanks, war thunder, armored warfare)

NFL pre-season is right around the corner so i've been firing up NFL2k5 on the rickety ps2.... ....i still have a blast when playing that game and i haven't been back to madden since....Madden visuals may be superior now, but madden still has weird hit detection and animations and the players walk and move kinda weird in cut scenes after the play....and even after all these years madden still cannot touch 2k5's halftime show.....that game was lightyears beyond its time and it still feels like a more fully realized and authentic game of football.... Replays and overall presentation are still an incredible thing to watch....
My Cowboys and The Giants tho?... ...that is a conversation for another day.....
