That's right, I meant that we're forced to romance in W1.
ah my bad, haven't played TW1 (and obviously you have sort of a similar thing in TW3, where you're prompted to choose between Triss and Yen and then whichever one you spurn acts cranky about it later in the game.. even if you're not strictly forced to choose- I hate it when they force that sort of stuff on you)
Triss and Yen spend the entirety of the three games manipulating you and using either magic or trickery to make you fall in love with them, only to then treat you like a rag and shamelessy try to use you in whatever stratagem they are planning.
IMO you're much better off dumping these two bitches and instead focus your attention on whatever other romantic interest or amorous adeveture you find interesting, without having to worry about being stuck in a relashionshio with an abusive woman.
Look at this one for example
There are plenty of other similar opportunities in the game and, unlike the main romances, nobody is going to drop you off a portal into a lake if you do something they don't like.

Ac Odyssey is my least favourite AC Game
I still had fun for the first 20 hours, but then I quickly realized how bloated the game was. The fact that the map is too big does not contribute to the positive either.
At some point I completely lost sight of the focus on the main story, because the game throws too much (Side) Activitys/Quests at the Player.
Origins is imo far superior, since it has the best balance between Mapsize and Content

yeah I was sort of underwhelmed by the romance storylines in TW3 anyways (I haven't read any of the books, so I have no attachment to any of these characters, as most of the real die-hard Yen or Triss stans seem to), most playthroughs I just nominally follow along with the Yen romance because that's clearly the one the narrative of the game is pushing you towards, but its really the open world and side-quest content (the monster contracts specifically) that make that game imo
still hocked on the witcher, but a bit pissed with bugs and stuff, especially when it kills a romance with a nice looking naked green gal of the elve type
Do I remember it correct that you're forced to romance in that game and whatever your choice is, the other is going to be pissed off? I hated that.
You're going to be with Triss in W2 no matter what so don't fear hooking up with Shani if you want. Otherwise, if you choose Triss, you'll have a second chance for a night with Shani in W3.
I m not sure i have been forced yet, but anyway, i like both ! i m a the start of chap III (had at least 3 sex scene in 30 min there, lol), i dont remember if i was forced in the prologue with triss, definitely not forced in chap II with Shani. But i kinda remember accepting romance intercourses was easier for assignment completions at some point. I think both girl will fight for me, at least that s easy money for the writers. Kinda suck if you r forced indeed. Though i wont be, cause i have a clear preference for now. Wasnt that the case in ME 1 and 2 and 3 ? Ya, but u could deal with not pissing the others and mostly, starting romance with more than one NPC was on you.

Tally ho, lads. 🐋
Been a while since the last time i posted something on this filthy respectable section of our dear uBSN. Stay safe, wash them hands with ryncol and don't go out without Medigel and a salarian-tier gas/facemask.
That said, it's really, really good. I played the vanilla game first (thanks largely to a great review by HamleticTortoise ) and thoroughly enjoyed it, to the extent that I bought the dlc. Despite the crashes, I've played the WotC version 3 times, as it transforms the game, introducing several great innovations. It's highly addictive. I finished it on the second hardest difficulty setting without losing a soldier, leaving only the hardest setting for me to complete.
Wait, you could finish WotC? i could never get pass certain point of the DLC because of crashes (16Gb of ram is too little to handle more than 50 mods, it seems), never the less, it was highly addictive and i started a new game like 3 or 5 times (each one with less mods installed than the previous one) before i gave up.
Now i just waste time between, Squad, Wargame: red dragon and Pillars of eternity II.

Yep, I finished it 3 times - once on each difficulty setting up to but not including the hardest. I lost count of how many crashes and restarts I needed though. It was torture, but the addiction was real. Eventually it corrupted to the extent that I couldn't load it at all and had to uninstall it. All of this was on a PS4 Pro, so no mods were in play. I played the vanilla game again on my older PS4 and it ran smoothly without any crashes. That was until the day I decided to install WotC again out of curiosity to see if the lower resolution settings might make it more playable, but the damn thing crashed while I was still finishing off the vanilla playthrough, without ever having attempted to play WotC. Such a shame.

so you choose which gurl?
I accidently choose creepy Triss. W1 gameplay was some hard shit. I think I spent years in the swamp.

the triss, shani might be better in books than it looks in the game, but she seems psychorigid and always pissed. While the other looks better and have a more important role in the plot. She seems more open too.
fights are pretty easy but can go to hell pretty quick, a lot like ME1. i always start thinking to go for the hard mode, then enemies get far better just later and i stick to normal. I think i ll switch to hard if i find the option (i didnt last time). Swamp are a bit boring to walk around, especially in zones with dead ends. Too bad teleports only works well in 2 chapters.
writing and dialogs suck a lot on many occasion, but characters (chap IV is a good exemple, fisher king, lake lady, hermit are really cool chars, but quests and main story line are below average), immersion, music and sceneries are really cool

How to go through swamps: – draw your silver sword – run I don't remember if there was a running mode or not but having the silver sword drawn while there are enemies around gives you the highest movement speed.

yeah, i ignored most of them if possible but u end up cornered sometimes, so much scared

I've still yet to play WotC- after installing it I did the opening mission (which is the same as vanilla aside from the cutscene, iirc) and haven't been back to it since. Mostly that's been because I'm on a Civ 6 kick, but I'm definitely a bit hesitant now to sink any time into it, knowing I might not be able to finish. I honestly wish I had done my research before buying it, I don't think I would have if I knew the technical issues were anywhere near this serious. Such a damn shame, Xcom and Xcom 2 are such great games that more content is always welcome.. but if you can't actually play it, then its pretty much worthless. Any idea why they never fixed any of this?

I just finished it and yeah, swamp cemetery (chap V, second swamp map) is a pita... U dont see around (tall herbs) and fucking entrances have each a fucking corridor to find by turning around the whole map sometimes. At least that chapter in the swamp is pretty fast and and doesnt include too much wandering around.
In the end really a cool game for the universe, visuals and sound, good chars mostly, but the story, which i guess is pretty solid in the books, is made a bit dull (kill the bad guy for... reasons). Some quests are stupidly presented, especially the epilogue, but the adrenaline and very nice enemies made it very enjoyable. WTF though, with situations looking absolutely helpless in those closing boss fights while ending without too much blood lost, just a LOT of SWEAT (both out of hard work and fear). I m pretty sure those bosses did little to no damage in practice, just a lot of noise and a very frightening aura whatever their size. Works well, but looking back, looks like they sucked hairy asses. I guess if i had been killed, i would have been pissed instead of disappointed. I think i only died once, and it was drinking a healing potion (no idea u could die when the toxicity bar reach 100%.)

Congrats for winning the battles! I played W1+2 on casual, because I was to lazy to master the combat system and just wanted the story. Liked most of the characters, although creepy Triss and bitchy Shani were disappointing. I love the romance stuff, so I am a hard judge there. Like always I tried to fuck everything and maybe unlock some hidden achievement. Probably got only nasty STDs for Geralt.
I don't remember finding the story bad. It was kind of a lot to do, so I had no time thinking about it. Also I absolutly fell in love with Thaler. He saved the whole game for me. Especially, when the fucking old lady, where Shani lives, doesn't let you in.

well it s pretty easy after the first few non trivial foes, and once i undestood how to build up (lol, waited the second chapter to find out u need the fireplace and medidation for that ). As playing the story is so long, i needed a appearance of challenge in the fights. Though i now regret not having jump in the hard mode (maybe just for a few hours)

tell me what s creepy with triss ? it s subtitled at some points but my radar wasnt giving me something not to discard. Exept that mirror discussion with another witch where she tells she ll manipulate you maybe.

same here, more important that hunting a stupid sword . Only one has cool visuals/sounds though, and it s one of the first with the inn witress, so i had expectations for the others ...

yeah, in the heat of the quests, u dont question the plot lines too much, that what s make the game greatly addictive. But when u take a break and thinks a moment about it, it s just pursuing some vague bad guy that stole your toys (i have mostly no idea what he stole btw, at least before the epilogue) for 5 fucking long chapters
Also I absolutly fell in love with Thaler. He saved the whole game for me. Especially, when the fucking old lady, where Shani lives, doesn't let you in.
lol, yeah, that lady was top notch, i loved it. No idea thaler would help with her. (i just kept trying until it worked) I kinda remember nice dialogs with him, but not that much, and i think the order i played chap II made those a bit inappropriate. and shani flirting with him ??? i guess he s that attrative then
EDIT : played "the price of neutrality" DLC and it was actually very well written !!! nice stuff. Did it on hard, but it took many death and grinding for a few kikimores/archespore

installed second opus (witcher), far sooner than planned
Intro quite cool (nice trissass) while pissing off with new (NON MODDABLE !!!) Keybinding, and Geralt look like shit, i feel like i bought and installed a console in my laptop with the game.
and that stupid training tells me i should play easy !!! Well i will not listen, i m hurt and ill go boldly into hard normal mode
layed "the price of neutrality" DLC and it was actually very well written !!! nice stuff. Did it on hard, but it took many death and grinding for a few kikimores/archespore
Quoted for emphasis, this was the best quest by far, redid it for sex, still failed one of two scores, but it has it all + a better writting in all aspect.

could be indeed, cool, but it s ugly !! (well, cutscenes are great except for Geralt). But i sure hope i ll get used to it and change perception
Whaaaaaat?! W2 Geralt was awesome. Didnt you cut his hair? I super enjoyed that game. The sneaking through the camp part was a lot of fun. I like that. Even in GTA5 sneaking ismy favorite thing. Mebi thats why I am myself such a good stalker.

i got used to it, still thinks geralt sucks a bit animation wise, feels far sloppier, and has a ugly face+hair ! But yeah, nowthat i got a haircut, it s far better !! (and that tatoo, man, i m geralt, i dont get stone drunk faster than stupid blue stripes )
Game is really cool and while i still have some beefs with the story, it s another level ! BUT, it s really difficult to keep track of all intel, and i miss part of it cause either my english sucks, or their english suck, or subtitles suck.
I just started chap III, it was a bit of a PITA to get arrested (fuck sewer alternative), i still love my triss though she sucked a bit
I hope i didnt miss too many opportunities, but it s like one per chapter ... pfff.
Some enourmous dialogue lines like " my favourite magic, lesbomancy"
Bosses are far better (impressive+stylish) than in TW1
I have tons of question, maybe i ll bother you burningcherry , because if i wander the wikia, i ll end up spoiled, as i allready was with that prick stennis in chap II, or read the book
edit: i dealt with chap III quite fast, the story is relatively useless in chap III, most of the stuff is already resolved, but still, nice place, one cool side quest with the black witch u can fuck. the final beast rather sucks though, especially compared to the karyan and the specter/draugh.

Weeell, it's been some time since I posted stuff, and Balbock and I have been neglecting the galaxy a bit lately to venture into some other games So I'm just posting about what we are up to these days So like I said in the past couple weeks we played some other games, shocking, I know!
We played the Rusty Lake series, all the ones that are available on Steam right now. I love it! It's a really great series, has interesting and not too easy puzzles (in a few cases a bit too over the top though to the point that even after seeing the solution I don't get them), plenty of WTF moments, wacky characters, and a really bizarre, yet oddly charming art style.
When Bai was at my place last time, we played a couple PS4 games together, Abzû, Brothers and A Plague Tale. And we played Bastion and Transistor on his laptop. Well... he was playing Transistor, and I watched I didn't know these two games before and neither A Plague Tale. All 3 were really great games story-wise and fun to play. And your Mustard race member is actually very good with a controller Maybe I can convince him to play some more ME3MP with a controller
We then started the Enhanced Edition of Divinity Original Sin a couple weeks ago and it's a lot of fun playing co-op, and having turn-based combat! I love it It's a pretty great game with dialogues that make us both laugh at times. Some occasional swearing occurs from both sides, but mainly me, because the game sometimes can be mean and full of BS
And I even played a game for myself again! I neglected The Last Of Us 2 for around a month, and even managed to stay spoiler free. But by now I finished it and I'm playing the first (Remastered) game again now. I still adore the first game, even though the combat feels weird after the amazing smooth combat experience in TLOU2. Too bad that the second part was all WOW on the outside, but kinda Meh on the inside in large parts.
[...] And your Mustard race member is actually very good with a controller [...]
Wait what??? NO! Lie, that is a lie You had to play whenenver my fighting with the controller led to us being stuck. You are far better with such a thing
Thank you for the fun and the games and for the compliment aswell

Gotta agree. The first game remains one of my absolute favourites ever, regardless of the slightly clunky mechanics. I think I've played it at least seven times. The sequel is the second time I've been burned by a digital pre-order which I'll never play through more than once (ME:A being the other). TLOU2 is a technical masterpiece but an absolute mess in narrative terms, and after a period of reflection it's a thoroughly miserable, depressing, brutal experience. I can't imagine any sane person wanting to put themselves through it a second time.
