Been sucked into Total War: Warhammer 2 for the past few months. It's pretty much everything my 14 year old self playing Table Top and my 20 year old self playing Medieval 2 could want.
It's probably going to set my laptop on fire one of these days but until then, Cheese for the Cheese God.
Doesn't scratch that itch for real time action though, ergo I fired up ME3MP again.

And I even played a game for myself again! I neglected The Last Of Us 2 for around a month, and even managed to stay spoiler free. But by now I finished it and I'm playing the first (Remastered) game again now. I still adore the first game, even though the combat feels weird after the amazing smooth combat experience in TLOU2. Too bad that the second part was all WOW on the outside, but kinda Meh on the inside in large parts. Gotta agree. The first game remains one of my absolute favourites ever, regardless of the slightly clunky mechanics. I think I've played it at least seven times. The sequel is the second time I've been burned by a digital pre-order which I'll never play through more than once (ME:A being the other). TLOU2 is a technical masterpiece but an absolute mess in narrative terms, and after a period of reflection it's a thoroughly miserable, depressing, brutal experience. I can't imagine any sane person wanting to put themselves through it a second time. I really need to play the first one. I've been meaning to get/play it for quite some time, but always end up putting it off. I've even managed to stay clear of spoilers somehow. I assume its advisable to play the original before bothering with the sequel?

I assume its advisable to play the original before bothering with the sequel?Absolutely. 100%. I couldn't recommend it more highly. Just a good story with some really great voice acting. The remastered version is definitely the one to go for, partly as it includes an interesting dlc package, but mainly just because it's a lot smoother. On a different note, as I've said previously, I have every Assassin's Creed game but have only ever finished ACII. With all the others I seem to play for a couple of hours and then leave it, convinced I'll come back and carry on soon. And then never do. But I started Odyssey the other day (playing as Kassandra) and I think this might be the one to drag me back in properly. I know it's massive and likely to feel very repetitive after a while, but it looks gorgeous, I like the setting and mechanics and I can see myself having quite an enjoyable time.

Finished TW2 on hard mode on both path in july. I m a bit disapointed in the end even if the game rocks. Chap III is quite empty, and really lacks stuff in the blue stripes path imo. I wonder why the added mission with the black sorceress mage (is there a difference?) cynthia (i think). Ah, forgot that stuff with the temerian lords fighting for being the best traitors . Cool stuff. But no sex !!!!!!!!!! All in all, a cool game where choice matter a bit more than in ME afair, but not that much in the end. THe fact you have mostly 2 different games from chap II made the big story smaller, but adds a nice variety. And was a risky choice i guess, with completionists fanbase ?

That's right, chIII feels somewhat unfinished. There are 16 ending variations IIRC but most players didn't realize there are different options and having heard that, CDPR went much more linear in W3.

I see 2 big ones in both path, and, well cant remember that much

The events are: killing or not Arjan, siding with Roche or Iorweth, saving or not Henselt/Stennis and saving Triss or Anais/Saskia. wiedzmin.fandom.com/wiki/Wied%C5%BAmin_2:_Zako%C5%84czeniawww.gog.com/forum/the_witcher_2/i_got_the_16_endings_right/page1

I can't imagine any sane person wanting to put themselves through it a second time.
I played the first game maybe 4 times, but it's definitely an all-time favourite, still gets me super emotional about various things And I'm planning to play it with Balbock someday as well, muahaha. More controller playing for him...
I actually started replaying TLOU2. To see if somehow I can like it more after the first shock was digested Because I really wanted to like it... But it's as you say: it's a technical masterpiece, the details are INSANE, but it really is such a mess in narrative terms. I actually hated to play the second part of that game, it was so out of place and mind-boggling why they chose to do the story like that. It just didn't work for me at all. I know what they wanted to achieve, but it was done so poorly. I guess you know what I'm talking about, but I won't spoil it here
I agree about it being a brutal and depressing experience. I guess they really wanna show how this world with no order and laws is. And the price for revenge. On a side note, I at least actually liked the ending. But overall, yeah, still a very disappointing experience.

On a side note, I at least actually liked the ending. So did I, to be fair. And I agree on your take regarding the rest of it - I also started a second playthrough, but just couldn't motivate myself to carry on. I will add that one of the flashbacks (no spoilers as such but the one featuring the analogue audio tape) is without doubt one of the greatest scenes I've ever played or witnessed in a game, and the overall experience is worth going through once just to experience that.

[...] And I'm planning to play it with Balbock someday as well, muahaha. More controller playing for him... [...] Not going to happen!!! Well at least not before we finish Horizon Zero Dawn It is good and fun. Especially because fraggle offered to take over the controller as soon as a spear charge into a crowd of machines doesn't cut it anymore or any other finer controls are needed. It will happen... At some point... Probably... Maybe For now she enjoys watching (Kinda wonder how much easier it is on PC...)Anyway we finished Divinity Original Sin and we had a great time with it. We will get Divinity Original Sin 2 at some point. Also: Happy N7 Day with Pizza

I'm quite enjoying it.
It's not as good as hyped (no surprises there).
It's also buggy as hell.

Pretty late with this one...but i just finished "Nier Automata".....i thought it was going to be some mindless hack and slash,..but it was quite enjoyable.....the battles and your weapons feel like they have some respectable weight to them when engaging the enemies....story wasn't that great tho....i thought they could have fleshed out the story a bit more to find out what actually happened to the human society and where they are,....but i have a somewhat idea of what actually happened to them, but i'm not sure. Now outside of that?...the main character 2B?....uhm...yeah,.....she animates amazingly well....and while she may be an android......i'd hit it...... 78.media.tumblr.com/66b82a1ffc92e1cdd7f0a892916ac6c3/tumblr_on9fgyT9aB1tyak95o1_r1_400.gif

I hope you didn't just see Ending A, because the game is far from finished there Obviously, the first Nier is not pretty in terms of graphic, but the story is really really awesome.

Obviously, the first Nier is not pretty in terms of graphic, but the story is really really awesome. If the story is great or combat is fun that the graphics can be overlooked: see ME1 or Gears of War 1 on 360. I actuall just found my OG Xbox at my parent's house and my son was pumped, which makes me happy because I have a ton of good games for it: Halo CE & 2, GTA 3 and Vice City and Amped 2 come to mind...I wonder if they're backward compatible for download on the 360? That OG Xbox controller was great though, I loved that fattie

Haha...yeah...i think i just got Ending A....it's hard for me to play a game back to back......once i finish a game, i like to let it marinate for about a good 6 months to a year before i go back to it...keeps it feeling fresh....but yeah i thought it was a wee bit short, but like you stated, i read that the game has a few endings other than the one i experienced......some of those boss battles tho?.... ....Fighting huge bosses shooting those purple projectiles AND fighting smaller enemies shooting and attacking you?.... ......some of those was extremely annoying.... ....still a great game tho...and i'll try to check out the original Nier...probably just watch a walkthrough on youtube.....
