You should definitely play (or watch) the first Nier, the backstory is in there and it's (imo) even better than Automata, though I love both very much. I hope you didn't just see Ending A, because the game is far from finished there Obviously, the first Nier is not pretty in terms of graphic, but the story is really really awesome. Haha...yeah...i think i just got Ending A....it's hard for me to play a game back to back......once i finish a game, i like to let it marinate for about a good 6 months to a year before i go back to it...keeps it feeling fresh....but yeah i thought it was a wee bit short, but like you stated, i read that the game has a few endings other than the one i experienced......some of those boss battles tho?.... ....Fighting huge bosses shooting those purple projectiles AND fighting smaller enemies shooting and attacking you?.... ......some of those was extremely annoying.... ....still a great game tho...and i'll try to check out the original Nier...probably just watch a walkthrough on youtube..... Ooooh, you definitely should play it again. The beauty in the Nier games are that after ending A, you actually know nothing You will discover new things in the "next" playthrough, and in the end everything will be revealed, while it's never boring either. You will see some things from different perspectives, and the combat is just so much fun, especially in Automata, because you will learn new things when you progress. Ending A is just a very small part, things are much more interesting after that. I spent about 70-80 hrs in both games, ending up doing everything because it's one of the most astonishing game series I've ever played. Nier is a really dark and fucked up series somehow, but it's rewarding and fresh imo. Not everyone likes such games though. If you end up watching the first Nier, make sure to watch it AAAAALL

Don't you need to play Drakengard first? Imo no need to. Nier is based on Ending E of Drakengard, which is just a short sequence anyway. But in Nier you will not miss out, because it is also mentioned what happened in the past in one of the texts in the game. It was nice to watch a playthrough of Drakengard (I gave up on the clunky controls after playing it a while myself), but you don't need to play it in order to understand Nier.

I really need to get on playing both Nier games. I have both and haven't gotten to them yet. I might be one of five human males that isn't enamored by some 2B though.
However, I've been playing more of these action games with stamina bars. Stuff like Dark Souls, both Niohs, Code Vein, etc. I decided to try out Sekiro Shadows Die Twice. Strangely it has no stamina bar and your character doesn't follow all the rules of these type of games (almost no fall damage and can sprint and attack forever) I initially liked the game, then I started hating it. Unlike the aforementioned games, Sekiro is very limited in how you can play. It wants you to play a very specific way. Its very defensive and parry oriented, especially against bosses. I tempered my expectations and returned to it and its starting to grow on me. Until crap like this happens.
I'm still playing it and I think I'll beat it, but what?

Got Vermintide 2 after some of the gang from Total War: Warhammer 2 suggested and streamed it. It's pretty fun multiplayer.

I'll admit I haven't played ME3MP for a couple months now. Because of some stupid EA account issue, which has apparently happened to other people but i'm lazy and forgotten about it and i'm almost tempted to just go on the long grind under a different alias and start all over On topic though in classic weeb fashion I've been playing Genshin Impact, would not recommend if anyone isn't into gacha games. I recently finished the Ni no Kuni jet black mage (english patch) on my DS a few days ago very fun game.

Seems like Anthem's been grabbed by the Banshees. It's kinda funny but I'm actually thinking of throwing 10 bucks or whatever at a copy this weekend to see if it's any fun. It had fallen off my radar for a while and I didn't realize it was so cheap these days.

I got Anthem about a year ago for $5 (XBOX). So even if a bomb, no big deal. But by that time, they had pretty much cleaned up the bugs and major issues. The flying is great, as is the combo system. Gearing works fine for a while. I wish they allowed solo play, especially in the strongholds. They pretty much force group matching on you, but in open world it usually means you join 3 other randos each doing there own thing on the largish map and you ignore each other for the most part. For a newbie, there's plenty to do for maybe 100 hrs of play. The campaign is ... okay. Your character is a dud, but some of the lesser NPC's are quite amusing.
So, definitely recommend as a cheap pick-up & play through.

I started playing New Vegas again and I forgot how damn good that game really is. I can't wait to play me some DLC. It's crazy they made the game in 18 months (it can a bit buggy, but hey New Vegas gonna New Vegas so save often) and Cyberpunk had 5-8 years. There's an itch to play some MP, but I'm not good at multitasking

Just finished "Little Nightmares 2".....creepy atmosphere and great art design.....i played the first one which was great and this one seems to be set up as a prequel......some parts was incredibly frustrating at times, but i enjoyed it....the journey of Mono and Six was a thrilling and disturbing one, but i was a little upset at the ending....but i kinda understood why.....still felt it could have been a wee bit better, but the overall experience was good....

I don't know if you've actually played any of them yet, but HuniePop is actually quite amusing and good, as far as 3inaRow go. Most of the girls are actually cute and funny and hot, except for that one MILF, she's annoying as fuck. And the art you get for milestones is hot as well...

Really enjoyed the first game but haven't got round to playing the second yet, some of the mods though are hilarious (the pixar one in particular). I'm currently doing my first playthrough of wasteland 3, really enjoying the game so far, just reached a settlement that worships a robot version of Ronald Reagan.

LOL really? Not a great start but oh well. Edit: I ran into some enemies, tried to esc/pause to edit mouse sensitivity, and the enemies kept attacking me while I was in the menus. Everything's set up so weird. It's still early days but it really feels like they had an internal conversation that went more or less like, "Hey, you know Destiny? Let's try to take our thing and try to make it into that thing."

Edit: I ran into some enemies, tried to esc/pause to edit mouse sensitivity, and the enemies kept attacking me while I was in the menus. IDon'tKnowWhatIExpected.gif Edit 2: At least my not-Avenger is deadly on full-auto Hmm, I guess server timeout would be a problem. Yes, the game is aggressive with timeout kicking. Almost as if they knew the limitations of their server coding
And wouldn't same happen in, say, ME3 MP (the getting attacked part)?
But to be serious: You can do keybind settings from the Fort. Or if you want to tune in-game, I suggest starting one of the campaign missions solo, then doing it from there. In fact, I suggest playing the entire campaign solo. Playing with a group there is much faster, but would be frustrating for a new player.
IMO, the actual gameplay is terrific. The story is ... okay (not great, not awful). Your character is a bit of a dud, but some of the NPC's are actually entertaining. They solved most of the games early issues, so most of the complaints (err, reviews) you read are outdated and don't apply. Where it falls down, IMO, is the poor structuring of the grind that is end-game. And you'll find that the variety of missions/javelins/enemies/maps is more limited such that you likely won't be hooked ala ME3 MP.

Anyone into online chess? What kind of time control do you prefer? Tried 10 min two times but I feel like 30 min would be better for me. Played against bots with no control for some time, for context.

Yeah, I got my keybinds all set up once I was in the fort thingy, but as far as I could tell, there was no way to set them up ahead of time before starting the intro mission. Seemed like a weird design choice to me.
