Not really fair to compare a full game against a bolted on multiplayer which was more of an afterthought (it certainly didn't have the production time of Anthem and I doubt anyone bought ME3 when it first came out just for the multiplayer) Which only makes ME3 look better in comparison. But maybe ME3 was more a case of catching lightning in a bottle. The same team wasn't able to repeat the feat (IMO) with Andromeda's MP.

Sometimes I challenge myself and I wish I could set the strongholds to private as to reliably be able to play them solo and thus speedrun them. For every stronghold solo I have on my Youtube channel there are probably 10-20 or so runs that ended in someone joining the game via quickplay while I was recording. YES!! And in freeplay as well (though there, your 3 other participants usually reliably ignore each other). And isn't this also the case for "Legendary Missions"?
The Anthem team's insistence on mandatory co-op down was hugely tone-deaf and arrogant (IMO). Also see: the "Tombs of the Legionnaires" sequence.
XCPTNL: since I mentioned MEA MP in my last post, and your preference for speedy action, wondering if you did play that one, and your thoughts. Seems like it might be more your speed (pun not intended) vs. ME3's.

The same team wasn't able to repeat the feat (IMO) with Andromeda's MP. ME3MP wasn't done by Bioware though but by Psyonix. They did a lot of contract work in the past before they started working on Rocket League. XCPTNL: since I mentioned MEA MP in my last post, and your preference for speedy action, wondering if you did play that one, and your thoughts. Seems like it might be more your speed (pun not intended) vs. ME3's. I played it for around 100 hours before I gave up and had EA support remove the damn whole game from my account. The gameplay felt so weird and I never really enjoyed SP or MP. On top of that they added these weird variants of ultra-rare weapons instead of bringing back some classic weapons (*cough* Claymore *cough*) and other races that were dearly missed. The whole game was just such a piece of shit in my opinion.

Anyone play Gris before? About a week ago I got a new phone, a wireless controller, and a charging dock with video out, and I've been enjoying some casual couch gaming that way. I just finished Gris over the last few days, and I really enjoyed it. I really like the blend of slow paced storytelling, amazing visuals, technical difficulty, and mental challenge. It's on Steam and mobile, but the mobile version is only about a third of the price of the Steam version.

I started playing Dark Souls again after about a year of not playing it. I thought I was going to have more trouble remembering how to play and I'm surprised with how well I've been doing.

I suck at this game. Actually pretty fun so far despite not having actually drawn anything yet. Learning Krita with a cheap huion 1060p. Haven't done anything beyond get Krita set up roughly and am experimenting with layers and selections. Watched a few different videos and think I found a decent tutorial series on YT.

Haven't finished yet? Gotta be faster.Start playing ME3 on PC,i need someone to carry me. Well, I'm currently stuck on Manus and a term paper so it could be a while I haven't picked up the git gud so I'm still slow. Dark Souls is one of my "once a year" games. Along with Fallout New Vegas and Resident Evil 2 (PS1) It's been about a year since I played it, but it's been a lot of fun and frustrating. Mm New Vegas is one of my all-time favorite games and the first rpg I ever played. I was a first/third person shooter player up to that point and I had no idea what the game was until I got it and started playing and ended up loving the crap out of it and doing a bunch of playthroughs.

New Vegas is a typical example of how a smaller, but more talented studio can make a better game than the "mothership" and get f****d up in the process. I still haven't forgiven Bethesda for their cheapness in this story... That being said I still love the two originals more than anything that comes after...

[New Vegas]: hmmm, maybe I'll give it a go. I always thought of it just as a spinoff of Fallout 3, which I loved. Enough that I bought the expansions, but then tired of soon thereafter. So I never felt the desire to follow up with Fallout:NV.
And probably an unpopular opinion: At the time,I had a low opinion of Obsidian after their KOTOR2. The real unpopular part: I thought KOTOR2 was crap. Oh, I loved the first half, maybe 2/3. Even at that point, I hated the early bugginess, the convoluted dialog chains, the repetitious back and forth in same areas with their interminable loads. Still, up to that point, it was a 9/10. But the last third, was a ZERO in my book. Absolutely horrid and inexcusable. So I was (and still am a bit) jaded against Obsidian.
Still, I read so much love for Fallout:NV, that I might eventually give it that run.

I still haven't forgiven Bethesda for their cheapness in this story... IIRC Obsidian was basically the same studio that made Fallout 1 and 2 and that's why, from what I've read/seen, F:NV is more akin to those than 3. It's a shame Bethesda didn't let Obsidian delay and give us an even better game. They made that damn game in 18 months. [New Vegas]: hmmm, maybe I'll give it a go. I always thought of it just as a spinoff of Fallout 3, which I loved. Enough that I bought the expansions, but then tired of soon thereafter. So I never felt the desire to follow up with Fallout:NV. I can be a buggy at times and the movement and combat feel dated, but the story is great and the world is massive. The DLC's are awesome [Honest Hearts is probably my least favorite because of all the back and forth]. There are many people who view it as better than 3 because of a deeper, more non-linear story as the mechanics are basically the same, but I've never playe 3 so I can't comment.

It basically didn't have a last third of the game. The racing sim mini-game just bugged out and stopped working because they didn't finish it either.
I actually called Obsidian out on bookface years and years ago when they were advertising a new game. Their response was basically, "blame the publishers christmas deadline not the devs."
I've heard modders tackled the last bit and now it's a functioning game but I'm also wary about Obsidian since.

Dark Souls remastered: After playing Niohs, Code Vein, Bloodborne and Sekiro, I finally play DS1. It's much more sluggish than the others but I still like it. I really hate skeleton warriors though. Level design is great as are enemy designs.
Fatal Twelve: Anime looking visual novels aren't my thing, but this looked interesting. So far, I'm not feeling it. It is a bit cheesy and cliched. The biggest issue? From what I have played, the game is borderline racist.
Or at the very least prejudiced toward the Japanese characters. The Japanese characters (or anyone who loves Japan a lot) are far more noble, pure hearted, and have morals. While all the foreigners (from China, India, Italy, and France) are all morally dubious or just flat out bad people. I don't want to jump to conclusions just yet. But even if the foreign characters get better, they still started off as bad people.

I may be slow, but I think you could easily dump 50 hours into it in one playthrough as there's a ton to explore plus there's DLC if you want to play that. It just starts a bit slow.

I downloaded 1 and 2. Omg first 10 min on 1 was horrible . The mouse disappear for 10 sec every move. Then a waiting clock runs for another 15 secs. I have since read a starter guide but if it s full of waiting times I ll pass I don't mind ugly graphics and odd controls, but lost minutes...

The Classic fallouts are games I WANT to enjoy, but I just can't get my head around the mechanics and everything just feels tedious to me Feel like this with a lot of classics with turn based combat and that distinct old-game-jank.

Are they 50 Hrs game or fear less ? I've sunk about 150 hours in FO3 and about double that into FONV with multiple playthroughs role-playing as a rogue, brute, brotherhood commando, mad scientist, and maybe somebody else. Not sure who it were, since it was 9-10 years ago. The outcome has been considerably different in terms of completion and enjoyment. Some quality of life and graphic improvement mods are highly recommended. Before that, I have not played FO1 or 2 and had no particular issues with the story, lore or overall mechanics. The games, similar to FO4, can be played as long as you feel OK with that. Some survival runs of FONV can be quite lengthy especially if you don't steal.

... I actually called Obsidian out on bookface years and years ago. Obsidian is hit-and-miss for me. But if it is a hit, it hits really hard. I've played the crap out of NWN2 (except Mysteries of Westgate which I hated), FONW, both Pillars, and especially Tyranny. All the rest have been skipped due to the lack of general interest. I do plan to try out Outer Worlds at some point when it goes really cheap on sale with all DLCs.
