I caved to the current Steam sale. Six games from my wish list to add to the pile of stuff I'll most likely ignore while playing Warframe and ME3MP. Edit: Good deal though!

... I actually called Obsidian out on bookface years and years ago. Obsidian is hit-and-miss for me. But if it is a hit, it hits really hard. I've played the crap out of NWN2 (except Mysteries of Westgate which I hated), FONW, both Pillars, and especially Tyranny. All the rest have been skipped due to the lack of general interest. I do plan to try out Outer Worlds at some point when it goes really cheap on sale with all DLCs. The Outer Worlds was kinda meh. Like ok on a first playthrough but not much replay ability in terms of build variety. Like no matter which weapon type you use, you're going to pick the same perks every level. Also the "side with villain faction" playthrough seemed very undercooked and lacking in content.

Vanquish is not bad, combat is good but the story and characters is a little cheesy. Journey is really good though, easily one of those games you can pick up for 30 mins-1 hour and just relax. I bit the bullet and bought Gary's mod. Already bought the half life collection previously and I liked the idea of the ability to play so many games in 1 package. So far though the games I have tried to play have been extremely laggy and I'm getting horrifc frame rates (was getting 11 FPS in TTT game mode). Also pugging isn't quite as fun as I had hoped.

The Classic fallouts are games I WANT to enjoy, but I just can't get my head around the mechanics and everything just feels tedious to me Feel like this with a lot of classics with turn based combat and that distinct old-game-jank. Play the wasteland series (in particular 3) I believe those devs made the original fallout games and effectively continued on with Wasteland. It a turn-based isometric RPG with a modern touch. Really good game

I downloaded 1 and 2. Omg first 10 min on 1 was horrible . The mouse disappear for 10 sec every move. Then a waiting clock runs for another 15 secs. I have since read a starter guide but if it s full of waiting times I ll pass I don't mind ugly graphics and odd controls, but lost minutes... That is very strange, Al. I've never had any problems with the games (am using the Steam version). IMO it's probably due to your computer's interaction with DosBox and (unless you're planning to play other DOS games) I don't think it's worth it for you to learn how to fine-tune it .
P.S. So either FO3 or FONV. I loved NV and I liked FO3...

A fun Havoc trick is to dash mid-hover to change direction and/or cover more ground. It works with other kits too but the Havoc gets a lot more mileage out of this mechanic.

Was once again reminded that I shouldn't judge a book by its cover.
***
Periodically I'll look at this thread. (Gaming Giveaway Awareness topic here on BSN.) Looked at it Friday. (IIRC) Saw a couple games that didn't really look like something I'd be interested in. "Crime Cities" and "Dead by Daylight". Meh. I'm a fantasy/sci-fi guy for the most part, neither sound intriguing. So later that day I wound up watching a Youtube vid of Davaeorn, a very good Baldur's Gate player. He had a link to his Twitch stream, so I figure what the hell and see if he's streaming. Turns out he is, and he's streaming... Dead by Daylight. (At this point I didn't connect the two.) If you're not familiar with the game (like I was) it's based off of Horror movies. 5 people play, 1 Killer, and 4 coop Survivors. It's a lot like Left4Dead had a baby with Vermintide II. (Maybe same Devs as L4D? Haven't checked.) The streamer I was watching was trying Killer. And damn, the gameplay for Killer is, killer. I got hooked. I love hunting in games. Like my feral druid prowling around in WoW PvP, or playing the fast Alien in AvP(Runners?) and hunting someone from the roof/vents with wall-walk. In fact, it looks so interesting I check Steam to see if it's on sale. Turns out it is, 'round half off. I contemplate buying it... I continue to watch the stream, as it nears its end someone mentions, "hey, it's free on Epic right now!" Then it clicks. Hurrdurr, Dalakaar's a dumbass. So I just about spent $10 on a game I just got for free.
That said, I still haven't fired the game up. Instead I've spent all weekend watching various streams, mostly of Killers. There are some damn good ones too, really fun and vaguely satisfying to watch.
PS: (I don't care about/hate Epic enough to spend money on Steam I don't need to spend.)

muahmuah what are your thoughts on what we've seen from Elden Ring so far? I've seen a few gameplay videos from Vaatividya and FightinCowboy and the trailer and it looks so fluid and is visually appealing. I've finally beat Dark Souls after 93 hours I'm going to try for the platinum trophy, but messing up in my first playthrough I'll have to go to NG+4 lol. I guess that means I should at least try DS2 or 3 before Elden Ring releases. I'll reserve my hype though after Cyberpunk and Halo Infinite being hot messes on release. I guess the problem is then do I get it for my laptop or my Xbone and I'm leaning toward the latter because that's just easier for me at this point.

That's a lot.My first playthrough took around 60 hours.Plat requires some more hours,so boldly go . As for the Elden Ring,i expect just another great game from FROM software. The only developer which has never disappointed me.They don't have a single bad game. The only concern that i have is the open world thingy.IMO it doesn't fit here and I don't understand why every new AAA game should have an open world.A friend of mine played the beta (he is a mad fan of souls-born games like me) and he said that you can avoid the enemies, which is meh IMO.There is also stealth approach like in Sekiro. The horse seems interesting. It will have a big role in the game.I just hope that the game won't turn into some mainstream stuff, but like i said,i believe in Hidetaka Miyazaki. Also i recommend you to start Dark Souls 3.Skip the second part. It's just not at DS1 and DS3 level, because the mentioned chap(Miyazaki) wasn't director of this game(he was busy working on another project back then). It's not a bad game, but nowhere near as good as 1 and 3.

Yeah I spent a lot of time farming toward the end and getting everything set up for NG+, probably a lot more than I should have. I'll check out DS3 then, I do remember now you recommending it over DS2.

A game I've recently finished was Kena: Bridge of spirits. Short game but definitely enjoyed it nonetheless.
I've heard this game was pretty tough, so I wanted to see for myself if it was actually true, and also because I haven't played a non weeabo anime game in a long while.
Not gonna lie I got my ass whooped in that game, but it wasn't too bad a lot of it was just trial and error. When I can, I eventually would like to put in however many hours just to be good at that game, and complete it on the hardest difficult for the hell of it.

I have DLed Fallout New vegas, will see if i install it and erased fallout1, cause vegas seems a better choice. But that s not why i m here. Kids are reaching 5 and 7, and almost never played anything but the aunt tablet. We have done one session on stupid kids webgames for learning to use the mouse. I guess that was not bad, but not really fun nor feeling the progress (maybe normal) Would u guys/gals have something to recomand as a way of starting to use mouse for kids ? Thx !

The same team wasn't able to repeat the feat (IMO) with Andromeda's MP. ME3MP wasn't done by Bioware though but by Psyonix. They did a lot of contract work in the past before they started working on Rocket League. XCPTNL: since I mentioned MEA MP in my last post, and your preference for speedy action, wondering if you did play that one, and your thoughts. Seems like it might be more your speed (pun not intended) vs. ME3's. I played it for around 100 hours before I gave up and had EA support remove the damn whole game from my account. The gameplay felt so weird and I never really enjoyed SP or MP. On top of that they added these weird variants of ultra-rare weapons instead of bringing back some classic weapons (*cough* Claymore *cough*) and other races that were dearly missed. The whole game was just such a piece of shit in my opinion. Syphon variant was genius. Adds for more aggressive gameplay with a weapon like Syphon PAW (pinpoint lazer beam AR). Because increasing the shooting at enemies replenishes your health, adding to the best offense is a great defense. A great dynamic to fast paced gameplay that encourages aggressiveness.

Freddy fish series Putt-putt series Rayman (more advanced) Civilization 3 if they like it after 7 years of age.

I started my Dark Souls 3 playthrough and I'm going to try to do it blind, unlike what I did for DS1. Things I've notices so far: enemies are far more aggressive, punishing, and have a decent health bar, estus is hard to come by, I have no real idea what I'm doing but fast roll ftw , the Claymore is still awesome, and I have no git gud. It's fun in the early game seeing things that sort of parallel DS1 like the Tower Wyvern guarding a Claymore much like the Hellkite Drake did in DS1. I have DLed Fallout New vegas, will see if i install it and erased fallout1, cause vegas seems a better choice. But that s not why i m here. I hope you enjoy it man it's one of my favorite games even though it starts really slow. I'm still finding things I missed in several playthroughs and hopefully you've added the DLCs, but if you're going to pick I'd add Gun Runners Arsenal (just added weapons and gun mods and stuff), Old World Blues, and Lonesome Road.

When getting ready for The Witcher Season 2, I thought about finally giving "Witcher 3:Wild Hunt" a try. But then I considered starting with Witcher 1. About to start that, I realized it takes place after the books (which I also started) ... so I'm back to Anthem, LOL (and reading the Witcher books in order)
So, as far as the Witcher games are concerned: If/when I get around to them, do you all recommend starting with W1, or jump right to W3?

Very appreciated as lately, I'm more into story & character than the pure challenge of the "gameplay". I'll still put it as my plan, though might be a long while before I get around to it as I have 5 novels to read first

I tried getting back into playing some Outriders to check out the latest patch and content update but somehow I didn't really enjoy it. It's a weird game... sometimes I really enjoy the gameplay and then I don't. Expeditions feel so weirdly balanced. Or rather imbalanced. Would be nice to haven an option for something like a New Game+ that allows me to play through the campaign again but all enemies are now at level 50 or something like that.
