I've always wanted to say that at dinner as I reach across the table for more mashed potatoes

I would like to go to this dinner with you and say, as you reach for the mashed potatoes: God help you if you touch those potatoes.

In the gold and (eventual) platinum matches (over time) and in nonpug matches.

IMHO, the reason we are used to teamwork, at least to basic, self-interest level, was that over time ME3 weeded out people who didn't pitch at the higher difficulties and you leveled up enough to make it irrelevant on the lower ones. After someone spents eight or nine waves on the ground because they won't stay with the group or they repeated fail the mission for not helping with an objective, they either learn to participate or they drop down to a difficulty where they are irrelevant to the team.

Since everyone is starting out from scratch again, teamwork, and lack there of, has a much greater impact at lower levels. Add to that many, many new or unfamiliar people learning the new setup and problem seems that much worse.

Once we unlock more and better equipment and start playing the higher difficulties more competently, we'll see the same pattern start to shake out, though I expect this to take several months, if not a year. Until then, start filling up your friends list with competent people and see if you can coux a few people out of your backpack and into a contributing member of the team.

Of course, that would require actually listening and talking to pugs. Scratch that. Fill up your list with people from the LFG thread and never leave the lobby without at least one forum buddy. Yeah, that actually sounds more reasonable to me. Off to go spam friend invites on Xbox to everyone in that thread.

Working as intended, cooperation is for losers. Off to lone-wolfing in MP!

There are still combos, as well as abilities like the Sentinel's Fortification that drops down cover which can provide benefits for people hiding behind it. Provided the game gets DLC support, that's where many of the more teamwork oriented characters got added in ME3 MP as well

However right now we're all just starting fresh again. Most of our characters are under-leveled and our guns are level 1-3, and we're wanting to play with the new toys.

Another issue is that players are not familiar with the maps yet. So either everyone runs around like a headless chicken or two people start camping a spot and herd mentality kicks in.

I really don't see the point of camping in a MP with jetpacks, so I tend to lone wolf it. Also, old habits die hard I guess.

I would pay money to have this as a ring tone.

There's sooo much happening on the screen now (plus they changed the buttons for medpacks and Cobra, FML) that it's hard to keep tabs on yourself, let alone your teammates. Things will get better, someone dropped that portable cover thing on me whilst I was 1234-ing at one point, I smiled.

I know what I'm doing during my next Thanksgiving family dinner..

My ten hours are done apparently, I'm kicked out of the game! So I'll have to wait until the 21th to see if mp gets better or not. But yeah, so far not much team play there.

Dragon needs a beer me thinks...
