What happened to Undead Han? Nice avatar, but you should really replace his eyes with two X's given Han shot first.  You really had issues with some of the DA music? I cannot recall being disappointed with any music from any Bioware game. It might be the only area I have total faith in Bio's decision making process. I thought DA:I's soundtrack was great. My only complaint is that someone made the bad call of not playing it often in the game. The open world bits may have felt a little less tedious if there was some ambient music. I'm hoping they bring Trevor Morris back for DA4. I didn't care for Inon Zur's work in Dragon Age however. Other than a couple tracks I thought it was forgettable, and inferior to the soundtracks of the first two Mass effect games. I do agree on DAI...Bio's usage could of been much better. But we apparently agree the music was exquisite and the best of the series thus far. And I have always preferred the ME music to DA's, but while I enjoy the DA games I really love the ME universe so I wonder if I'm a bit biased due to that. |

To me, the music has always been one of the highlights of the ME trilogy, from the Spectre and Vigil themes in ME1 through Suicide Mission in ME2 and "A Future For The Krogan" in ME3 all the way to "An End Once And For ll" or even "End Of An Era" in ME3 and Citadel.
If anything, the music got better and better as the trilogy went on. So I am perfectly happy with sticking to the old guys on the composing front. They proved that they can come up with new and exciting music, that still fits the Mass Effect vibe.

*snip* I say let's give David Bergeaud a shot. I don't no idea who this guy is other than the Ratchet & Clank composer, but I do love his work on the original PS2 games. Enough to have rips of the first three soundtracks. Another excellent one: At the end of the day, the specific composer doesn't matter to me. As long as the soundtrack is filled with dark, mellow, spacey synths, with a bit of orchestra worked in at the right moments, I'm happy. I neeeed my spacey synth fix. |

I enjoyed all three soundtracks and I'd be fine with any of the previous Mass Effect composers. I hope there will be some new Jimmy Hinson tracks, because I liked his work in ME2 and was disappointed they didn't bring him back for ME3.

ME1's 'electronic' soundtrack is my favorite by far. ME2&3 sound like generic action flicks, with little that's distinctive.

Well, I don't know if the combat music in the gameplay videos so far is from the actual game, but I really liked.
I know everyone loves the vibes from the old games immensely, and I certainly think they should appear in the new game as well to evoke our sense of nostalgia, but I believe we should take a new direction (in a new galaxy) for most of the time.
The suicide mission theme clicking right in the third part of final mission in ME2 made me feel really epic (right after you choose your final squadmates), awakened me up to what I was doing and gave me sense that I was really accomplishing the impossible. It made me emotional.
And no offense to those who liked it, but the music in Priority Earth was shit to me, given the stakes that we were facing. Not at all memorable.
