My pick would be Sam Hulick again. He's done a great job thus far.
My favourite composer is Frank Klepacki who did most of the Command and Conquer stuff, but that style doesn't really fit with Mass Effect's usual soundtrack.

Sam Hulick's definitely not in need of replacement, but if BioWare were looking for someone else to score the game for whatever reason, I'd be massively excited to see Marty O'Donnell get some more work. I'll at least look at - listen to - pretty much anything he works on, regardless of whether it seems like something I'd generally enjoy playing.

Interesting question. The sound track from the first trailer is definitely non Mass Effect. I want sound tracks that tell me it's a ME game when my eyes are closed.
So my fear is that a whole new music theme will be created for Andromeda. Maybe I'll come to enjoy it but.... but....
As to the composer, no one comes to mind.

Sam Hulick, Jack Wall -- these are the names I'd like to see, or rather the sounds I'd like to hear.
The versatility of true artists amazes me. Taking Jack Wall as an example, the Jade Empire OST is his work. It's brilliant, and completely different from his brilliant Mass Effect stuff.
These guys are as much a part of Mass Effect as eezo, Reapers and Shepard. They also have long histories of working with BioWare. I'd be shocked and disappointed if we didn't hear more of their work in MEA.

I've probably posted in 8 or 9 of these threads on the torpedoed-and-listing-sharply old BSN, but I like promoting good game music, so..
I understand Sam Hulick is confimed for ME:A. He wrote a good portion of the better themes in ME1 and ME2, though I credit Jack Wall for the success of the soundtracks for those games. Hulick's ME3 stuff is okay but some of his themes, such as the Mars music when fighting Derperus for the first time, are really grating.
Nevertheless, I think Hulick will do a good job as long as Biovar lets him interpret what he sees for the music instead of insisting he use trendy shit Zimmer* Remote Control knockoff music (dun dun dun DUN DUN DUNNNNNNN DUN DUN etc) such as found in the irritating LOTSB DLC in ME2.
My dream composer for ME:A would have been Cliff Eidelman, a relative unknown best known for the fantastically and ominously epic Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. His ability to both write dramatic action music and mystery-laced sci-fi themes worked wonders. Yes, he did use the oft-cited The Planets by Gustav Holst as inspiration, but that's because director Nicholas Meyer specifically told him to. What could have been, biovar!!
*if you want to fite about Zimmer we can do that in another thread. Basically he was really good until the mid to late 90s then started overproducing everything and copying and pasting the same themes.

I guess I didn't read the OP very well until now. It asks for one composer only. In this case, I'd want Jack Wall.

Yes to Sam and Jack, but I really hope they bring back Faunts again! The ME1 ending theme made the game for me, and their ME3 ending music was very nice too. I just really love their 80s throwback vibe; their sound pretty much defines Mass Effect to me.

But LOTSB is like having someone place a steel plate next to your ear and then needle-gun it. Every time I heard that fucking DUN DUN!! DUN DUN!!! DUN DUN!!!! DUN dun DUNdun! it was like Lennertz himself was pulling the trigger. I do of course blame Monsieur Zimmer, without whom we would never have suffered ten years of DUN DUN-gasms in film and game soundtracks. IMMHO, of course.

Fuck Clint Mansell. They brought him on ME3 because they saw Moon and wanted ME3 to be more like yet another movie instead of being like Mass Effect. They got a boner from his haunting, atmospheric piano music.
I can admit it worked in the ending cutscene of ME3 where it is supposed to be dark and heavy in tone, but during the intro it made me groan instantly.
I want Jack Wall and Hulick, probably some of the other composers or a new composer who carries the same amount of synthesized harmonies as Hulick but instead of going for a sort of 80s electric rock vibe of ME1 they go with the theme of Andromeda being hundreds of years in the future and make a soundtrack with more modern electronic instrumentation. They already hinted a little bit of this kind of sound in the trailer from last year when the Vigil theme goes from its soft, thick sound to more distorted and fuzzy almost like dubstep noises.
But for the love of god, don't go for dubstep instrumentation in general lol.
Also, kind of fuck Christopher Lennerz. He made all the most generic "movie" scores in the games that sound too much like your average "YAAAWN" Hanz Zimmer fare, and Hanz Zimmer is in fucking everything, so please let us have some variety.
I wouldn't object to them hiring a band to compose for the game or something or to call in Faunts to make exclusive music for the game if they could persuade them to. I actually liked having pop culture tunes that stand in contrast to the sci-finess like in their trailer last year. I did wish there was a stronger resonance than the music they chose which didn't really connect with me. I like Johnny Cash, but for Mass Effect and those lyrics it just felt kind of half-hearted to me.
