dazk poked me about this gun chatter. I've been busy with real life, but I miss talking to you guys and gals. If there's still interest in gun talk, I can likely get roped into it. 😉 Valkyrie and/or Hornet with Full-Auto are game breaking good. Beam Emitter eliminates recoil entirely, as does a high end stability mod. The Hesh with full auto is the best gun in the game. It has bonuses vs both Armor and shields, and has crazy baseline damage and RoF. Seeking Plasma eliminates the accuracy and range limitations. Dhan can be twisted into all sorts of weird, game-breaking forms. The one that entertained me the most was probably adding Burst Fire and Beam Emitter. It becomes an entirely different weapon. There are lots of other broken combos. They really are broken, though. Once the initial fun wears off, it becomes pretty meh. The crafting system just never got balanced when the plug got pulled. I have a hard time resisting the urge to craft because it's fun. The I get bored because an easy game becomes stupidly easy. I'm difficult to please, it would seem. 😆 I have to save this info somewhere for a future MEA run. Or just ask you when it comes to it I think I found the Beam emitter Hornet. Acts like a Star Trek phaser. I still think MEA would have been a better Trek game even in it's current state. Probably would have gotten close to a 9/10 score. But mostly because the majority of Trek games suuuuck. I still have Bridge Commander as the best of them.
Now I am curious about the Burst/Beam Dhan

Now I am curious about the Burst/Beam Dhan Element Zero is a maestro with the guns, I didn't try the Dhan EZ can you give me the details so I can check it out? The Valkyrie got me out of some trouble today, my head just wasn't quite in the game when I did the mission to rescue the Moshae and so I had trouble with the damn Cardinal and the Fiends at the end.

I like that mission, but it was such a pain on my first Black Widow focused Ryder. So much cover for those things to move behind and so many of them going for you at once. Even later, when I knew what was coming and tried to prepare, I still couldn't prevent a good number of enemies getting to the shuttle. As last stands go, this is a pretty good one.

I couldn't imagine trying to do it as a Sniper, did you use cloak and turbocharge? The other tough one is the Archon's ship, that battle to get out of the Archon's trophy room can be really full on. Drack is a big help with that one. I had Liam and Jaal with me yesterday, not the greatest squad in the world but I hadn't ever taken Liam on that mission. My sentinel missies having Cora freezing stuff to make it explode, after Voeld will take Cora with me everywhere I think.

I play sniper a lot, carrying only the Black Widow (with a Battlefield assist mod and some kinetic coils) and the Remnant Inferno Inferno (modded the same way as ammo backup). On that particular mission, I hit the annointed that span about halfway towards the LZ with a cobra right away and then work on the fiend with the Black Widow (throwing in some incinerate/energy drain combos). I believe the rescue ship comes in as soon as you take out 3 annointed and 1 fiend... making it a pretty short fight that way. I usually don't have too much trouble with it.

Thanks for the tips concerning screenshots. Unicephalon's "old school" method (+ some graphics editor) does the trick nicely. Valkyrie and/or Hornet with Full-Auto are game breaking good. Do you know about invisible bonuses? I tried to make a plasma charge spam weapon and as the charge mechanic prevents full-auto firing, I tried to use shotguns, but it was not that great due to damage and ammo penalties. And then I remembered that ugly little Cerberus shotgun pistol... researched it just for this one purpose. It apparently does not suffer from the ammo penalty, but I'm not sure about damage. Once made an Isharay with beam emitter to see if the beam would turn green (it did not ) and it only did scratch damage, besides being single shot. I guess the game calculates damage for beam emitters from some DPS value, which is probably too low on single shot/high damage weapons. Did a small test run with level III Dhans on my lvl 13 Ryder with no weapon training and no mods on the weapons. The Beam Dhan managed to knock between 10 and 20% health off an Eiroch with one three-shot magazine, while the burst-fire Dhan took around 40-50%. I guess the main reason for using a beam emitter is improving range and accuracy. I would probably use seeking plasma instead, as this gets rid of the range limits and improves accuracy, while the drop in projectile speed appears minor. I guess the burst Dhan is meant to be discharged quickly into somebody's face, then switch to another weapon to finish it off. Yes, crafting is fun and some stuff is really amusing, even if not über or even effective. I tend to have a bounce-grenade shotgun around, for example. Always remembers me of the Golam Arms FC-1 Flechette launcher from Jedi Knight/Academy. In its primary fire mode, the FC-1 is basically the game's shotgun, with flechettes bouncing of walls and then burning holes into the floor with a very distinctive hiss. Secondary mode fires red-hot balls of boom thermal detonators that bounce around. If looking for a challenge, get a low-tier full-auto Incisor and try to snipe something. Tried it once and it did not work. Stupid muzzle climb. On another note, does anybody use the Lanat? Is the value on the weapon stats the base damage without charging up? For single-shot and full-auto weapons, the game apparently shows damage per shot (assuming all shotgun pellets hit, I guess), but what about burst-fire guns? I thought the stated damage is for a 3-shot-burst.
Should not Infiltrator profile + penetration/receiver mods also do the trick? I'm using infiltrator all the time on Havarl, even on my second Ryder (caster biotic). Damn trees and hiding sniper cats Roekaar. Ok, the abilty gives more damage as well. I might be just biased because I'm not good with powerful but short-lived self buffs. Never use Turbocharge, play ME2/3 soldiers or Tempest rogues in DAI. I prefer innates/passives like ME2/3 Infiltrator's time slowdown.
Did you use a Crusader? I wondered what it is good for in MEA. As far as short range single target damage is concerned, it is outclassed by the Dhan. For long range single target, I would either go sniper rifle or some heavy pistol + scope (Ushior or Carnifex). The crusader does not accept scopes and has large corsshairs (and projectile spread apparently) even when aiming down sights. Or I'm jst too dumb to aim with it?

I took out two anointed almost straight away and then a fiend with a cobra, I try to not use them but in this case they seemed to be spawning to quickly and I didn't take the fight seriously enough at the start. By the time I started to run for the shuttle and I am not kidding, there were 5 fiends that I hadn't been able to kill and I had already killed at least 3.

So yesterday tidied up a lot of stuff on The Nexus. Exiled Nilkin, cleared some protesters without giving into their demands, heard a Turian read some poetry, told Spender I was on to him after chatting with Dell and Kesh, hooked Gil up with some weirdo at the docks, got beaten at Poker, gave Umi some Hops, replayed some of dad's memories and spoke with Professor Herik. Then headed to Voeld with Liam and Jaal and went off and rescued The Moshae. Next completing some tasks on Voeld but won't have much time, left a couple of the random generated quests on EOS incomplete and depending on how they pop on Voeld may do the same thing. Have completed the puzzle in The Voeld vault for the extra data core, hope I can remember it this time otherwise my just skip that too. Pic's Time to put the warm gear on: Putting Jaal in his place: Rescuing The Moshae Blowing stuff up is always fun: Sister Sara is one of my old PT creations, I made her to look like Ellen Ryder:

Well you can up the duration by choosing the corresponding skills in the skill tree. I use long duration skills and the 1s per kill duration enhance can be good with getting multiple headshots. I used Crusader first, but then I crafted Dhan IX and my other favourite, Scattershot IX. Most of the milkyway guns are outclassed by newer ones. Crusader has quite the spread, one can get it smaller by having the passive with hovering and/or using a skill like Recon Visor (Gun Accuracy Bonus: 30% - Gun Stability Bonus: 30%).

And then I remembered that ugly little Cerberus shotgun pistol... researched it just for this one purpose. It apparently does not suffer from the ammo penalty, but I'm not sure about damage. Hm, I'm like 99% sure that the Talon with beam augment only does only a fraction of the damage it is supposed to do. I.e. it does only damage corresponding to firing only a single pellet. As for invisible bonuses: In the unmodded game, most shotguns receive a 25% bonus against armour, most/all Remnant, Kett, and Angara weapons receive a 10% or so bonus against shields. Projectile augments, like the beam augment, do not receive any bonus. The only one that does (as far as i remember) is the Electrical conduit, which does 50% additional damage to shields.
The beam emitter actually only multiplies the weapons damage with its rate of fire, scaled as DPS value. For shotguns (e.g., not the Talon) the number of pellets fired is multiplied with that. The game displays the damage per (uncharged) hit (multiplied by the number of pellets) for all weapons. A fully charged vanilla Lanat shot does 2 times the damage of an uncharged shot.

Today clearing out Flophouse... game bugged after the enemies had been dealt with, and I heard multiple "ghost" scavs talking about different things, like I'd walk through the place in peace with them. Is there a state where I can go there in peace in the game or did I trigger a remnant of old mission?

Is there a state where I can go there in peace in the game or did I trigger a remnant of old mission? After clearing the Flophouse, killed the miniboss that spawns in the control centre there... and locaed the Remnant drive core (that you can either keep or give to Morda) and also listen to the conversation up in the one lookout tower (I think that's about the water quest), I've never had an issue with enemies respawning in that location. My guess is that either you didn't really complete the flophouse quest (by not going back to clear out the control centre once you unlock it by hitting the terminal at the place where you do the stand-off after climbing the hill) or you haven't yet done the drive core mission (most likely the former).
Don't worry aobut the ghost voices though, that seems to be a bug that really doesn't affect anything.

Ah, thanks for clarification. I didnt yet get the drive core before this mission, its now done though. I felt bad clearing the flophouse though now after hearing some of the casual talk. I really wonder if they were meant for us to be friendly with them. I got the "casual talk" audios in 3 areas, two up before you need to cross the bridge and keep the 'hack' in the mission. One down near the path to lookout tower where water quest is. I remember one of them talking about Pathfinder being near..

I have had the ghost voices there too, strangely after many PT's but yeah it's just a glitch.

dazk, the Dhan you asked about is pretty basic: Burst Fire + Beam Emitter + Bioconverter + Kinetic Coils It retains its insane DPS, spreading across 3-shot bursts. Since the Dhan has a four shot capacity (at least as I recall my Ryder being specced), the firing rhythm can be a bit uneven. You fire three shots, then the next sequence has a short reloading hiccup, followed by more killing doods. It's a curious setup to try if only to experience how different the gun becomes. It's very quiet and fires much more quickly. The DPS remains the same. Buckeldemon, the mods override firing modes. If you install two mods with conflicting modes, such as Auto-Fire and Plasma Charging, you'll end up with the slower RoF. Several shotguns work great with autofire. The Hesh has a high RoF already, so adding Auto-Fire only boosts it further. The modest ammo capacity and accuracy can be addressed via mods and skill selection. (Bioconverter is king. VHS pairs well with Turbocharge, etc...) I, too, tried the Talon shotgun-pistol. I tried Burst-Fire to improve its low RoF, and tried Seeking Plasma to add accuracy at range. It was fun and sounded intimidating. It was perfectly serviceable, in terms of effectiveness, but not particularly good. There are just too many other guns that blow it away in terms of damage. Another fun, serviceable-but-just-okay gun I tried was the Sidewinder Pistol + Burst-Fire. It is fast and accurate, but short on capacity. The Carnifex with Burst-fire is actually pretty good. It's not powerful, just very respectable. It looks and sounds good, and has impressive accuracy. I love the look of the all-white X5-Ghost. The last patch added what I consider a bug. Adding a stabilizing stock to the gun turns it charcoal grey. Boo! I think I will craft a Ghost-Beam Emitter next time I play. That eliminates the need for a stock and preserves that Ai white & blue theme that I like. It will do bunk damage compared to better guns, but it will be adequate. These mediocre guns are much better for gameplay balance. The weapons with high baseline damage and semi-auto/burst-fire firing modes just break entirely when turned to full-auto. The enemies just melt. It can be fun, but gets boring for me over the 80-hour campaign.
