Your romance choice

I usually go with Zevran.
But I liked Morrigan and Alistair romance too. I never tried Leliana.

Lol!  I like Leliana I thinks she's adorable.  Like when she talks about Orlesian shoes compared to Ferelden shoes, and when she speaks about the Maker, and has her own interpretation of the Chant of Light.  But now that I see a hardened Leliana is canon, I harden her up in my DAO playthrough even though I romance her.  I also loved Morrigan ever since I first saw and heard her in the Kocari Wilds.  I love Claudia Black's voice, and think she did a superb job as Morrigan.  So my canon Warden the one that I use in my current world state, is a human mage ( I love mages) who romanced and did the DR with her.  I will not vote in the poll because I don't know which one I like more.  I never did Zevran, and never played female so I never romanced Alistair.

Yeah I know. That's why I adored her in DAO, she was loopy. It was funny in my opinion. I don't like her in DAI. I only liked her when you first get to talk to her outside and she's praying. She's vulnerable and tells you things she otherwise wouldn't. It reminded me of her old reformed self. I don't know I'm just weird that way.

I get that she's bitter about her mentor's death. I just think they shouldn't have allowed a hardned/ unhardened mechanic to be applied to her again. It makes her too maleable a person. Especially when she's the only one to harden? Why wasn't this mechanic applied to anyone else? Maybe they wanted a more violent Divine fourth option, but didn't have the budget to add another character.

I also found her to be...unintentionally racist. People point to Celene as fetishising the elves, hence Briala, but I get that feeling stronger with Lel. Which is why the only time I'll ever romance her is with a dwarf. 

Zevran is my favorite with Morrigan coming in at a close second.

See I don't remember her saying any of that except Marjolaine.  Does she say that to an elf?

I like Dorian. I won't romance him with a Dalish Elf either, because of his own line where he defends Tevinter Slavery by saying the Inquisitor doesn't know struggle or some such.

Josephine is so "I'm a noble" that I even doubt dating her with a dwarf will go perfectly, but that's my plan. 

Dorian says that?  Hmm, I might have to re-evaluate him.

It's like one line of dialogue in a non scene conversation that some people say was written when the game was originally meant for only a Noble Human background to be talking to him.  So they cut him some slack on the line. But if I'm romancing him, I'm definitely going to do all the discussion lines and it's a bit immersion breaking for him to say it to a struggling Qunari/Dwarf Mercernary or a Dalish Elf who's people have been nomadic from teh systemic oppression of humans upon elves (of which Tevinter is doing the most extreme version of in current times). It makes sense said to a Nobleman, though, so I intend to romance him with a noble human.

As a devout dalish male romancing Cassandra, the whole romance was ruined for me when she walked into the Temple of Mythal and said, "The Dalish believe in this nonsense? *disgusted noise*."

So I'm just particularly sensitive to some of these lines, and because I know this, I plan appropriately who I will romance with who.

Leliana just especially gets on my bad side because she fails at so many other things.

Yeah, understand.  I'll have to replay DAI as a human male then.  I've only beaten that game once and that was 3 years ago before the dlc's came out, and I was a Qunari who romanced Cassandra.  So the game is basically new to me again, since I forgot nearly everything, except a few things.

As for Leliana.  Yeah, I know what you mean.  I just liked her in DAO, loved her voice too.

These are my very personal preferences for pairings

Cullen with a female mage, either race.
Jose with a female Dwarf starting their own carta empire or a male noble human
Dorian with a male noble human
Sera with morally grey mischievous or accepting of mischief Qunari/Dwarf. Definitely not a Dalish, unless they hate their own religion.
Blackwall: I had the most fun with an anti noble noble  female human, but I think he would also pair well with a Qunari and Dwarf. 
Solas- only accepts female elves, but I've made her a very proud opinionated Devout Dalish who can put him in his place.
Iron Bull: Never gonna romance him, submission gives me the heebie jeebies. I guess anyone that's okay with that setup.
Scout Harding: any race, but I think she pairs best with someone who has struggled in the Herald/Inquisitor role because she has good dialogue for that. But she's knowledgeable about the Dalish, so I'd almost say a Dalish, so you can feel respected by her education on the matter.
Cassandra: A non Dalish is my only suggestion for her.
