So, also apologies for spamming the heck out of everyone. I just went through my Friends list and tried to PM everyone I could on the old BSN, but I'm sure I'm missed folks (esp since I tried not to annoy people I literally haven't seen in this parts since before the BSN forums switch). If I haven't friended you yet, please friend me! I need to go down the list, and haven't had a chance to get everyone yet. :blows kisses: Thanks for that, btw. I literally just checked in on the BSN and got your message. Or else I wouldn't have known about this place! The only option I could recall of all the new possibilities was fextralife. So glad to find you guys! So.... Hi hi! Ah, phew! There you are!

I changed my preset to BSN Omega. That made the font size bigger. As for getting to the last post of a thread, just click on the time the last post was made and that will take you to it. Ah, I see. Yeah, I poked around with the different themes and ended back on the basic BSN one (because this blue color is basically my fave color ). I like that the different themes also totally different looks. I wish there were more Dragon Agey ones, tho. :/ How do you change the preset? I'd love to have a slightly larger font...

Go to Edit Profile, and one of the tabs (settings?) has a drop down menu of different themes. Many different colors/layouts to choose from. But I ended up staying with the default, myself. I haven't seen a way to stay with the color scheme I like and just change the fonts, tho.

OK, who was it who said they could change the size/font of their likes? I can't find anything like that outside of just picking different pre-set themes. Other things I'm missing (and hoping I just haven't found yet...?): - No 'unread posts' flag - No 'skip to the end' button on the page numbers Anyone know? Idk about the unread posts flag, but the supersized Like notification may have been from me? That was not anything I did. I mean, it was super supersized. I don;t think you would have wanted it. It was just something that happened, and then stopped happening. I just bear witness.

tishinaThanks again for typing that. Helps give me better context as to which gripes I have and which ones I don't have. Firstly, I don't have a problem with Varric staying with Bianca. They know what they're into, they know what happens if they get caught together and if he wants to stay in contact, I've no opinion beyond,"Would you like me to send someone to make your trips easier to see her?"(I think he'd say it'd be more of a pain worrying over someone while trying to escape). So it's not their relationship I'm annoyed with. Except for the getting married to keep her family from trying to kill him. That's where I'm hitting a snag. She tried to get him to visit her, to which he replied that her family will try to kill him for it. Again. She denies it and he reasserts it. If she's trying to protect him from her family, why is she encouraging him to take risks with his life? Getting married did not stop that. He doesn't mind I suppose, since he's doing that anyway. But where I really don't like her, is when she applies a hypocritical standard to the Inquisitor. I get that she's lashing out because Varric's upset with her so she's disguising her hurt as altruistic concern. It's a petty act though and because the Inquisition is also doing business with the dwarves for lyrium AND the Inquisitor just risked their neck to help her correct a mistake that got people KILLED. Bianca is in an awkward position to start threatening someone over being careless with someone's life. The Inquisitor can even defend her actions or stay out of it and it doesn't matter, they still get the brunt of her tirade. Vivienne at least had the decency to cut one's nuts out after they said something disagreeable to her. Thank you for listening at least. I may not like Bianca, but I don't wish harm on her, just a reply back at her threat.

Yes, you are. Unless we have a lurker who hasn't spoken up. Though it's been fun discovering just how many people we have who are 40 and up, I thought I was a bit of an oddity, age-wise I turned 52 this summer. And Cullen is my favorite romance so far, so romantic. My husband just laughs when he hears me sighing at my computer. My daughters shake their heads at me too...although my oldest, who is soon to be 30, crushes on anime characters and is a bit more sympathetic.

Wow! I've only just seen the new thread and already on pages 11! As for age, I'm really not surprised there's 40 plus people playing especially if they fell in love with the games of the 80s etc. I'm 37 by the end of the year and started gaming long time ago as a kid in the 80's with atari and nintendo etc I also started with online gaming way way back in 1999 with Everquest. What I find more interesting is how there's a perception a lot of women don't play games when there's a ton of us out there (btw I once was told ingame long time ago people thought I was a guy cause I was "aggressive" with my pulling - character was female... yeah okay then lol) I love how the thread is not just about Cullen now cause a lot of the times we'd branch out anyways

And, yeah, it's funny how many of us invisible oldie female gamers there are (I turned 44 this year). But increasingly less surprising in our little thread community. For myself, tho, I never gamed as a kid. We never had nintendo or any of those things. I started when someone introduced me to Myst in grad school. Then Baldur's Gate. The rest, as they say, is history. LOL

Even then I didn't branch out more than other MMORPGs but recently I want less interaction lol also I gave DBG a chance when SOE sold them and I don't like em. DA and ME and Bioware weirdly give me way more satisfaction when I play. If I am going to play a game over and over again to level a toon then I'd rather be playing DA to be honest. Plus...Cullen, Alistair and Anders *sigh*

I turned 52 this summer. And Cullen is my favorite romance so far, so romantic. My husband just laughs when he hears me sighing at my computer. My daughters shake their heads at me too...although my oldest, who is soon to be 30, crushes on anime characters and is a bit more sympathetic. My daughters blame me for their own gaming addiction and geekiness and regularly buy me new computer games as b'day and Xmas gifts (they used Zevran to get me to play DAO and Garrus for ME ) I played board games as a kid, started dating a GM who got me hooked on Traveler and played D&D just before AD&D was released. Liked the gaming habit better than the bf. I also played things like Pong on an old Atari. My daughters tell people they grew up in a game store because I worked for a friend's game store when they were little, and the oldest partly learned to read playing Scrabble with the owner (we even kept a playpen in the office for naps.) Got introduced to PC computer games there - Might and Magic 1 was the first computer RPG. But I preferred table top RPGs until my oldest got me to try WoW just before Burning Crusade came out. DAO was my first computer RPG with romances, though I'd watched my daughters playing KotOR and ME.

tishina Thanks again for typing that. Hey, I understand being offended by her threat to the IQ (all of my IQs took offense except a couple of my Cadashes who found it unremarkable...but I wasn't offended.) I actually think they did a poor job on that particular interaction. However, the banter about him visiting? I took that completely to be affectionate sarcasm, not a serious invitation (though...he is a rogue, he could get in and out of her shop without being IDed.) That completely fits the kind of relationship they seem to have. Let me try to think of a good example... Say your families are fanatical fans of rival sports team that have a grudge thing going and you two are (secretly) dating. One of you is wearing gear supporting your family's team, and the other partner jokingly invites you to come to the fan party (tailgate parties for football in my area) that her family is having. You could get a dialogue very much like Bianca and Varric. It never even occurred to me that people were hearing that as serious, not affectionate sarcasm, until I began to see complaints about it.

(though...he is a rogue, he could get in and out of her shop without being IDed.) This is something about Dragon Age and other RPGs I've played that I don't really understand. What exactly IS a rogue? Before Dragon Age I thought it was a sort of brigand... like a highwayman, maybe. But in games it's one of the three "classes," and for some reason fighting with two daggers is the same as fighting with a bow. I get that a rogue is a generally small-ish person who is a quick fighter, but then, Varric...? I don't get quick and small from Varric. I mean he's short, sure lol Any ideas on this term and where it originated?
