And you keep trying to get me to play DA2 so I can romance Seb... LOL Oh, I think he's worth it. But his romance has even less content than Solas's, since he's not even considered an official LI. He doesn't count for the achievement, he doesn't come comfort you after your family tragedy, he isn't kidnapped by badguys, Varric doesn't mention him in the epilogue. In the DLCs, the friendmance is acknowledged with some content, but the rivalmance has practically ZERO for some reason. It's one of the reasons I was so over the moon that DA:I recognized my rivalmance . . . because the DA2 DLCs sure didn't. Again, it's all about expectations. Seb's romance has less than Fenris or Anders. But more than da2!Cullen. Well, true, since I assume da2!Cullen doesn't have any, officially

I miss all the conversation. If we do eventually change the thread title, I think just going with Ye Old Guard thread, or something like that would suffice. Down the road. As for Seb, there is that one little blurb in the Legacy dlc--if Bethany is alive and with you; and sounds like she's flirting with Seb, or something going on! Hawke can have a response based on your aggro/sarcastic/diplomatic bent. Friggin Bethany..

I did most of the Solasmance. It didn't have the same umph for me as I think it would have if I had romanced him first.
It was going nice, though until the whole vallaslin thing. My Q wanted to keep hers, whatever it meant before didn't matter to her. It meant something completelt different now. Especially now that she has not seen her family and friends and clan in so long, and may never.
So, at any rate, she wanted to keep her vallaslin, and Solas did not seem to know how to take no for an answer. He kept at it...and everything about his reaction felt wrong to me. I'm not going to get to much into it, but that was a turning point for my Q with Solas and she perceived him....and how she thought he really perceived her.
I knew the big reveal already, but I had not run into this vallaslin bit. So, it was a fresh experience.

Maybe the speech options make a difference. And I think Bethany and Sebastian are cute together.

As for Seb, there is that one little blurb in the Legacy dlc--if Bethany is alive and with you; and sounds like she's flirting with Seb, or something going on! Hawke can have a response based on your aggro/sarcastic/diplomatic bent. Friggin Bethany.. You don't get that exchange for the rivalmance, tho. ... which I edit to say apparently you only get it if Beth is a Warden for the rivalmance, which was not my lot. So *I* didn't get it. The closest it came for me was Hawke getting to tease him that he was leaving her for the Qun, and he says, "Never." But apparently that isn't romance coded. If Beth and Seb are the pair searching for you in the dungeon in MoA Beth will acknowledge her sister is with Seb for both types of romance ("Sister, you lucky b*tch"), which seems to be the only one coded for my situation, but I also didn't get that one. Ugh, don't get me started on the fact that they wrote more words about *Bethany* flirting him than ME being involved with him. I don't care if that was Gaider's background plan for them. Mine was the foreground plan. :aggressively pouts: Aaaw I didn't take Sebastian with me in Legacy (needed sissy and Fenris), but I think he and Bethany would be adorable. Don't let R2 hear you say that.. (edit: I'll also add that I also think Beth x Seb is cute... in stories where he isn't romancing my PC. The focus on it over Hawke's romance is what really gets me)

Hmm, I guess I also didn't feel that he pressed too hard, but then I reloaded that scene for as many times as it took to experience every dialogue branch the first time. So I also saw him apologize and tell me that I'm beautiful either way. Then, I went ahead and let him remove them, since my Lavellan was so shell shocked. And the way he told me I was beautiful after removing them was goosebump-inducing.

A Cadash Inquisitor meeting Shale Cadash (or at least hearing something about her)... Not being told I'd screwed up the Harding almost-romance in Trespasser... cutscenes as a dwarf with Varric that don't involve him either looking twice as tall or take place with furniture blocking his face...

So... there's a Harding almost-romance in Trespasser?? )

Thank the lord (and creators of this board) for these forums! I was away for a few months playing Witcher III and Fallout 4 and I come back to DAI... BSN gone Also I've been trying to find the story written by a user here, about Kate Trevelyan, a red-haired mage. I never got around to making a bookmark for that story so I hope you guys can help me find it. No worries. BSN isn't gone yet. You can still see the Cullen thread; it's just read only now. But the search function works pretty well. I don't specifically recall the story you mention, but if it was posted for one of our celebrations, I'd also check out the milestone pages on Pages 5000, 4000, etc. EDIT: Pfft, here's what a Cullen thread nerd I am. Could it be Haven by Sagefic? I did search the thread but I was looking for links in people's signatures and they seem to be gone. But Sagefic!!! That's the one I'm looking for Thanks a lot!

So... there's a Harding almost-romance in Trespasser?? ) *snicker* Ah, the height puns... I expect to look up to other people, but to Varric, like this? And no, he's not standing on anything there. Which is made even weirder by how often you look taller than Varric... Ah, the Harding pseudo-romance. If you flirt consistently with Harding during the vanilla game and don't romance someone else, Harding will eventually ask you if you were serious about the flirting then say you should get a drink together sometime in the tavern, hence the pseudo-romance. But in Trespasser, during Vivienne's spa day, she'll ask you if you ever took Harding out for that date, and you stammer out yes in a way that makes it very clear that you never got around to it, sigh. Dunno if it had anything to do with her professor admirer in JoH or not, but damn, unless they're planning to bring Harding back in the next game, that was a bit of a kick in the teeth since people have actually foregone other romances for that one conversation with Harding.

Harding deserves her own romance, she was a pretty neat character, I liked that professor admirer from JoH it would be nice to see him in future games, I found Sebastian kind of annoying and him trying to go after the people of Kirkwall who helped Anders at the war table just felt like he was overstepping his authority. I wonder what would happen if it was revealed that Meredith and her cronies were in cahoots with the Promisers, they were responsible for the blood mages that were turning the templars and they were in the process of replacing the Chantry sisters with demon impersonaters, while the real sisters were dead and being consumed by harvesters or something. The Chantry explosion would've been a public service then.

I romanced Solas on my first playthrough, so I got the "full" experience. I was the same about the vallaslin, but Solas didn't push too much in my conversation. I didn't try all the dialogue -- though the first time I picked an option that was more aggressive than I thought it would be and... that didn't end well. So I had to replay it the way I meant to, haha. I'll have to try that scene again and let him remove the tattoos so I can see what Solas feels I missed. And I'm glad someone else likes Sebastian. ;] Poor guy doesn't even have a fan thread here... yet. I like his character and wanted to do his romance but it... I can't. I'm completely incapable of killing Anders. Gah, why do you do these things BioWare? And why do I like that you do these things? But I was wondering about the MoA banter with Bethany -- I thought she says that about sister-Hawke even if there is no romance? What's the banter if Hawke isn't with Sebastian?

Whew! Had no internet for a few days so missed being here a bit But to catch up... Dwarves get consistently shafted. So It Is Written. But at least we can be grateful for all of Tish's hilarious screenshots Sebastian vowing to murder the entire city of Kirkwall (and then carrying through with it in DAI?? Yes?? I haven't imported him) is about as ooc as Anders gaining approval when you sell Fenris back into slavery. Ha ha ha, devs, very funny. We will now pretend this never happened. The devs ideas about what makes a good romance v. the players. A tale as old as time. r.e. Solas romance: I think it depends on the inquisitor. My Lavellan was very innocent and very pure-hearted and looked up to Solas. When Solas told him the meaning behind the vallaslin, he was heartbroken. He loved his people so much, and gently defended them around Solas (Solas is usually chastened when you tell him to knock it off about the Dalish OR he throws in a smooth compliment, like, the Dalish sucked but they made you, didn't they, babe ) He let Solas remove the vallaslin because... well, basically, he would let Solas do anything. If Solas thought it was the right thing to do, then so be it. Different characters of mine would've been like, hell nah. My Cullenmancer thought Solas was an arrogant prick and he never looked twice at him. My Cadash rolled her eyes at him. My current Lavellan respects him as a fellow mage but would have raised his eyebrows at being told his vallaslin were slave markings. so, yeah. Depends on the character!

Yeah, I make sure no one can forget all the delightful "features" of a dwarf pt One of these days I still plan to put up an entire collection of screenshots of everything that goes wrong in one... Anyone who can ignore all of those can handle the modded Cullen x dwarf romance... Yeah, my Cullenmancing Dalish liked Solas but wanted better responses to his criticisms of the Dalish. They tended to be either rude or ingratiating (not sure that's the word I want.) Some responses were OK.

My Dorianmancing Dalish liked Solas just fine (though defended the Dalish against him) until the end. Now he's ready to pummel Solas into the dust. You know, I actually created a few dwarf Inquisitors for my first playthrough, but couldn't stand to get through even the prologue while looking everyone in the navel. It was less annoying on my third playthrough (which I'm taking a break from), but a Bullmanced dwarf should be...interesting, visually.

Ah, good! Glad I could help! Once I thought about it for a while, the character name sounded familiar. She hasn't posted in the thread for an age, but she is over on tumblr.

Hmm, yeah, Sebastian wasn't really a DA:I character, so I wouldn't expect one around here. I honestly haven't gone into the DA2 threads yet. But I don't think Seb's thread on the old BSN was active for years now. Realistically, most fan threads don't last. Ours is unusual. 'Course, he's never been a big fan fave anyway. Then, add in what the writers did to his character in DA:I. Dislike Sebastian already, and THEN he inexplicably tries to annex Kirkwall for revenge on people who don't even live there anymore...? No comment. In my world, the Annexing Kirkwall quest never happened. In MoA, Seb says something innocuous, Beth moons over him, and as he walks away she either says, "Sister, you lucky b*tch." if Hawke romanced him, and otherwise, just fawns, "Oh, Maker." Gaider had intended for Beth and Seb to hook up as a side thing, but that's as close as he came to writing it into the game.

Huh. I did not know that! Hmmm... honestly, that sounds to me like they're keeping her options open for the future. That could be good news...? Maybe?

You can hear the line about sharing a drink in this at about 4:20 HardingAnd you can hear Vivienne's conversation here (the player replayed this for both options) VivienneI really am hoping they're bringing her back in the future as an LI. Because the only alternate reason I can think of for that conversation was to rub salt into the wounds...
