Speaking of which (mods)... I know I've said it before, but male Lavellan flirting with Solas is so... stinking... CUTE!! Thank the Maker they bothered to record the voices. I don't know if female Lavellan has the same teasing quality to the delivery of the dialogue, but I suppose she would? I just, aghghgh... it tickles me pink and makes me giggle lol They're so cute around each other!

Also -- will I EVER have a playthrough where Cassandra is not my bestie?? Their repartee is really cute and sweet, especially if your inquisitor has a sense of humor (as this current one does... yeah the angry personality seemed to fade away once he got used to his sitaution, and now I'm finding he's my most mature inquisitor yet, so he knows to take things lightly, or to at least act like it, for sanity's sake). Surprise!Bestie this go round: Dorian. Man they've hit it off right at the start. I think it's their shared sense of humor Sorry. I know this is pure drivel that no one cares about, but hey, the thread is practically dead these days!

I dig Cassandra. She's my rock. lol I'm always torn because in my heart I know she's the best choice for Divine in my world but I just don't want her to be trapped in that roll. Even though she's willing to serve, I just always feel like she's given so much already. She deserves to live a little on her own terms. Walk off into the sunset, fist bumping the air a la Judd Nelson at the end of Breakfast Club.

I wish you could recruit the mages and make Cass Divine. Kind of sucks that you can't. One of my favorite things about her is that she supports your decision, no matter which side you choose, and no matter what you decide to do with your new allies. I think she says something like, "Oh. It does seem like I'm angry, doesn't it?" or something. And she tells the advisors that she may not agree with the inquisitor, but she supports his/her decision. It's very sweet. I do like Leliana as Divine. She was born for the role. I think it's important who her closest advisors/friends end up being. If it's someone level-headed like Cassandra then I think Leliana will be fine. Even a dose of Vivienne on the side to remind her to be practical wouldn't hurt. Also I'm starting to agree with Varric that they just keep Cullen around to look pretty. He's not really one for sound sociopolitical advice. I mean when the dragon attacks Haven he's like, damn, Haven's utterly defenseless, guess we're all dead now. REALLY DUDE???? This did not occur to you beforehand?? That you are perhaps housing the most important person in Thedas (the Herald, b/c of the mark) in an utterly defenseless little shantytown? DUDE. Turn in your sword, bro lol Now go do some push-ups as penance... take your shirt off first. Yes, that's good. Good. Okay, don't mind me. Also some front and back shots of my elven inquisitor with modded body in case anyone was curious (and reluctant to play an elven male because of noodle-arms): Keep in mind this is the slender version. There are even bulkier options.

But your Solas comic just makes me think of the Buffy episode where she and Faith switched bodies. I keep hearing Faith, as Buffy, ahem teasing Spike but then shutting him down ...

Artemis: Yeah even if it's the slender version it looks so much better then the vanilla one. I'd have been fine with that model.

Now how'd y'all do that?! I would like to get Cass as Divine for once. In that playthrough i`ve allied with the mages, allied with the Grey Wardens, made Celene, Gaspard and Briala work together, supported Cassandra for divine in every conversation with her, supported Cassandra in the war table mission and was against the other two as divine in every conversation it occurred. In the end Cassandra was the divine. I don`t know if I'm forgetting anything but i hope this helps . Edit: This wiki page shows how to gain support for each divine: dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Divine_election

I think I'm still reeling in shock from Vivienne ending up as Divine from my first playthrough, when Leliana was the only one I even had talked directly to about being Divine. It's still so weird to me that it depends on all those other factors. I also used to think it had had something to do with that dumb flag exercise at Therinfal Redoubt, but it doesn't. Such a weird algorithm.

I accidentally made Viv divine in my first play. And once I ended up with an angry vengeful Leliana. After that, I've always made it Cass. The one I can't seem to make click is the Celene, Gaspard and Briala. Gaspard gets the axe every time. Whoops! I'm sure it's because I never fully finish all the things. That stupid bell starts ringing and I panic that I'm going to run out of time. Anyone ever let all the time run out? What happens aside from losing court approval points?

I have no idea on if the time runs completely out. By being late, I've just lost approval points. But, I do A LOT of pausing to save any precious moment. I always reconcile Celene and Briala and have them sort of rule together. I think I've alternately killed and spared Gaspard. But after reading TME, I can't stand him as a ruler. But then, I like Celene as a ruler, and I know a lot of folks despise her. p.s. love your new seasonal avatar.

There is a way to keep from losing approval so quickly. Simply don't pick up that one thing on the balcony. The bell won't ring until you do, so this way you have more time to explore the off-limits area. Then you pick up that tube/paper/whateveritis and the bell rings. Head back to the door to the ballroom. I usually wait until the second bell rings because you gain approval by being fashionably late.

I'm one of those that can't stand Celene either. Sure she's good ruler, but I despise her as human being. Also just can't reconcile her and Briala, poor Briala deserves so much more. Most of time I end up having Gaspard as puppet ruler and Briala to keep him in check. I like both as characters, though Gaspard is terrible ruler, so never without Briala. I'd crown Briala as sole ruler if it was possible, nobles would get heartattacks

Soooo my dear Cullenites! I don't want to open a breach (HA!) in the fandom again about this old subject (that I read a looooot ), but I'm like a baby playing with new toys, and I'm romancing Cullen with a man (I could build a temple for the modders, those celestial human beings) and I found something really interesting First of all, I am spanish and I play my games with spanish subtitles because it's easier for me (Hence my sometimes weirdo english), and I noted an interesting thing about that in the spanish traslation, Cullen refers to my male Inquisitor as male, english language have a vast quantity of words which are gender-neutral unlike the spanish language. It woke up my curiosity that the spanish team translated this specific line for a male inquisitor as well as the line for female inquisitor. Here is my screenshot and the youtube link for the female line. "Vos os quedasteis rezagado" (male) or " regazada" (female) = the "You stayed behind" Cullen's line. Screenshot: I'm in the beginning of the romance, so I do not know if there will be more lines for the male inquisitor, even though that was the only one, it is quite interesting and I thought that I could share it Edited: Soooo my little fellows, I've been making progress in the romance to see how this it goes, and the lines specific for male inquisitors have been traslated for now, here two more examples. "Sois el Inquisidor" (male) or " la Inquisidora" (female) "... y el Heraldo de Andraste." (male) and "... y la Heraldo de Andraste." (female) I will be posting my reports about this matter of life and death investigation of mine to see if the whole lines for male inquisitor were translated

^^^ That is fascinating! You know, I don't think we'll ever know the truth about why bi-Solas and bi-Cullen were cut. We can speculate... my favorite theory is time. It just makes sense. They were clearly halfway through both these romances (more so for Solas than for Cullen). In a way I want to thank them for trying. But it's a shame it didn't make the cut. And like you said... we truly owe everything to modders ♥ They're amazing people. Especially those who work to unlock romances they don't even intend to play.
Speaking of modded romances... I just played "All New, Faded For Her," and I forgot the scene where Solas returns to Skyhold was actually recorded for male Lavellan! It's the only cinematic romance scene that is recorded. (All flirts are recorded, just no other cinematic scenes, sob). Once again I'm touched and impressed at how Lavellan's voice drops slightly and sounds very sweet when talking romantically to Solas. Solas's responses are always a mixture of slight surprise and sheepish happiness. It's... too cute. I hate it lol

Artemis It's a shame really, Cullen would had been the perfect choice for a non-stereotype male to male relationship, don't anyone get me wrong, I love my bull and my tevinter queer, however Cullen would had been perfect for us. So screw heteronormativity, this guy is bisexual to my eyes until he says "I don't like men that way", is funny how he rejects female qunari/dwarf inquisitors the same way as male human/elf inquisitors XD I have never been attracted by Solas romantically speaking but I have heard he is in the same "we-were-going-to-give-you-a-male-option" boat as Cullen, and it's a shame really. So he has more recorded lines than Cullen? Should I try with a male inquisitor in the future? Just for science you know I hope I can make progress today with the romance, too many fetch-missions I will be posting more translated lines for male inquisitors for sure!

Yes, there are many opinions about the bi-ness of Cullen, but I think the fact that there are recorded lines for the male romance (and apparently *translated* lines!) is pretty telling. I'm also glad that the modders have restored what they can.

So he has more recorded lines than Cullen? Should I try with a male inquisitor in the future? Just for science you know Oh yeah, you definitely should try the Solas romance. I'm not biased or anything. It's tough for me to know what's recorded specifically for the romance and what isn't since I've never played a fem Lavellan. But all flirts in Haven are voiced by male Lavellan. All romantic content NOT related to cinematics are voiced by male Lavellan in Skyhold (so, after the kiss, you can ask Solas about it in his study, and that is voiced.) And the post "All New, Faded For Her" scene appears to be the only cinematic scene voiced by male Lavellan. For everything else, just keep your subtitles on, as you're doing with Cullen, and you'll be fine The kiss scenes aren't too bad, though it does seem sometimes as if Solas really loves necking LOL The mod itself is easy, unlike the Cullen mod >.< which iirc involved two separate mods. I'm not personally attracted to either guy, but the Solas romance just entwines your character so deeply into the core of the story that I just cannot resist it. Falling in love with someone like Fen'haral is just... wow. And for a Dalish? I can't even. I pray modders continue to come through and make it so our male Lavellans who romanced Solas can have dialogue with him in DA4 (if that is also an option for fem Lavellan). I don't know how they'd do that, but it would be amazing. So sad to think that the story could end at Trespasser for that particular inquisitor.
