According to Bioware the Maker is either A. Everything the Chantry has said basically. The creator, the beginning and the end, a capital letter G God. Basically picture any of the major Eastern faiths I suppose if you want comparison, crafted the realms both material and ethereal. Or there is the other alternative. B. Doesn't exist. So either Cassandra is right in her belief, or wrong. Its a coin toss. 50/50 is better odds then most when it comes to religion I think. Do you have a link to what Bioware said about the Maker? I'd be surprised if they said that either the maker doesn't exist or everything the Chantry says about the Maker is true. They've already let us know that the Chantry is spreading some falsehoods. I Would like to read it but no big deal if you don't remember where you saw it. Religious belief can't really be boiled down to a Pascal's Wager argument. The existence of a god isn't a 50/50 proposition even in the real world. Cassandra's beliefs can be entirely true, not true at all, or some of her beliefs could be true while others aren't. For example, it could be true that a maker exists but it is another powerful fade spirit but not an all-powerful god. So, her belief in a creator is true while her beliefs about the nature of the creator are false. That'd be a fascinating examination if there was a Fade spirit who embodied the faith of all Andrastians. Would the Chantry sister in the Hissing Wastes be one such example of faith given form?

That shows a certain awareness. And Bull teases her about it, which is hilarious. Bull: So, Seeker, seems you have a thing for Qunari men after all. Cassandra: Certain ones... Bull: There you go again, Seeker, getting an eye full of inquisibutt. Cassandra: I don't know what you're talking about. Bull: He's not just an object to quench your desires, Cass. Make sure you undress him with your eyes... respectfully. Inquisitor: I'm sorry, what are you two talking about? Bull: Your naked body. Well, I'm talking about it. Cassandra's just glaring and turning red. Inquisitor: Respectfully? That's crazy talk! Bull: Well then, go wild you two! Cassandra: (Sighs.) I also like her with dwarves, mostly because dwarves are great with everybody. *sideyes Solas and Cullen*

It doesn't feel right but at least you guys are here. Still, I'm tempted to... send stuffed animals and roses... to BW for caring so much about us. "You created such great stuff elsewhere so we decided to destroy your communications channels".

Not to mention that the Maker if an actual God created both the Fade and spirits. Ah, I was thinking that mortals existed before there ever was a religion or need of a god, but gradually developed the idea of the Maker until it was cohesive enough for the Fade to manifest the Maker. Kinda like Neil Gaiman's American Gods. But as I have no proof, the chance that there was indeed a Maker that made the Fade and mortal world and the life inhabiting it is just as viable.

Varric could have at least teased Cassandra about finally understanding why she had so much animosity toward him during the interrogation.

Although, it's more about Trevelyan, not Lavellan - my Lavellans a apostate after all. I would think my Lavellan gets rude commentary about that - but not from his clan, but from clans like the one in DAO. I image it was terribly awkward for him to do that romance scene, lol. I think he and Merril met and they liked one another, being both total 100% fade nerds.

There is something appealing about a couple whose skills are opposites but complimentary (although matching professions are great for bonding or friendly competition)! I think I see what you mean about Cassandra falling for another mage given her history, and as for Lavellan, it's fairly easy to headcanon that since books are hard to store on an aravel where every bit of space counts, he wouldn't have much experience with poetry.

I dunno, clan Lavellan was pretty liberal by Dalish standards. Maybe they'll be that awkward family that'll raise an eyebrow and say,"Well I hope you'll at least consider adoption as well" *facepalm* Lavellan: Let's just send gift baskets next time, love.

I think it's opposite with Cass and my Quiz - he's cunning, cynical, and sarcastic (the perfect Slytherin) while Cass is the epiphany of a Gryffindor (brave, selfless, blunt, etc). I image Cass got very suspicious of my Lavellan at many points during the prologue, and they bickered a lot, and Cass may have threatened to kill him more than once... But I do image him sneakily flirting with her, without her knowledge of doing so...

I like her to bits. She's steadfast, tenacious with quite the adorable adorkable moments here and there (the scene where Varric gives her the book is so cute). And I think one of the best aspects of her is how she may not always agree with your decisions (when you side with the mages, for instance), but she approves of your courage to grab the bull by the horns and make said decision. I really do want to make a playthrough where an Inquisitor romances her, but, so far, Dorian has been a charming little bastard and stole all the Trevelyans (*shakes fist*). So I made a Lavellan the previous week... and Josie got him at 'Andaran atish an' (*sigh*). Now I rolled up my sleeves and made a Qunari mage and it seems to be going well for now. Wish me luck.

My Dorian Romance is like the most morally suited person ever, so yeah, I understand, lol.

Another Dwarf Cassmancer here. I play the romance as the two of them being perfect foils for each other, where both characters end up influencing each other for the better. Cassandra's influence makes Cadash less reckless, while Cadash's influence causes Cassandra to loosen up (not in that way... at least not at first). The two of them do however share a mutual love of reading (and badly trying to hide their bookish side to others). Before she discovered this side to Cadash, she would frequently get annoyed that she'd see so many threadbare books in his quarters, believing he was ruining good books just to make him seem taller on seats. It was only later that she figured that their poor condition was because he'd worn the books down through having reread them so many times.

So what are people's preferences when romancing her--to make her divine or not?
I can't decide what to do on my Adaar playthrough, and I'd like to hear other people's opinions on the matter.
