Also BTW tell me of an open world rpg where your not gated?

I'm currently on the ice planet now and well, I'm enjoying it so far. Even the planet to planet transition is awesome (Dunno why that was criticized TBH). I found myself taking many screenshots of the visuals.
Of course, the game have some graphic issues, like Frames drops, like Ryder's beard not appearing fully detailed, as in a "loading texture" kind or a bit of lag in the Tempest or the Cora's eyes issues(Didn't understand the others flaws), but FOR ME it was something that I didn't mind much since I'm concentrated on the subtitles.
The game looks fantastic. I'm enjoying it every second and I'm a bit sad 'cause it's soon coming to an end, since the planet scanning quest is currently at 39/50.
And I was thinking, they have all the freedom now to do a DLC. It would be awesome if they created new species or let us secretly discover something that serves as a Mass Relay to another Cluster.
Anyways, good game. Not worth all the backlash. Bottom line, don't go with what people say. Don't go with the majority of the haters. Form your own opinions.

Idk where people are finding those fecth quests, upwards of 90% of quests i find is a massive shootout (who would've expected that from open world action right?) and some exposition with a decision in almost each of them.
Pro hint: You don't need to do tasks. They have their separate filler category for a reason.
Also, i still didn't manage to find a "gated open world"

I actually have a question about this... I have about the same amount of hours put into this game, but am nowhere near 51% completion. How do I check my in-game hours? I ask because I have had to retry many many spots in the game. I have prolly gotten around 100 game overs, so that should tell you what my competency is like on insanity. Origin says I have about 45 hours on this game, but they are not in game hours... How do I check my in game hours?

The game looks fantastic. I'm enjoying it every second and I'm a bit sad 'cause it's soon coming to an end, since the planet scanning quest is currently at 39/50. There is more than 200 planets to scan and 7 of them have open world + those with hubs and occasional full story missions.

How do I check my in game hours? save game screen Thanks. 36 hours, 20% complete. Based on this, it should take me 180 hours to complete everything. And I agree with you for the most part. Amazing game, prolly my fav BW game to date.

Oh, I am thrilled that BioWare made a Mass Effect game that is good enough for people who never cared for Mass Effect. It's like they didn't care for it themselves, really makes you think

So much salt that people are actually enjoying the game that they come into a positivity thread demanding a fucking thesis with citations and graphs of why someone thinks this game is good.
If you don't like the game, that's fine. I don't really care why you don't, and you don't owe anyone an explanation of why you don't. Just stay in your fucking lane. There's thirty seven thousand of your whiney bitchfest circlejerking threads you can hop on into. Go forth and frolic in those.

it's actually funny now that you mention it. This game really does remind me of ME 1 just with better combat...and gameplay...and a better story...maybe even characters. The characters are basically fill ins for the ME1 crew only more of them. You could even say that they've taken characters from throughout the OT and improved them. If Miranda wasn't a bitch? Vetra. If Liara wasn't boring or a Damsel in distress. Peebz. If Ashley was just opinionated, instead of a loud mouth. Cora. I could probably keep going but I can smell a fight coming if I do. Not really from me I actually really like your thesis and support it. Though I also did really like Miranda so there you go.

You have basically the same amount of control. It's just more situational based. You have to know what three abilities that character has. The squad mate will intelligently use an ability based on when you give the command. I've never had a problem getting them to use a primer or detonator or use the appropriate skill for shields vs armor. It works quite well. You just have to practice and time it right. There's more tactical skill to it TBH. And I love the fact that there is so much to do and explore as opposed to the focused streamlined approach to the OT. It's finally an actual Role Playing Game again and I can craft my own story as I see it. The ME2, ME3 training/amateur wheels are finally off. Thank You Bioware! Differen't strokes then. Glad you are enjoying it. We all like different things, and I'm dont consider the other games 'amateur.' I just like more focused storytelling. And I know I'm not alone. I didn't say I dislike everything. The writing though and the new characters aren't as good imo. I do like the Nomad. Haven't finished so don't have final thoughts yet, obviously a lot to do. The amateur comment was more of joke. You're right though. Different strokes

I really want to love this game. I really really do.... But I simply haven't found the love yet. I like it, but I don't love it :/ I'm ok with the less than optimal facial animations and the subpar voiceacting at times. I'm ok with the absurdly clunky and unintuitive UI and the horrible (to say the least) character creator. I'm ok with this not being Shepards story and I was actually looking forward to a new adventure, not necessarily tied in to the original trilogy in other ways than to use existing lore/background. But I'm just not feeling the game. I've played a couple of Priority missions beyond Eos and still the feeling of Pathfinder eludes me totally. What paths am I finding? Everywhere I go, someone has been there before. Whether it be ancient civilizations, enemies or existing civilizations. Excactly what am I pathfinding? Who transported all alien life in the galaxy to all the planets I visit? They're clearly related. I'm not getting that frontier spirit vibe. More like I dropped in on someone else's neighbourhood. Why does it feel like Ryder is a child playing spacehero? The lives of several thousand people is on the line, and yet I feel nothing. It's so sad. I really wanted to get into the story, but again, I have little to no connection to the world I'm in. I hope this doesn't come off as a rant, because it really isn't. As I said most of the problems people have with this game I can easily overlook if the "feeling" is there. But for me, it just isn't :/ I'll try making a fresh character (probably just going with standard look, as I can't seem to make a decent male Ryder) and laying off the sidestuff. Beelining a bit more of the main story and see if that could get me "going" so to speak. Here's to hoping my relationship with ME:A get's better

Well. I'm 36 hours in and I got about 40% of the game done.
What's amazing to me is the sheer volume of things to do, and how most of it is at least tied to some point or purpose for the games theme of exploration.
It's not special, like the Mass Effect Trilogy was. But, it doesn't have to be.

I abandoned the old ME3 BSN forums because of the "Ending" haters, and mainly used the MP forum. I feel this will be the same. The same people bitching about MEA are the same ones who said they would never buy another BW game after DAI. Some people love a good moan. They'll even hunt down a positive thread just to infect it with their misery. Is MEA gaming nirvana? Nope. But it's also not the worst game in history. I'm really enjoying it so far. I learned to ignore most of the farming and side quests from DAI, and I just plow on through the main story. I like the characters, the plot, the cut scenes and I can see the improvements they've made over DAI. Looking forward to the MP as the combat is pretty good so far.

Well i'm a little further in the game now and i have really no idea where the bad reviews are coming from because this game is GREAT i have red here that the game is buggy but i have not ran into any bug yet the lipsinc is sometimes off but that's it and i do not call that a bug and it does not bother me. There is only one tiny thing that bugs me a little and that is but first this i have not played ME2 and ME3 yet ( i know i should but time and there are other games that i have to play ) so i have no idea how Krogans sounds like in those two other games ( i only know them from ME1 and i just love Wrex his voice ) but the first Krogan i met in MEA did not sound like a Krogan to me at all haha.

I'm not that far yet but am about to drop to Eos, but so far I'm loving the game! It feels just like 'Mass Effect' to me with MUCH better graphics (the PC version at least), and Dragon Age: Inquisition influences. I think people are blowing the game's issues out of proportion. The animations aren't always great, but I can't say they annoy me that much. And I don't frequently see those odd 'plunger mouths', or don't seem to notice them often. I did encounter some bugs like the game not accepting outfit customisations for some reason, and those journal/codex notifications which often refer to 'unmarked' updates. And experience short 'pauses' in cut-scenes between scene transitions. And I think the character editor could do with more options (especially hairstyles! I see NPC's with hairstyles not available in the editor, but I would have loved them for my femryder!) At least the lighting appears to be better when compared to previous character editors... And so what if you don't like the default Sara Ryder, just customise your own... Well i'm a little further in the game now and i have really no idea where the bad reviews are coming from because this game is GREAT i have red here that the game is buggy but i have not ran into any bug yet the lipsinc is sometimes off but that's it and i do not call that a bug and it does not bother me. That's because the first Krogan you run into in ME:A is female! The first female Krogan was introduced in ME3, and there don't seem to be much superficial differences (for us humans anyway) when compared to their male variety.
